I compared six North Denver sausage makers before choosing Belfiores as my choice for an office party I was making food for, I needed 12 lbs of sausage(and I also bought 4 lbs of ricotta and a chunk of Grana Padano there). Just as an fYI any order over 10 lbs and they need 2 days advance notice. I like that the grind on their sausage is just right. It’s neither too fine or too coarse and the seasonings of their hot Italian rope are spot on for my liking. Belfiore’s sausage reminds me a lot of the Italian sausage I grew up eating on Denver’s northside back in the day when the northside had a lot of Italian immigrants still living there.

And this is why we love to live in cities. What a great place to have in the neighborhood. Their sausage, made in-house is excellent(so lean! shocking how little oil comes off in cooking) and they have a small but excellent selection of italian cured meats. The sandwiches are fantastic, both the hot(sausage & meatball) and the cold cut ones. I can’t disagree with the folks who complain the(delicious and no doubt locally-made ciabatta) bread is a bit overwhelming, but only in that it’s hard to finish a sandwich in one sitting. The balance of the sandwiches themselves is excellent. Particularly fond of the Sexy Sadie(yes the names are all Beatles references, why would that bother anyone?) Haven’t tried their soups or frozen dinner entrees but I suspect they’re great too. Truly a small local shop to support. Hot Tip: if you’re getting more than 1 cold sandwich it makes all the sense in the world to phone your order in ahead. They take awhile to make. Menu’s on their website.

This place is fantastic! I just moved to the neighborhood and was thrilled to discover this gem. The sausages(dry and fresh) are amazing and their sandwiches delicious. We bought some in bulk and we cooked it with caramelized potatoes and eggs for brunch. Out of this world! The mozzarella that is made only on Saturdays is really good. My only observation would be to change the bread of the sandwiches to a smaller and lighter version. Traditional ciabatta is not this heavy. I don’t think they make it though. The bread is a tad dense and too big for the beautiful fillings. Also, like somebody else suggested maybe offer drink options. It could be some of those SanPellegrino Italian sodas that are so nice, bottled water, iced teas. It doesn’t take much space to have a small cooler for sodas and they seem to have the room. Very nice customer service. I will be back again and again.

We love finding these small locally owned places! The banter between the regulars and staff and the small business feel will keep us coming back. It is a small shop but they deliver with fantastic tasting sausages. We ordered the loose Italian sausage and the house made dry sausage. Both were very well made and delicious. The dry sausage has a nicely balanced hit of heat that gets you at the end.

All of their sausage products are made on-site and are delicious. We only buy our sweet Italian and spicy Italian sausage from Belfiore. For that they get 4.5 stars. It’s the Argentinian sausage that gets them to a solid 5 stars. I’d never eaten Argentinian style sausage before my hubby brought some home one day to try. Wow, seriously WOW — this is the best sausage I’ve ever eaten. It’s great with pasta and peppers or on a roll with cheese. The flavor is absolutely amazing. The only problem is that they only make the Argentinian to order(since they have to make it in bulk). So, unless they have a pound left over that someone didn’t pick up, you need to place an order and wait… But, trust me, it’s worth the wait.

I wanted to rate it higher… being a devout fan of Italian Deli’s…but I just can’t. …Here’s why… I am still reeling over the closure of Carbones… aka– the perfect sub. 1. The bread is overwhelming. .but tasty with good texture… But Way too big for a sub… Like a previous reviewer, I ended up eating the contents only on the second half. 2. Names… why…not everyone likes the Beatles… Let’s stick with Numbers. …that always seems to work. 3. Flexibility… No variations offered… Even after asking… couldn’t get a half sausage, half meatball??? Can’t think of an easier way to make a customer happy… 4. No drinks… why not, this is an easy money maker, and easy to do… I don’t want to make multiple stops for my lunch. 5. Chips… sure, if I want em, I would like them, and will order them… But don’t assume I do… and give me the opportunity to choose a flavor… The sandwich is big enough, and if nothing more, I would like to wash it down with a coke or other type of drink. 6…and not a big deal, buts it’s nice to see a deli at work– rather than your sandwich being made«behind the curtain» On a positive note, the meatballs were great, and I’m sure everything else is too. Italian Deli’s are tough to find and I wish them the best. By considering these changes, business can only get better!

I LOVE their sandwiches! I tried them on a whim one day a couple of years ago and it’s been a delicious experience every time ever since. Once they forgot the olive salad on one of our sandwiches but they immediately notified us of the error and gave us 50% off our next sandwich. Excellent customer service and amazing food… what more could you ask for?

