TIGAR Gymnastics and Cheer

This is the best gym I have been to and I would never move daughter to a different facility! I am absolutely baffled by these other reviews! TIGAR has been nothing but absolutely amazing for our daughter and our family. We have been clients for several years now and my daughter loves coming here. She is constantly asking me to sign her up for extra classes and just adores coach Morgan. The front desk staff is extremely helpful in answering all of our questions and making sure our daughter is enrolled in the classes that are the best fit for her. My son even decided to try a class a few months ago (gymnastics isn’t for him) but he had a wonderful time and learned a lot.
The gym is very clean, has a wide variety of equipment and is a comforting and welcoming environment. We have NEVER had any problems with the owner or any of the coaches. Any turnover is expected in this industry, however many of the staff members have been with the organization for years. I, along with many other parents I have chatted with, have never felt like we were being «manipulated» or like anything is unethical. It’s a shame that bitter, immature parents choose to write such negative reviews based on their emotions rather than rating the gym for what they really are.
Bottom line, this gym is wonderful and you will not regret taking your children here!

I’ve read and agree with all the comments listed regarding TIGAR Gymnastics and specifically the owner, Beth. Things have gone downhill over the past year at this gym with the loss of many coaches, team members and all the other crazy things that have happened at this gym. The owner is very unethical, very untrustworthy and a total manipulator. Any conversation you have with her she will use against you later and turn it around and make everything about what is happening at this gym the fault of other people and not herself or her business practices. I agree that everything is about her daughter and how to make her look good. If you or your daughter get in the way of her daughter, watch out.
My concern for people considering this gym and their daughter’s practicing there, what is this place teaching you and your children? Her explanations for her loss of coaches, her drug testing in front of athletes, her meetings where she tries to explain away rumors or business decisions she’s caused or made. How you aren’t allowed to watch practices to see how coaches communicate with your daughter? How they are spoken to, treated or even coached? Are they really enjoying this gym or are they there because you feel it’s the best place for them? Life lessons are made and created when you put your daughter in a gym where they will spend hours upon hours there seeing and hearing and being spoken to. Are these the lessons you want your daughter to come away with? That it’s okay for her to treat parents the way she does, how she talks to people in meetings or tries to justify what she’s charging you? How a coach should talk or behave towards you or your daughter? This will give your child the foundation on how she will make decisions in the future with employers, boyfriends, professors, college coaches and many other people she meets in life, and if someone is putting their child in this gym, then you are saying that it is okay to be treated that way, to be charged crazy amounts and to put up with her unethical behavior. Why? Why is this gym and the few coaches they have left better than a gym that communicates, respects the whole family, your daughter, YOU and your pocket book?
I’m surprised there are still people who go to this gym. I’m surprised that her behavior is still allowed in the gymnastics community. Think through your decisions on where your daughter will train AND WHY! Ask questions about the gym, the owner and organization as a whole. It is not always about what skills your daughter will be learning. What lessons do you want them to learn for the rest of their life and why?

Stay away. Worst gym owner in the country. Your rec fees are paying for her daughter and her elite team. Don’t be fooled. This owner is unethical, untrustworthy, and a manipulator. There are hidden microphones in the parent viewing area. She hears everything you say! She pits team parents against each other. She makes up lies. She will say and do anything so that no one has a remote chance of being better than her daughter. She holds others back in order to advance her precious daughter. She blatantly lied to team parents. This gym is only about her daughter. No matter who she hurts along the way. Again, stay far far away.

Really disappointed with my experience here. My daughter has been at the gym for years she did everything from summer camp, gymnastics and competitive cheer. I have been a customer of the gym for 3 years and the owner hasn’t even made an effort to even introduce herself to me or thank me for my business. This last season was the last straw. It first started when there was a change with the head coach, there was confusion about where abouts of the uniforms (which we paid for), which competitions we were signed up for and where our money was going. Beth, the owner of the gym, didn’t even show up for the parents meeting where they explained to us what was happening with our money. Instead she had the coaches (some of which are high school students) try and smooth things over with the reasonably upset parents. It was not handled professionally at all. Things were eventually worked out and the girls had a very successful season thanks to the new head coach and the girls efforts. It didn’t end there, after issues came up with a coach inappropriately touching athlete, the mess only got worse. Many parents and a few of the coaches decided to leave once the season ended. Beth invited the athletes and parents to a send off pep talk where she broke the news to the team of young girls that their coaches were leaving, their friends were leaving and brought up inappropriate topics such as gymnastics coaches refusing drug test and groping athletes. They were blindsided. Mind you this is days before the biggest competition they have ever been to. She continued to brag about how much money she has put into the gym, which is ironic because when it came to funding the girls to go to this competition she didn’t donate a dime.
After looking back on my experience with tigar, I encourage people to look elsewhere. There are plenty of other gyms who will gladly treat you and your family with respect.

