I have been a patron for this place for one reason only: fresh pandan leaf waffles. They’re made to order and better than any of the other vans in the area. The waffles are only about $ 1.50 each. Great price.

I love macarons! Macarons are suppose to be soft and slightly chewy. But these were hard and crunchy; probably weeks old. So disappointed! If you have a craving for macarons, go to Brodard!

Awful macarons — the fillings are way too sweet and the cookies are chewy instead of crispy. Even for $ 1.50 these macarons are still not worth it; they’re almost inedible. I made the mistake of buying multiple of them because trying one first. The green waffle is bland — no trace of coconut milk. The moon cakes are absurdly expensive. Very disappointing!

Came here to consider this bakery for my wedding cake. In order to try the cake, you’re asked to purchase a slice(which I am ok with) $ 3.50 for a slice. HOWEVER the moment I went back to the car to try the cake, a live bug came out of the cake in my first scoop! Unacceptable, even for Asian establishments.

4.1905031805200318332928 Stars I have fallen in love with Van Bakery recently, though I have been a fan of Vietnamese for a much longer time. My latest addiction has been to the coconut biscuits. Though I still love the other candy, meats and food. This location is smaller than the other Van Bakeries I have been to but it has some advantages: –The woman working there was very friendly, I appreciate that –Parking has never been an issue at any Van Bakery I have been too. –This is located next to the Asian Garden Mall(though traffic may congest at times) –In the heart of Little Saigon –All the lovely cakes and macaroons Where you find a Van Bakery, you may just see me there. I like to spend time in Westminster like a fish likes to spend time in water. I will be back to this location, so much more to enjoy, I need to try the cakes here. Song parody of Mariah Carey feat Trey Lorenz 1992 song«I’ll Be There» I’m in love with Viet snacks Westminster, I will be back Where there is Van I’ll be there I have love for Macaroons I love mini Paut Chad too Where there is Van And I’ll be there I’ll be there for sweets and food I’ll build my cake of dreams around you I’m so glad I found you I’ll be there for coffee that strong Or for the meats You know I’m reviewing on Let me sing your praise with joy and laughter A taste of you that is so romantic Where there is Van I’ll be there I’ll be there for Kopiko For the Coconut Biscuits, or maybe two Where there is Van I will be there I’ll be there for sweets and food I’ll build my cake of dreams around you You know, I’m so glad I found you I’ll be there for coffee that strong Or for the meats You know I’m reviewing on… o-o-o-o-o-o-on If I should ever shop somewhere new I now it better be tasty too ’Cause if they aren’t You’ll be there Don’t you know baby I’ll be there I’ll be there Where there is Van I will be there I’ll be there baby You know I’ll be there Where there is Van I will be there

Yesterday morning, I came here to pick up a cake for my boyfriend. Least to say, this bakery did not meet any of my expectations at all – they had small decorated cakes pre-made, but they were not attractive whatsoever; when I asked the lady about the custom decoration ontop of a cake, she told me I had to come back; she said they would just add fruits ontop of a pre-made cake WITHFLOWERS for an additional $ 3. Um… That’s supposed to make me happy? The unattractive cake with a flower and more unattractive fruits? I just bought one of the unattractive mediocre looking cakes because I didn’t have time to go elsewhere. when I came home, and we ended up cutting the cake, he was happy, but I was not. The strawberry in the middle bled into the sponge cake. How long has this cake been sitting in the fridge?!? And how do they continue to sell unfresh cakes to customers? I am appalled. The strawberries were scatter scarcely in in the cream. This asian bakery is the one of the worst I have ever been too. The bakery I got my mom’s cake from in atresia Nice Bakery, decorated my cake on the spot to my desired design with the freshest strawberries and a bigger cake for the same price. I will go there to get my cakes from now on. Not worth my money. I will not come back here again.

OMG! I should’ve tried some of their macarons before buying a lot of them. I’m a fan of macarons, and this is my first time eating any macaron that is that hard. It’s supposed to be soft and chewyyyy. Never ever come back here. gruuu!

I was going to give this place 5 stars(before I tasted the cake). The cake it looks good but the strawberries are not fresh. The top strawberry is fresh but the inside layers looks really old. How do you sell old cake to your customer? Who knows how many days it’s been sitting there. I ended up eating the cake only. Anyway it is a lot cleaner than before since they remodeled it. It is a lot smaller but organized and clean. Also I like to support small business(my parents own one too) that’s why I like to go back. But I rather go to 85 degrees for fresh cakes if I keep on getting old stuff. I hope to see this place make more improvement as they made changes based on my last feedback. P.S I haven’t try the macaroon yet so I don’t know if they change the formula from the last time I purchased it.