I really wanted to love Belfiore. Especially after how difficult it was to finally try it. No sandwiches after 3. Twice, they ran out of both sausage and meatballs by 2pm. Despite these annoyances, I persevered and finally got to try their sausage sammich. While the sausage was very good, the ciabatta was kinda intimidating. So huge, not particularly moist, but not bad. I ended up scrapping the tops and eating like a pizza. More sauce might have helped the situation. They have tons of deli sandwiches that look appetizing. I’ll look forward to trying these as well.

I just tried their new sandwiches. Oh My God. Ciabatta bread was unreal. So big, so fresh. The meat. The veggies. I highly recommend that you stop what you are doing and head over there now. I will being heading back to try more of their food very soon.

Quite simply the best Italian sausage in town! Although I’m British, I had become a snob of good Italian food whilst living in Northern NJ for 9 years, and was struggling to find good Italian sausage when I moved to Denver back in 1995. It was the FedEx guy who recommended Belfiore and I have never looked back! The original owners retired some years back, and the current owners have kept that traditional recipe which has always been lean and flavorful(it’s the perfect amount of fennel seed that makes the difference). They honor the traditions of a long-time family business, while successfully adding items like their yummy«sammiches». The frozen home made meals are fabulous too. Don’t forget to pick up some Locatelli cheese, some prosciutto, and… oh, stop reading, just go there! Buon Appetito!

I would have to say that belfiore’s italian sausage has some of the best sausage in town. Fresh and dried sausage, fresh pasta, everything they make and carry I’d awesome.

Thanks to the Unilocalers who guided me to Belfiore’s. I always drive to the north Denver/Wheat Ridge area for my Italian goodies. This place is just fantastic. I got their Italian sausage(thanks to Dave B.) because I love all things Parisi and knowing that they provide the wonderful sausage that Parisi uses compelled me to come get some to take home. I also picked up some fabulous provolone and olives. This is the real deal. Just like we’ve had in travels to Italy. YUMYUM

05FEB2015 Get the Argentine sausage. You have to special order it. It is GREAT! 02NOV2013 2.5 years later and I still think they have the best sausage. And, they have cheese(good price) and Italian pasta(expensive). Friendly owners. Still 5 big, fat stars. 29JUL2011 I stopped in to buy some sausage and found out that they make sausage for Parisi. Good to know. Soon, I will try other items.

I’ve only just begun to dive into Belfiore’s delicacies. I almost hate to let the secret out about their mac-n-cheese. It’s the best mac-n-cheese I’ve tasted. It comes frozen, ready to bake for about 1 hour. It’s a blend of four cheeses, garlic and the best breadcrumbs ever. The ravioli is fantastic too. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

F A N T A S T I C ! I am enthusiastic about this place because I love supporting local businesses that produce beautiful products. I second all the rave reviews about the Italian sausage. It is wonderful to cook with and a pleasure to serve. I thought I liked Boulder Sausage, but it always had that too-much-Caraway flavor. Belfiore is wonderfully balanced and made with good meat, no gristle, just enough fat to cook well. The sausage keeps me going back again and again, but whenever it’s available I also love the Gnocchi. It’s in the freezer and is a cinch to prepare, and you don’t have to serve big portions to provide a hearty meal. Boil a large pot of water, drop the Gnocchi in, watch until they all float, drain but DON’T RINSE. Transfer to a heated bowl with olive oil, Parmesan, chopped basil, diced tomatoes and Kalamata Olives. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve with crumbles of Belfiore sausage. I also buy my Kalamata olives here, they’re superb.

I have been going to Belfiore for years even before they moved to the west to their current location. A pound of the sausage will only yield a tablespoon or so of fat, it is really lean and good. I have preferred Belfiore’s sausage because they don’t over do it with the caraway seeds like others do. If you prefer more caraway, sprinkle some in your dish. Theirs is perfect. I also like the ravioli, because I am not going to go through the brain damage needed to make fresh ravioli at home. The older couple who owned the restaurant to years sold it to younger family members, who treat the recipe with the same love.

The sausage at this little shop is delicious.(My favorite is the hot, but the mild is also really good.) Stuffed in green peppers, the bulk sausage can be grilled up beautifully over medium heat. Or just buy the rope and cook it up that way. It’s lean(not greasy), the casing is perfect, and it’s made on-site by the friendly family who runs the place. The pizzelles are also fantastic, and the dried meats are great to bring on a picnic with bread, cheese, and wine. Lots of character here.

Do yourself a favor. Stop in special for the sausage, or the pre-assembled lasagne. It is so good and is a great value for take out. A great hidden secret. You don’t have to tell anyone you didn’t make it from scratch