My daughter did all-​star cheer here for two seasons. We loved the cheer coaches (Lindsey, Dakota, Megan, and Erin), and they really turned the cheer program at TIGAR around. However, I can only give the gym one star because of the gym’s owner. When I brought serious issues involving a gymnastics coach to her attention– blatant resume/​credential fraud, sexual harassment, and inappropriate touching– she minimized my concerns and disparaged me to staff and parents. She called me a «psycho,» a «liar,» and a «glorified legal secretary» (I’m an attorney), to coaches and other parents at the gym. She then held an alleged «pep talk» before our cheer kids attended the biggest competition of their cheer careers. She called a meeting and labeled it a «pep talk» and «send-​off» to a competition in Florida. It wasn’t a pep talk; it was an ambush. She used the meeting to denigrate certain coaches and parents and as a way to further her own agenda. The worst part? She did it in front of the kids.
The cheer manager, Coach Lindsey, had given her two weeks’ notice because of issues at the gym, and the owner referred to her (and parents who are also leaving the gym) as a «cancer.» During her pep talk, she announced Coach Lindsey’s resignation to kids who had no idea their coach was leaving. This revelation reduced several of them to tears. The owner compounded the kids’ anxiety when she talked about drug use among coaches and inappropriate touching in front of the kids. She also made not-​so-​veiled references to me and my complaints. She then trivialized my concerns and disparaged me with my daughter in attendance.
The irony is this: the reason Coach Lindsey and some parents are leaving the gym is because of the owner’s actions. If there is in fact a cancer at the gym, it’s the owner. For me, obviously, I chose not to have my daughter train at a gym where the leadership is so unscrupulous, unprofessional, and duplicitous. For others, the lack of a dedicated cheer floor is a huge issue. She promised the cheer program a cheer floor for years, but has never delivered. The lack of a cheer floor created very real safety, performance, and scheduling issues for our kids. The owner has plenty of excuses for not delivering a cheer floor, but if it really mattered to her, she would have made good on her commitments. It clearly didn’t matter. For those who were on the fence about whether to stay at the gym, the pep talk revealed the owner’s true character and pushed those parents to look for a new training environment.
The coaching situation in gymnastics has been a revolving door, and there has been a mass exodus of both coaches and gymnasts. Again, these issues can be traced back directly to the owner’s unprofessional behavior. After the pep talk, the owner told another parent that I was creating a «case» against her gym because I was providing financial backing for a new gym. This is an outright lie. I am not backing a new gym, financially or otherwise; however, we do intend to follow Coach Lindsey to the gym where she’ll be coaching next season, even if it means more drive time.

My daughter has been talking recreational classes here for over six months and we have had a good experience. The facility is very nice and clean and the equipment in good shape. We have changed class times a few times and have been satisfied with all of her instructors.
The individual class sizes are reasonable (maximum 8 kids per instructor) but the gym can be crowded at times. In my opinion there is not sufficient floor space for all the recreational classes during my daughter’s current Wednesday evening class time and her class sometimes seems to be crammed into a corner of the floor. However, the space shortage seems to be limited to the floor as there is rarely an issue with there being space on beam, bars, or the trampolines and the instructors do a good job given the space constraints.
I coached gymnastics for many years (at a gym that has since closed) and my experiences with other programs and coaching during that time limited the gyms I would consider for my own children. While I do not have personal experience with the competitive program here I observed the TIGAR coaches and gymnasts at many meets through the years. The gymnasts and coaches treated each other respectfully and were always well prepared for competition. The team girls practice during my daughter’s class time and I have observed the same during practice time and I won’t hesitate to move my daughter up to the team program when the time comes.
We have also attended several of the Tumble Tots open gym time and have been very pleased with that experience as well. The cost is very reasonable and there is lots of age appropriate equipment that the children can play on and they also get a snack. My children at both ends of the age spectrum have enjoyed this time.

What a great experience Tigar has been for my daughter! This is her second season as an All Star Cheerleader, and she has enjoyed it so much that she’s said to me, «I never want to leave Tigar. One day, I want to coach there!» During her experience, the coaches have been integral in not only developing my daughter’s tumbling, strengthening and cheer skills, but they have been a huge part in her esteem-​building. The bonus in all of this has been winners in both local and national competitions these past two seasons! We highly recommend Tigar Gymnastics and Cheer!

This gym is the worst place to go for kids of any ages. They do extremely unprofessional things to their clients and staff. Like the other poster said, they only care about the owners daughter and her coach so they can go to the Olympics. As delusional as that sounds, they have not been able to keep a good, consistent staff. In the last 5months, they have lost 7 of their main coaches. And have replaced only a few which are very under qualified. If you want your son/​daughter to do either recreational gymnastics or competitive; best option would be to go down the street to 5280 gymnastics. They have a huge rec program as well as competitive boys and girls gymnastics. Their men’s and women’s team are one of the best in the nation!
DO NOT go to Tigar! Even for a mommy&me class. Doubtful how long this gym will even be in business. There has been a mass exodus this year and they are left with very few coaches and kids.

This place is no good. My daughter was in beginner gymnastics and within the 3 weeks she was there they switched her coach 3 times. They last coach she had would roll her eyes because my daughter wasn’t able to do a perfect cart wheel. They hadn’t even shown her how to do that yet. She’s 5 and was excited to learn gymnastics. It’s hard to learn when the coaches act like it’s annoying to teach the younger ones. Overly packed. The groups would run out of room to practice. When I addressed the issue they apologized but didn’t act like they really cared that the instructors had such poor attitudes. There are better gyms out there. This one is definitely over priced for what they offer.

This gym exists only so that the owner’s daughter and the head coach daughters can move forward and try to achieve their Olympic dreams. They do not coach anyone who is not part of the «favorites». They are awful. The owner does not care, the coaches don’t care unless you are part of the favorites. They are the most expensive gym in Co. DON’T GO THERE!

Our family started at TIGAR just over a year ago. Our youngest is a competitive gymnast and has fallen in love with the sport thanks to the coaches, staff and her team mates at TIGAR. We have another daughter who is not a gymnast who takes advantage of the performance dance classes. It has been a great time saver having both girls in the same place for dance and gymnastics. As parents TIGAR has been a different experience from other gyms we have tried in the area. The front desk staff is always around to answer any questions we may have and the coaches and dance instructors are truly the best we have found. TIGAR is the best around for gymnastics, dance and cheerleading. Come see for yourself!