My mom loves the coconut cakes from Van’s Bakery and we’ve been buying cakes from here for years now. They also have macarons! They make amazing fruit tarts and have a variety of Vietnamese specialty food items for sale. They even make yule logs around Christmas. If you love ‘Asian’ not-too-sweet cakes and desserts, check out Van’s. They even sell slices of cake so you don’t have to buy a whole one. Whole cakes start at $ 14.00 for 6″ cakes. They also take credit cards.

I’m in Asian snack utopia! I love their mocha cake, so moist and delicious! Pennywort drink is also my favorite but I think it’s not for everyone. There are a ton of stuff that I don’t even know the names, and not to mention the hard-to-find items such as: chewy sesame candy, cassava cake, sweet/salty/sour plum, etc. They also have about 15 – 20 different flavor macarons but I must admit I did not try any because I spent my last dollar on other ethnic snacks. The lady behind the cashier counter is polite and helpful, and the place is well organized and clean.

Van’s bakery was super easy to work with for our wedding cake. In a quick 30 minute visit to Van’s, we sampled various types of cakes, picked the design we wanted and finalized everything for our wedding. The cake was inexpensive and the folks at Van’s bakery are pros at what they do. On the day of, the cake arrived on time as planned and was awesome. We got a 3 tier cake and got to mix and match the flavors of the cake by tiers.

This review is for the CHEAPMACARONS!!! My bf got me a box of 12 for only $ 15!!! There were probably 20 – 25 dif flavors to chose from. Boy was I a happy camper. Aside from the regular flavors such as salty carmel, green tea, pistachio, there was LYCHEE, PANDAN and DURIAN flavor. DURIAN. The macarons here are much larger than the average size one too and they tasted great to me. They are probably the cheapest you can find all around with tons of flavors to chose from! :)

The best macaroons and angel cookies! Their cake slices are also very delicious and fresh. The cream is lightly well flavored and not overly sweet. You can have a slice after dinner and not feel like you’ve had too much. For years now, I always stop here when I’m in from out of town. The shop is not the most visually attractive but what they offer makes up for it. Truly a diamond in the rough.

I normally come here for the bbq pork bao and the pork/egg bao, they make it fresh daily and it is damn good. I have never tried anything else here. The place is pretty clean, but parking in the center is very tight and cramp.

There are so many Van bakeries in the Little Saigon area. If you feel like grabbing some quick Vietnamese deserts, I recomend going to the Brookhurst and Hazard location. That location is bigger with more choices. This one is located in the heart of Little Saigon, across from the Asian mall(I always call it that). There is an array of Vietnamese deserts: Coconut cake, fruit tarts, bean paste filled buns, and more. As long as I can remember, my grandma has brought my siblings and me to a Van’s bakery. I personally like the coconut cake and the ice coffee — good ice to coffee ratio. I think the ice coffee here tends to be a tad heavy on the condense milk. Price: $ 3 flat for a cake slice Overall –relatively cheap treats — lots of fruit cake– not the freshest looking

My last visit to Van’s bakery was on 03÷03÷12. There were definitely more cakes on display, their fruit tarts looked better and there were more treats stocked everywhere. The place seemed busier too. I came in for the chicken bun(they can warm it for you there) and it was so good, as if just baked from the oven seconds ago. I also ordered their penny wort drink, delicious and healthy. OMG, it cleans you out and calms skin break outs/rashes. I also ordered one small strawberry cake for $ 12! CAN’T BEATTHATPRICEHEREINMORENOVALLEYORRIVERSIDEBABY! Van’s Bakery cakes are light, fluffy, creamy, and not sugary sweet. It is just right. Their small cakes may feed up to 6 people. And their small ice-cream cake is only $ 15! OMG– $ 15?! The only complaint that I have are the staff. Some of those women only speak Vietnamese and can be short and irritable with your questions. At least, they know a few words… right? Anyway, if you overlook that, you might also LOVETHISPLACE too! Too bad, there is no Van’s Bakery closer to me here in Moreno Valley. =(

This place has pretty good cakes. But everytime i come here its because the other van’s bakery near my house doesnt have a fresh fruit tart cake. Today i tried to look for a birthday cake for my uncle. But this bakery and the one on bolsa both don’t have appealing fruit tart cakes… The cakes looked like they have been left from the day before until now. The fruits don’t look as appealing and this place needs a renovation. It looks very old and dirty…
