Just moved to the neighborhood and found our new groomer. Super nice, friendly and helpful. Also, fantastic job on my golden retriever cut and shampoo. She looks gorgeous:) $ 20 bucks cheaper than California too! Thanks Muddy Paws.

The BEST! I won’t take my dog anywhere else. I have used their self serve facilities in the past which are great, with ramps and good sized tubs for my large German shepherd. The grooming services are one of the best I have ever used. Carol is so compassionate, takes her time with my dog who has had orthopedic issues ever since I have been bringing him here. She does an amazing job grooming him and removing all the undercoat, she is patient with him (allows him to lay down and rest) and he is never stressed when I pick him up. He recently lost a hind leg and I’ve been reluctant to put him through grooming. I just did it this week… I will only allow Carol to do it. She did not disappoint… he looks and feels handsome and she was so loving and kind in her treatment of him. I also want to give a shout out to Iris who has always been so gracious and helpful when I do self washing, scheduling, ect. These ladies treat my dog like he’s their own! Thank you from Deuce.

I am a dog. A very good dog and I usually love getting beautiful at groomers. My mom took me to Muddy Paws Bath House and they did not trim the hair on my body or legs and only trimmed the right side of my neck and head so I was not proud of my hair cut. I did not look beautiful, which is really hard to accomplish because I’m a lovely, kind dog. When my mom made an appointment to take me back, the lady told us they would not make me wait too long because they did not take care of me the first time. The second visit was worse because they did make me wait more than 3 hours and I got anxious and started barking for my mom. They called my mom before they gave me a second dose of rescue remedy and she got worried and came to get me right away. When she came in to Muddy Paws, I was still getting groomed and my mom overheard the ladies saying they did not want me to come back ‘because my mom did not have good vibes’. My mom asked the ladies if they were kind to me and they did not answer her, which is good because she would have gotten really upset if they told her the truth. I was so happy to see my mom, I sat in her lap the whole way home and she didn’t care, even though I weigh a lot! My mom is looking for another groomer beauty parlor for me, but I’m not sure if I will go in because of the scary experience I had at Muddy Paws.
If you love your dog, please don’t make them go to Muddy Paws because they are not nice and they freaked me out and made me look ugly!!!

We love Muddy Paws! We started taking our dog, Jasmine, to Muddy Paws several years ago. You can tell they love dogs here and have lots of experience with different breeds. It’s super clean with a great backyard area for the dogs. As well as washing and grooming, they also stock great products and have regularly scheduled teeth cleaning clinics.

I have been bringing my dog Fletcher there for the past 4 years, but found out today that the groomer he has been seeing particular groomer he has always seen sadly left. It has been my experience that Muddy Paws has the highest regard for the dogs in their care and operates with integrity.
I am especially impressed with the owner’s generous dedication to charity work for animals. This speaks highly to the compassion and good character that is the heart of this business.

I love the new location; it’s so cute. Also, I really like what the owner does as far as supporting homeless pets and holding special events in her location.

Our ShihPoo, Petey has very weird, wirey fur, crazy ears, and is a little tornado if i try to groom him. But he always comes out of Muddy Paws looking like a little gent. He is usually done in an hour, for a basic bath, nails, pooper, and face cleanup. And very affordable. I love the place too, especially the art yard out back, and shop up front. We always have a look, weather permitting.

Hi Zia, I received your phone call. Thank you for referring me back to Fido’s Grub and Tub. I actually took my dog back to them after receiving such a horrible service at your place.
At Fido’s I picked my dog up in one hour her coat was perfectly groomed and her nails were clipped and buffed to perfection.
Just to be clear, I did not take my dog to your place with the intention of purposefully writing a bad review. I seriously don’t have the time or energy to think things like that up. I am easily pleased. All that is required is for the work to be done properly.
While I did confuse FIdo’s with Muddy Paws I definitely am not confused about the services I asked for. I have had my dog groomed at other places and to be crystal clear, I am not confused about the process of furmintation. The service I received at your place was just bad!
You stated that I filled out a form when I picked my dog up. This could be true, I really don’t recall however, I was very unhappy with her appearance and mentioned it. They gave me a discount for the terrible nail job they gave her. They never asked me to bring her back until I mentioned that I had requested her to be furminated and by her appearance it looked as though it had not been done. That’s when your employee asked me to bring her back «so that the work could be finished.» This is also something that has never happened after having my dog groomed. I think keeping my dog for over 2 hours should have been a sufficient amount of time to finish the job properly.
Zia I honestly do not want you to call me again. you said that you were disappointed in my review. I understand this however, I think your energy would better spent cleaning your place and managing the work that your employees are doing. I don’t need to be called a month later to be told that you fired your groomer because she didn’t know what she was doing. Just the fact that you mentioned this and that she had had several complaints before you fired her speaks volumes.

