Having owned countless vehicles I do consider myself quite an expert on car sales transactions. From friends to strangers. Private sales to car dealerships, The worst has to be the dealership, I’ve been burned with bad cars. I’ve been screwed by financing,
Becoming a dad meant no more muscle cars or vehicles I like. Practical it shall be. But my Astro van is starting to be a money pit and I refuse one more repair. I went online and found McManus who said they didn’t care about my bad credit (575) just as long as I was employed and had steady residence they wanted to help me with my future credit (I’m in sales… that’s a great line.) I called. Got Pre-​approved with out them running a credit check. Could be due to CreditKarma. I wrote down all the cars I was interested in at the Wheat Ridge lot and went to check them out. Some cars weren’t there… they switch cars to there other Golden location and some sell before they update their website which is understandable. I walked into the lot. Checked out ALL the cars that were there. 12ish. Sat in everyone of them and knew the price from the web site. Was not hassled by a sales person at all. Made up my mind and headed inside,
I met the owner who simply asked my which one did I want. I said I liked the Mini Cooper but it was at the high end of my pricing. He said he wanted me to drive out with the car I wanted not the one I settled on.
He gave me a generous trade in value for my van. worked with me on the monthly payments until we had come into my monthly ballpark and the entire transaction lasted 30 minutes and I drove out with a 2006 MiniCooper… Happy.
My experience was amazing and I’ve told all my friends and now you.

These guys are great. I was in a bind and needed a vehicle ASAP. They worked with me on the down payment and got me rolling with a new (to me) set of wheels. A+ service.

I saw a few cars on their site that looked interesting. I stopped in and was able to look around the lot without be accosted, so the visit started out positive. I saw at least two cars I was interested in and went in to talk to someone.
That is where this went downhill. They were accommodating on price, coming off the sticker price almost immediately — pleasantly surprising … but then I asked to be able to have my mechanic give the car a once over … and now we get to the source of 2 stars. As a car dealer, if you are not hiding issues why would you not allow for a car to be given a once over /​2^nd opinion. Of course they are going to find things that need to be done … it is a used car. And this is a negotiation … Well not here at McManus — a flat no, we won’t do that. Yes, they did offer to put it on a lift here at the lot … even said I could have a mechanic come there to look at it … but have you ever asked your mechanic to take a road trip? When pigs fly … and that $ 100 or $ 200 charge to give you a full work up on the car (depends on the car manf.) … well a road trip can double that price …
Bottomline, I came on the lot ready to purchase and left frustrated as well as feeling like they were hiding something potentially big … Just could not feel like I trusted them and at least for me, I need to be able to trust someone from whom I am buying a used car … (trust but verify).

Dishonest business practices!
The worst car buying experience ever. I checked Craigslist for some cars in my price range. I found a bunch but about 4 were all at the same place, McManus.
Great so we drive there and go straight to the cars they had listed on Craigslist. Turns out the cars were not at the price they advertised and they never gave a straight answer as to why their listings said one price but they are charging a price that’s in some cases double the advertised price.
They then tried to pretend maybe they were different cars that were advertised because, «we get a lot of red Dodge Durango’s in.» Right. So I pulled up the add from Craigslist which had the vin (vehicle identification number) for this particular car and bam, exact same car, the vin’s matched. He then changed his tone and placed the blame on somebody else. Then still tried to sell me another car. GEEZ!
Obviously it wasn’t an accident. It’s a PLOY TO GET YOU THERE so that their shady sales guy can try and sell you something else. It’s crap! Get verification on the phone at least if you must go there.
They are the most dishonest car sales reps and operation in general that I’ve seen. They’re the reason used car salesman get a bad rap.
I WOULD RECOMMEND NO MATTER HOW TEMPTED YOU ARE, DO NOT GO THE THERE.

these folks are grade a assholes! we went there just shopping around… decided to have our credit checked to see available options. they immediately thereafter ushered us to a 2003 dodge pickup… and refused to even entertain the idea of another choice. then we said we would think it over… they waited a week and then the harassing texts began to my girlfriend. for two days she received texts wanting to know when we were going to better our lives by buying their truck! even after we told them we had went with another company… the great folks at a&b motors in Lakewood… they still tried to get us to come in and trade in my other car. the salesman couldn’t even remember my name during our initial visit! how hard is it to remember Tommy? !?
