I am a repeat customer of John Barucci. I continue to go to him because he is a personable and competent professional. John now does my personal and business tax returns. He takes the time to ask the right questions which gives you the utmost confidence your interests are being served. Together with his office manager Bonnie, they run a very efficient and pleasant office.

For 2014 – 2015, I figured I’d share my experience with John again, so my fellow « Unilocalers» can start planning for next tax season…
I met with John 02÷15÷14 and I was certainly impressed that I was out of there in less than an hour – it could have taken less than a half hour if needed! He found deductions I was not aware of, which maximized my return, and he also made my life easier by answering all of my questions related to switching jobs mid-​year and filing in multiple states, which I found to be a hassle in the past.
John’s professionalism and dedication to understanding you and your personal/​business tax needs is second to none! If you are reading this review, and are located in Boston or the Neponset Valley area, I would highly recommend scheduling an appointment if not for this year, next year (2014 filing year). In addition to personal taxes, John also offered me free business advice and provided me with a brief overview on the services he offers outside of tax season (financial reporting, payroll services, and how to streamline). Personable, easy, and rewarding are the three adjectives that come to mind after working with John and Padgett Business Services.

Fast, very smart and experienced. I have somewhat complicated 9though modest) investments — a rental apartment in my 2-​family, foreign income, LLBs with incomprehensible 1098s, pensions from here and from Europe. But his fee is reasonable, and when I forget details, I get friendly e-​mail/​phone reminders to send in the needed data. Amiable and very professional.

John is efficient, friendly, honest, and great at doing your taxes. He’s fast — my taxes were done 33 minutes after I walked in the door. He has weekend hours, and while Westwood seems SO FAR AWAY, it really only took ½ hr to get there from Cambridge. This is my second year now working with John (or rather, sitting there while he makes his work looks easy) and I am impressed.
John has never failed to make me feel like a valued customer and my (3 so far) tax appointments with him have always been pleasant. He’s friendly, funny, and he remembered some obscure details about an amendment we had filed last year — seriously — without looking it up! He’s patient when you don’t have all the right forms or if you don’t understand random tax mumbo jumbo (this is why I pay to have them done). He has a way of making you feel like he enjoys doing your taxes. WEIRD.
As far as actually DOING your taxes, from what I can tell, John has a ton of experience and is always looking to maximize your deductions (all within legal bounds, of course — no shady business here). He asks pointed questions about things you may have spent money on that can be claimed for tax purposes. And, he’s honest. One of my forms hasn’t come in the mail yet, and John asked that I not pay him until his work is actually done. (I would have had no issue paying him ahead of time, either. I have no doubt the taxes would have been filed just the same. But it’s a nice way to make the customer feel like their best interest is what’s important.)
So seriously a no-​brainer. If you’re looking for tax prep, look no further.

John Barucci @ Padgett was wonderful. He was professional, quick and thorough. John completed my personal return. I had a pretty simple tax return however it ended up being around $ 125 cheaper than what H&R Block charged me for a similar return last year.
Saturday hours are also available, huge plus. Worth the short drive to Westwood.

I came to John through exemplary reviews and feedback from numerous of my coworkers all of which use John for their tax needs. Being in the real estate business, the amount of deductions that were possible were daunting to me so I figured having some help to do my taxes were in order.
From the start Bunny his assistant was extremely helpful and polite. John was very thorough and detailed and asked me a lot of questions that would affect the amount of deductions I’d be eligible for and gave me a lot of great advice that I will most definitely use in the future to help reduce my tax payments. I’d highly recommend John at Padgett for tax services as I will defiantly use him in future years to come!

John Barucci (one of the principals) is awesome! Coming in for an Angie’s List Big Deal, he fixed last year’s return and got me quite a bit of money back. He really knows his stuff and he was quick and tells good stories. Excellent experience all around!