If you desire to bathe and groom your dog yourself, this may be an OK place to go. However, don’t consider having your dog groomed there! On my first and only visit to this shop, I attempted to communicate CLEARLY to the groomer and manager how I wished my dogs to be cut. Unfortunately, I found upon returning there that my poor dogs had been shaved with no consideration at all to my instructions. It was almost as if the groomer only knew one way to shear them. Frankly, I was shocked at the time and decided to wait until the next day to deal with this. Later when I called and tried to discuss my situation with the shop’s owner, Zia, my concerns were not at all listened to. Instead they were met with various insulting comments!
I have been taking my dogs to groomers for several years. This was by far my worst experience, not only with a groomer but with a store owner.

I showed up to wash my dog on Wednesday. We had been camping for a full week, he had been hiking, swimming in a lake, rained on, and rolled in just about everything. I stopped at muddy paws before we even got home because he needed a bath so bad. I walked up to the door and realized they are closed on Wednesdays. As I walked back to my car slowly and sadly one of the ladies came outside and said they were doing inventory inside and I could wash my dog if I wanted. That made my day! They have everything you need for quick stress free bathing. There are two baths that have ramps so your dog is at your level and saves your back. The other one is lower and for older and bigger dogs I believe. The soap is wonderful, towels, brushes of every kind and a dryer. My dog is an Australian Shepherd/​Australian cattle dog mix and sheds like crazy. It’s nice to bath him at muddy paws and now have a hurt back and knees from using my own tub. And then I’d have to spend an hour cleaning my bathroom full of hair. Worth every penny! Just remember they are closed Wednesdays.

What a great place to take your dog! The facility is clean and comfortable, and the outdoor area in the back has an incredibly peaceful feel. My sister and I took our dogs on Wednesday evening for a bath and grooming assistance. It was the initial experience for my sister’s dog, and Zia has an amazing ability to calm a nervous dog. I took my 17 year old Poodle, and Zia helped me with every step of the grooming process. Now he looks good and I know exactly how he was treated.
The price for service is nominal, and the outcome is phenomenal. There is no better place to take your dog for a good scrub or grooming experience.

The ladies who work at Muddy Paws are some of the nicest people on the planet. They take extra special care with our old dog Olivia. They do a great job trimming her nails. As for the do it yourself dog baths, they are helpful and encouraging, which is really all that’s needed while I wrestle our larger dog into cleanliness.
I paid $ 8 for a nail trim, and I’m not sure how much to give our other dog a bath but it’s quite affordable.
Great place if you want to bathe your pup but not break the bank.

I just took my dog here a few days after adopting her from a rescue. she looked a mess and was afraid of new things. I had an idea of what I wanted but the groomer didn’t think it would look right on her & her hair was so bad they recommended shaving her and starting from scratch. I was expecting to pick up a bald pup. you know the ones with terrible haircuts so bad the dog looks embarrassed. nope. Piper looked so adorable! the people there are so nice and took an extra long time to groom her so as to not traumatize her. they let her slowly get used to each step of the process since this was her first groom. she didn’t seem too upset when i picked her up. in fact she was getting cuddled when I picked her up. who wouldn’t love that? my hairdresser doesn’t cuddle me at all after a cut. not even a hug.
I would highly recommend this place!

Does the job for the price. There aren’t multiple shampoos and scents to choose from, just the standard issue option. The employees are friendly and laid back.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS FACILITY! As we were walking in the owners dog literally attacked my dog. What’s worse is that I had my 7 week old son in my arms. We left immediately but then called back to find out if the dogs vaccines were updated as the dog injured my dog. The owner said yes but the blamed us for «not pulling our dog back» quick enough (our dog was on a leash)!! I almost lost it then. HOW DOES ONE OWN A DOG WASH AND YET OWN A VICIOUS AND MISBEHAVED DOG WHO ROAMS THE FACILITY!!! Horrible place, manager, etc.

This place was awesome. I brought my 13lb Pomeranian and about 70ishlb Great Pyrenees here after work to give them a quick bath. With both of my fur babies extremely fluffy, the excess hair lost while bathing is another mess in itself. Coming here, I had my own private room and the tub was big enough to accommodate them both at the same time. They had shampoos and conditioner as well as brushes, cotton balls for ear cleaning and blue stuff for the muzzles. After washing I used the gigantic blow-​dryer to dry them off. The best part– I was able to leave the towels and tons of hair behind. It was so easy! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back next month.

