After 6 doctors (neurologists, rheumatologists, physiologists, orthopaedists, general physicians), telling me that the pain at my calves and hamstrings was nothing more than arthritis in my knee, I KNEW there had to be someone out there that believed me and could help me. Through the stroke of good fortune and Divine Intervention, I found PSI (they are also in Wheaton and soon to be in Chicago).
This place is a God-​send. Ivan, Paul, Andrew, Robin, AJ, and the others all have their specialties when it comes to treating a person — and that’s what they treat — the whole person. Any question you ask they are willing to answer and they do not talk down to you or just make you do exercises while they talk sports among themselves or watch TV. One person, one trainer/​therapist, one hour.
Six months ago I was in such horrific muscle pain in my legs that I was wondering how to convert our house to wheel-​chair friendly and willing to accept this new turn in my life. This group has saved my life — I get to have one again. Perhaps it was true what Ivan said last year — perhaps I will play tennis again this year.
I have been to nearly all the PT places in the western suburbs (one person also told me that my rehab wouldn’t work unless I got gastric bypass surgery) and at best they were pretty standard. This group is outstanding.
