Regency Bruin Theatre

Came here for the première of fifty shades of grey. Sure, not the most popular movie nor do I recommend it but I definitely recommend this place for premieres and viewings. Probably cheapest place for movies on this side.

Love this place! I have been coming here for the last four years and never have any bad experience. Plus it is located in a center of Westwood so everything is close by. Also students get discount so bring your school ID.

It’s a charming theater. It has all your basics, popcorn, candy, and slushies. I love how the theater has a curtain that they open and close to signal the start and the end of the movie.
This theater brings great memories of attending movies with my friend while at UCLA.

The best thing about the Bruin Theatre is the $ 10 popcorn bin which you can use year round for refills on popcorn and share with a party of up to 6 – 8 and you know everyone LOVES movie popcorn, it is the very best. It’s so much better than Costco pre-​packaged popcorn with a misnomer label as «just like movie theatre popcorn” – it is so NOT.
Another pro is you can always find seats even on opening weekend. I prefer sitting in the balcony section because it’s easier to get out and less people are seated next to you. #mildlyclaustrophobic
Cons: $ 3 flat rate for parking and long lines to purchase your tickets.
$ 8 student tickets, if you’re lucky and yours’ doesn’t have your graduation year like mine does. Also, don’t purchase tickets online because you’ll wait in just as long of a line to pick yours up from the lil booth

Right in a busy corner of Westwood, with a building so symbolic of the neighborhood itself, I love going to watch a film in this location. You can’t beat the $ 1.50 hotdogs if you’re starving, especially considering typical theater prices.
If you’re a UCLA student, you can watch a movie for $ 8.50. They have a beautiful theater! Check out the upstairs they have beautiful pictures of what Westwood used to look like.
The one downside, is that as an older theater, it doesn’t have the stadium-​style seating. For taller people, you’ll be able to see, but your knees might hit the seat in front of you. Shorter people, choose who you sit behind wisely!

Bruin theater is a good theater, I prefer the village theater across the street. This one is a smaller version of the village theater basically. It has one level of seating and it a bit more crammed (the lobby and the movie theater). It’s not bad, but in comparison to the one across the street it’s a solid 2^nd place. The staff is very nice and the place is worth going to if the movie you want to see is there, like I said there’s nothing wrong other than it’s smaller. So if it’s crowded you really notice, especially when there are lines to get in, use the restroom or buy anything in the lobby

1 star due to the manager’s lack of care for the viewers. The movie cut out half way through for about 30 minutes, and no one was there to fix the problem. When the manager came by and when it was «fixed» after missing 30 min, he expected everybody to continue watching like it was no big deal. Very terrible customer relations and didn’t do anything at all after movie was finished. No refunds, only gave out passes.

No one was manning the projection room, and the film changeover was missed. Audience left 30m in dark because the only employee in the theater was a girl selling concessions. Manager solution was to give passes, not capable of running refunds. Not the first time something like that has occurred to me but about the slowest and worst handling of the situation I’ve seen.

Came here for a movie screening of Chris Rocks new movie Top 5, I think it’s coming out in December. It was hilarious so put it on your list of movies to see when it’s released. The seats were comfy. The sound and screen were cool as well. My issue is the $ 10 parking behind the theater. Parking is actually very hectic in that area so good luck.

I must shared my experienced with reviewing the new soon to be hit film release that took place at the Regency Bruin Theatre this week. First I must share that the customer service at this theater was a A+. No lines, no fuss attending this film première — juts friendly folks and all went well. The TOP FIVE film release launched in L.A. last night.

This theater is huge. I was amazed when I observed a première going on at the brilliance of the place. The employees are also very informative!
Also, $ 8.50 tickets with Student ID. That is an awesome deal and I have taken advantage .
I appreciate that the popcorn toppings station allows for customers to put as much popcorn topping on their snack as they like.
The staff is also really nice! They were able to accommodate any reasonable desire I had, and that is not the easiest thing to do.

I was here for the red carpet première of «How To Train Your Dragon 2» and boy was it fun. I saw celebrities, got free swag, and sat amongst producers, directors and actors during the screening of the film (which was an awesome film).
The theater is clean and has that classic theater look and vibe: red velvet, dark lit halls, small bathroom (ha ha).
I had a super amazing experience and would definitely come back for a non-​red-​carpet event or screening!

Went for a movie première. Fascade is visually stunning at night. It’s an older theater, so it’s a bit worn inside. Individual screening room is huge and has stadium style seating. Viewing would be better if the pitch were greater and the seats were wider for comfort. Yet even in the back, you can still see the screen surprisingly well.

A little more janky than its sister theater across the street, but, hey, for $ 8.50 per student ticket you can’t really complain. A good choice if they’re showing a movie that you’re interested in. Never gets too crowded. That’s all I have to say.

I went to the Bruin Theater tonight for the first time to watch Evil Dead and had a good experience.
— Tickets. There is only one ticket box at the front; luckily, there was no line when I arrived. The Bruin only shows one movie at a time, so just order with what showtime you want. General admission was like $ 11, don’t remember exactly, but I UCLA students pay $ 8.00 after presenting school ID. They accept debit card (so probably also credit).
— Interior. The sticket stub collector was on my right, and concession stand on the left. I didn’t get a close look at the items available, but there was an ICEE machine for sure. Taking a quick look around, the surroundings were dark and looked old. The layout also makes the rest of the space look very small, and the location of restroom (s) were also not obvious.
— Auditorium. The theater was to the left, behind a big blue curtain. Inside, the auditorium was much larger than I expected with rows and rows of seats. Although the chairs were a little rickety, they were cushioned and comfortable enough. We got good seats in the middle, but that was also because the theater was not very full. Instead of the sloped design of modern theaters, the Bruin is built flat. I actually had to switch seats with a friend because a tall guy sat in front of me!
As for the screen, it was large and clean. The sound system was nice, though sometimes a little loud, but I suppose it has to be in case of talkers – or for us, screamers.
After the movie, there is an employee offering mints as you exit! Cute!

There’s only one large theater that holds about 400.
However, there’s only one women’s restroom (single) downstairs. The long gets really long. What’s worse… the one toilet in the ladies room did not work (didn’t flush). It was gross.
Perhaps there’s more than one stall in the upstairs bathroom but didn’t want to loose my place in the long line.
For the size of the theater, it should have at least 10 stalls in the downstairs restroom.

Love this place! Old fashioned Hollywood style theater. Sit in the balcony for the best experience. The THX sound system is the best around
Definitely worth the trip if you don’t live nearby.

Meh, I’ve definitely been to better movie theaters. It’s pretty cool that they have premieres here but honestly they sell out pretty fast. The student discounts are always nice but the fact that they only really have two movies kind of sucks.
There are lots of other great theaters in LA if you can drive. I’d suggest one that has IMAX.
