Japanese Auto Service is a full service auto repair shop that has been serving Wheat Ridge, CO, and the surrounding metro area for over 29 years. Our specialty is Japanese cars, including brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Subaru, Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda, and Scion. We are experienced working with automatic, manual, and hybrid models. History
Established in 1985.
Steve Shelton started the business in 1985 and has over 35 years in the Auto Repair industry. Steve is L-1 and ASE Master certified. In 2010, Steve was selected as Identifix/ASE Aftermarket Drivability Technician of the Year, one of only 38 auto technicians in North America recognized by the ASE. Prior to establishing Japanese Auto Service, Steve served in the Marines, specializing in aviation electronics.
Also key to shop operations is Anthony Thompson who has been working with Steve at the shop since 1989. Anthony is ASE certified.
Meet the Manager
Ross S.
Manager
Ross is the owner’s son and grew up in Golden, CO. Ross worked at Japanese Auto Service all thru high school and re-built a 1972 Chevy Blazer as his first major project. After Ross graduated high school he joined the Marine Corps like his father specialized in Aviation electronics. Having a mechanical back ground gave Ross an advantage and he was soon placed on flight orders and made into a helicopter crew chief of ch-46e helicopters. In 2004 and 2005 he would fly missions over Iraq. Ross was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 2005 and came to work for his family business. He has since become a fully Master ASE certified technician and L1 Advanced Diagnostic certified. Ross is married and has 2 children. He loves running a small family business and enjoys conversations with customers that come into Japanese Auto Service. Some of which he has known since he was a kid.