I only have good things to say about Muddy Paws. The first visit we used the self service wash and it was great. This weekend we brought our Italian Spinone to be groomed and Carol did a fantastic job. We will definitely be going back !

We have found our new grooming place. The staff was friendly and excited to see me and meet my dog. They completed the grooming in a timely manner and gave my mini schnauzer the best haircut she had ever had! I definitely recommend this place!

Now that I’ve taken my dog here once I don’t think I’ll be taking her anywhere else to wash her. The people who work here were super sweet to all of the dogs that came in. The woman who cut my dogs nails was very gentle, and managed to get her nails shorter than most dog groomers have been able to while keeping my dog pretty calm as well.
They have all your standard dog cleaning gear here: aprons, dog chamois cloths, dog jet engine blow dryers, etc. The wash area was kept pretty clean as well. My dog seemed to like Muddy Paws too, as she didn’t look like she hated life once her bath was all said and done.

Shortly after I first adopted my puppy, I decided I was going to give him a bath at home. «This will be easy,» I smiled to myself naively as I optimistically picked out dog shampoo, «He loves the water.»
Boy oh boy, was I wrong. It turns out that while my dog is quite fond of the putrid water found in Sloan’s Lake, the sight of filtered water and shampoo transport him to his own personal hell. My ill fated attempt to bathe him culminated with me standing full clothed in our shower, cradling my 30 pound dog like a baby with one arm and trying to scrub the shampoo out of him with the other. In that moment, I knew it was my first and last time attempting to wash him at home.
It’s been a few months since then and my puppy was starting to get pretty smelly. I had seen reviews for Muddy Paws on Unilocal and was off work yesterday so I decided to bring him over. If you’ve had a similar at-​home attempt washing your dog, then this place is ABSOLUTELY worth the $ 10, $ 13, or $ 15 (depends on size of dog). It’s not fancy, but it doesn’t really need to be. They provide shampoo, towels, brushes, and a fabulous portable dryer (and a waterproof apron of sorts for you). The tubs are a good size and they provide these quasi leash/​collar things that make it easy to secure your dog– my puppy still spent the entire time attempting to jump out, but he could never get too far!
Their location on Harlan is somewhat difficult to find if you don’t know where to look. I had mapped the location with my phone and I still drove by at first! It shares a location with a tattoo studio but is located around back.

Oh my goodness! What lovely service. I came in for a nail trim and these ladies were AMAZING! Holding my pup as he cried and whined through the whole thing (he hates getting his nails trimmed) and they were patient and through it all did a WONDERFUL job. Thank you so much for making the process so easy and lovely! We’ll be back!
Side-​note: it’s a bit difficult to find, just go around back at their new location: 4332 HARLAN ST. Couldn’t recommend more! Wonderful!

The staff is nice but the place is filthy and chaotic. These guys can probably give your dog a decent basic bath but don’t expect a professional grooming service. My poor dog looked like a mess when I picked him up. Again, very nice
staff and my sweet dog seemed happy (blissfully unaware of his lousy haircut). I like to support local business but it would be nice if the owners devote some time to clean and organize the spot and have their staff receive some professional training.

It was Sunday morning at 8 AM and I woke up to my stinky dog at the side of my bed, begging for me to wake up. After many doggy day care trips and being slobbered on, the smell finally caught up to my Rocco.
We searched online to find out who was open on a Sunday, and early enough where we could go, get in, and get out early enough to not waste the day.
We found Muddy Paws, and saw that they opened at 10. Off we go, two adults, one infant, and a 65 pound boxer.
At first we passed it, because the driver wasn’t paying attention to me when I said it was coming up, ahem… and its also a pretty unassuming front… you don’t see it until you are right on it, so you should really pay attention to the addresses.
After our scenic detour, and driving by some for sale houses we thought we may be interested in… we ended up back at our intended destination. Parking in the back, we made our way in through the back door… Rocco pulling excitedly on his leash and little baby E asleep in his stroller.
We were treated great! Greeted at the door, with dog and baby alike doted on :). It took us a minute to get the dog up the ramp, and even a few minutes longer from the ledge into the tub… but once we did, rub a dub dub, a doggy in a tub. We brushed him with the brushes provided, rinsed him down with the hose, shampooed, massaged, and conditioned. During a few shakes of excess water from Rocco, I was able to look around and notice they were really quite busy for being first opened. Its a small place, but they were efficiently moving around.
When all done, we had a few different towels and dried off our boy. The area was a mess and we were told to «just leave it, that’s the beauty of coming here «. Totally agree. We paid and were on our way.
If I didn’t enjoy bath time with Rocco so much, I would sign him up for future grooming here :)
