History

Established in 2015.

Karen Lauffer Strings converted to Silver Strings Academy in 2015. Karen has been teaching in Westminster since 2009, and wanted to be able to offer more services to her students than she could on her own. She found a select few other highly qualified excellent teachers, and began her journey as Silver Strings Academy! Silver Strings offers violin, viola, cello & piano private lessons. We offer group classes as well & performance opportunities.

Karen L.

Business Owner

Karen absolutely loves teaching music & working with children! She began teaching private lessons while still in high school in 1998, and decided that teaching was the right career for her. She has a Bachelor’s in Music Education and has a Colorado teaching Certificate. She also has a Master’s in Violin Performance & Pedagogy from CU Boulder. She was Suzuki Certified under nationally renowned William Starr. She also maintains an avid performing career: performing across the Front Range with Celtic group ‘Delilah’s Revenge’ and harp & violin duet ‘Colorado Classic Duo’.

Many of her students play with local youth orchestras, all county, or all state competitive groups. Some have gone on to pursue careers as musicians or are currently majoring in music in college. More importantly, she hopes all of her students lives are a little brighter through music.
