Dr. James Noth is a graduate of the University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago. After completeing his internship at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in San Diego, California, he preformed his residency at the Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Noth continued his studies earning a fellowship in Corneal-​External Diseases at the Tufts-​New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

He returned to the Chicago area and opened his own practice in 1985. He is a sole practicioner that specializes in corneal and external diseases of the eyes, cataract surgery, cornea transplants and laser vision correction surgery.
