Great food. Great service. Always accommodating to my gluten free girlfriend too. Fast and friendly!

This place sucks pretty bad. I had been here in 2009 and it was awesome. Blew my hair back! I went there yesterday and it sucks. It went way down hill. They are really busy so the wait sucks and then the food sucks even worse. Tasteless. Crummy. Lousy.

Not what it used to be, a comfortable place with good food and reasonably cheap prices. With the commuter rail station next door they went a little more upscale and raised prices, lowered level of service. Thanks, but no thanks.

I heard they had chicken and waffles here, so i had to give this place a try. They give you one waffle with basically little chicken nuggets thrown on top of the waffle. I could have done a better job at home. And not to mention it was kind of pricey for the horrible food that i got.

My mom and I always pass by this place, and decided to finally try it today. It didnt live up to it expectations. I do not see why the lines here are out of the door on the weekends. Well the staff is friendly, but the food is meh. I ordered the twin skins which is potato skins filled with corn beef hashed topped with two eggs. The corn beef hashed didnt taste fresh/homemade. It was obvious it was store brought. The eggs reminded me of my college café. It was obvious they were the liquid beaters. My mom said her food reminded her of prison. Her home fries were store brought, and deep fried. So in conclusion, the food was mediocre. I don’t think I’ll be returning though.

We are regulars(every Sunday) at Uncle Charlie’s Finer Diner. Love the food, quick service, but most importantly the amazing staff. They are so welcoming — I feel like they’re family Given all the local breakfast places, I choose Uncle Charlie’s

Came here while I happened to be around. It was a very small place and looked like a great feel to eat at someone’s home. Thought it was a typical American breakfast with pa cakes, eggs sausage, yadda yadda and more or so tastes the same with any other diner you would expect. Sure enough I had the hungry man, regular home fries, eggs, sausage, toast and pancakes. All was mediocre until I got to the pancakes. I stuck my knife into it and it felt kind of tough. I didn’t think it would taste bad so I thought, oh, this oneight be unique, and sure enough, it is! It was actually one of the best pancakes I ever had. I took the first bite, it was chewy and a little dry so I added syrup. I don’t usually like syrup unless the pancake is dry, come to find put, the syrup is pretty damn good as well. It really makes a nice touch of it and with coffee absolutely tastes like heaven. The pancakes have some chew on it and a little grainy, which I have a preference on now. Service and all was on top too, felt like I was part of a family. And a mediocre privlce as well.

I can’t comment on the food because I didn’t even stay in there long enough to order anything, let me explain. When we arrived it was 11am on a Sunday the place was so crowded and small. The hostess sat us down at a small table that was an inch from other tables on both sides. I didn’t feel comfortable at all. I just felt like I was on top of the two other tables. Also, four different people came over and asked us if we wanted something to drink.

We have been to Uncle Charlie’s at least 25 times in the past five years. Food always excellent, service also excellent. Cash only. I get the eggs benedict over hash. So good! They used to have the fried mash potato balls, I hope they bring them back! Best diner on the south shore.

Went here to today for the second time. I’ve had their breakfast before and it was amazing(biscuits and gravy, yum). Today a friend and I decided to do lunch. We were greeted right away once we walked in. Took us a while to decide what to order since there were so many choices. Once we ordered, our food arrived in no time. I ordered the Greek chicken wrap with fries. It was delicious. The chicken was fresh and juicy and the fries crispy. There were a lot of waiters/waitresses there. The only negative thing was that they didn’t check in with us once we got our food. We had to flag them down for refills and to pay the bill. The price is very inexpensive, $ 10 for lunch. This is a cash only business. For convenience they have an atm machine outside(2.50 fee charged). It’s really hard to see the screen on a bright sunny day because there is a giant plastic covering over the machine screen. I made it work though. There is a cvs right behind this place so can always go there and get cash back to avoid the fee if no cash on hand. Great place! My son’s dying to go, will have to take him here soon.

This is the place to go for delicious home fries, French toast, omelets, etc. There are decent portions at a great price. A family run business that is local and friendly. They take the time to make you feel welcome and even explained to me the history of the place when I asked. Even if the wait seems long it goes quickly. There is something for everyone at Uncle Charlie’s! Try it out, you won’t be disappointed. :-)

My first visit here. As soon as you walk in you are welcomed by hostess. A great variety of breakfast dishes to choice from. I ordered the veggie omelet. My partner ordered the steak tips Benedict. Both our meals came in a timely matter and with an exceptional presentation. Both our meals were delicious. I will definitely will be back.

Uncle Charlie’s is home-y. I always feel welcomed, happy and comfortable when I come here. The staff are all awesome and funny and I love em. Nothing fancy, just really good food and a good spot to get together with friends and family for breakfast or lunch. The pot roast is amazing, best I’ve ever had. Try the pot roast eggs Benedict! Three pigs in a blanket is another one of my favorites. Loaded homefries, and French toast sticks are wicked good. Wish I was there right now!

We went in for breakfast for my birthday and the staff were all incredibly nice! Everyone was just so pleasant and friendly. They asked us how our Christmas was, talked to us as if we were old friends. We were impressed with the amount of staff working. Hot Coffee came around on a regular basis. The food was delicious! Great sized portions and reasonable prices. A very enjoyable time!

My husband and I went in for breakfast after twice leaving in the past due to the crowds. We got a table this Monday. We noticed the overabundance of waitresses. The place is not that big so such a large staff is surprising. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak which tasted microwaved and the sausage gravy looked like glue. HIs hash browns were over salted and big whip, they have onions. I ordered the corned beef and eggs and specifically asked the waitress if it was homemade, she said yes. Well, I can recognize Hormel corned beef. That ruined it for me. The coffee was weak. In its favor, the place is spotless but the food is mediocre. Don’t bother.

I grew up down the street from here and have been going many years 25+. I have never been disappointed. This is the place I measure all other breakfast place by. It is exactly what a breakfast place should be Fast, Cheap, and good food. Service is always great and food comes out quick. The number of times I have gone here and never had a bad experience is amazing.

Perfect, small breakfast spot. I usually get a basic egg/bacon/toast/homefries breakfast and they did it perfectly. What set it apart was the homefries. I’m a hash brown guy but these had some diced onions mixed in, giving them a much needed flavor kick. Everything is reasonably priced as well. A go to spot for your hangover.

I’m a sucker for diners with great breakfast. Though it’s cash only I enjoyed my corn beef hash and eggs(even though the corn beef hash is canned I still enjoyed it, eh I grew up with it in the can anyways). What impressed me the most is that they cooked everything perfectly the way I asked it. I always ask for my corn beef well done burnt, eggs over medium with cheese, and an English muffin grilled with butter. For this to be my first time and for them to cook everything perfectly the way I like it made me fall in love! Great breakfast spot for small group or couples.
