AS much as I appreciate the heartfelt poorly timed robotic cover your ass response that you give everyone else make no mistake. I am crazy NOT stupid. My concern now is that they have pills for crazy. What are all the stupid people gonna do? cant fix that.

I have been a Jeffco client for 11 years and felt disrespected by the ladies at the front desk which sets a negative tone for the whole experience. I do empathize with what they are dealing with and it is a lot. That being said I do not condone rudeness or impatience directed towards me without a reason. I loved the therapist and now go to the arvada office on wadsworth. It is polite and friendly and my doctor is the greatest,

You don’t really have to go to JCMH! There are other choices! Look at your Medicaid information to find other providers!
At JCMH:
My therapist took a personal call during an appt.
Intake therapist didn’t include crucial info in my file so that the meds prescriber had to do it herself.
I was shuffled from one therapist to another with apparent disregard for stated psych. needs.
Was told that Medicaid only approves 26 sessions per year, but then found out that the provider only needs to submit paperwork to Medicaid showing reasonable need for more sessions, and Medicaid will cover additional sessions.

Having been a consumer of this place for several years I can honestly say its not very helpful unless you are profoundly mentally ill and don’t have of a good grasp of your rights and needs as a patient. Their medical and psychiatric staff are a joke, making you feel like their licensing is more important that your mental health needs, and while there are a few competent therapists and psychologists working, a good majority don’t really get the point of patient focused care, rather they tend to stick to a one size fits all attitude. This does not work when you have so many patients who have individual needs. Navigation services is hit and miss because you can get help with paperwork for human services, but you will also be stuck when the bureaucratic red tape holds up you application process, the county will make you wait endlessly with no explanation of anything. Overall, the experience of being with JCMH has not been a very pleasant one.
1. I was prescribed medication but never given any warnings about the major side effects which I experienced and almost killed me, she then tried to prescribe the same drug the same drug to me again (3 separate time) after I had to explain the dangerous side effects to this psych nurse. This is quite scary when this a drug she is giving to countless patients.
2. I had a therapist who didn’t know my name, and called me by the wrong name the entire time he saw me.
3. I have been traded between therapists like cattle (not safe to do when in therapy frankly).
4. Never able to pick my own course of treatment unless I am forced to partake in activities like groups in order to gain any access to treatment. This isn’t fair for people who struggle with group dynamics.
5. Had four psychiatric appointments cancelled on me and was pushed back 9 months to see someone about medications and again this is very unsafe when dealing with people who are dealing with any kind of psychiatric issues, not just for myself but any patient. They never offered am alternative appointment for the cancellations, just blew me off.
6. Don’t ever not call to cancel because they won’t hesitate to kick you out of the system for forgetting anything! Office staff is about as friendly as the DMV and as helpful.
7. At the end of it all, consumer rights mean nothing!

Horrible! Takes forever to get an appointment and when you’re being scheduled I was often lied to about the first available. If I got pissed at having to wait so long, suddenly an earlier appointment would be available. The providers don’t seem to care at all about their patients either. I hate this place and I’m switching providers. You truly get what you pay for, which is NOTHING!

You get what you pay for.
I am an educated professional who has suffered greatly as a result of the current economic situation in our society. I sought help from Jefferson Center for Mental Health because I have no health insurance and very limited finances.
Although my therapist seems very good at what she does, if/​when I ever need to deal with anyone else in the organization the results are the same: I’m treated like a second-​class citizen. I find myself avoiding picking up the phone to make an appointment because I’m treated so poorly by the office staff. I am an annoyance, a burden, a bothersome person who calls and needs help.
I’ve been treated like a criminal and a thief. «Demoralizing» is the word that continues to come to mind when I think about dealing with Jefferson Center for Mental Health.
Even now at this exact moment on their website they offer that «Resource Chat is Available 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-​Friday.» And clicking on that button opens a page that says «Our InfoChat Operators are currently offline.. . «
Their 24-​hour help line is staffed by more of the same: uncaring individuals whose goal is to get you off the phone as quickly as possible. I’ve called it several times and the «emergency» help has been nonexistent. After a few minutes you’ll likely be told to go to the emergency room.
I see the DONATE button prominently displayed on their website, but my advice is to donate your money to a smaller organization that truly cares about providing some measure of customer service to their clients, REGARDLESS of that client’s ability to pay. I had originally planned to be a lifelong donor to this organization, but I will not be doing that after the demoralizing treatment I have received.
If you need mental health help, my advice is to go somewhere — anywhere — else. Jefferson Center for Mental Health has a few competent providers, but the morally-​repugnant treatment by office staff is enough for me to urge you to go elsewhere.
If you truly need help please call a COMPETENT mental health provider and ask if they are able to offer you any services that can be billed later and/​or if they have any pro bono slots available. I’d recommend that you go without groceries and save money to pay for mental health services in an environment that is actually caring. If you go to Jefferson Center for Mental Health you’ll walk away feeling like a worthless human.
