I went here for the first time with a groupon and definitely will return to Dana! She did partial highlights and a cut that was phenomenal! Highly recommend and it’s super personal as it is a studio and you get one on one with her. Glad to have found my new place.

I purchased a groupon for a haircut and full highlight. I asked for very blonde thin baby-​lights, she did a great job! She was very patient and super careful. She took her time and didn’t rush. Great groupon deal, I would definitely recommend her.

I found Dana via recommendation of my hair stylist. I was looking for someone to cut my clip in extensions to make them more blendable with my natural hair. Since the moment I walked in Dana was very talkative and didn’t make it akward. She was super nice and gave her input about what she thought would look best. She really took her time her time with me and just making sure everything was laying even and looked super natural. I would totally recommend her to my friends and family.

I used to go to Dana for a few years. I like her and its next door to my house. I tried her on groupon and was happy with the color I got. However my color faded really fast and became orange blond. Every time I came back Dana said it was my water and there is nothing she can do. I was confused with that because I had the same water for years and never had orange hair. By the way place I go to now fixed the «orange» issue so it’s NOT my water. As for service Dana is always busy, when you come for your appointment you have to wait as she is only half way to another client. She is on her phone a lot, I get that we all have bust life’s and have to multitask but come on my time is also valuable and when I make appointment I want it to be about me for most part. Dana is great with purple, pink and blue in your hair. I however needed more «normal» looking hair

I can’t say enough about this place. I previously found Dana through Groupon, and just had my second trip back this weekend. Both times I got a cut with both highlights and lowlights — and my hair is the best it’s ever looked!
Dana is super helpful and ensures you’ll leave with a flattering cut and color. I wasn’t sure exactly what would look best on me (no idea at all, actually!), but Dana worked her magic and helped me choose a style that would look best. Like some of the previous Unilocalers say — she gives you guidance while still letting you ultimately decide.
As far as time spent in the salon, Dana works super efficiently (without feeling rushed), so you still have plenty of time left in your day afterwards. The price is super affordable too — as a recent college graduate, this was right in my price range, without compromising on quality in the slightest.
I’m very happy with the end result — the cut and color look awesome, and I’m definitely making this my regular place from now on. Thank you, Dana!

I regularly go to see Dana every 8 weeks and I have been going to her probably for about 4 or 5 years. I get my hair highlighted blonde, and I have never had anyone come close to doing it as well as she does. She does a lot of foils and doesn’t miss spots as a lot of stylists do. Her pricing is comparable to other places but the amount of time and attention to detail is well worth it.

I used to love going to Dana but the last two times she was extemely rough with my hair and it ended up breaking off in places. It also hurt while brushing so I probably should’ve said something. The last time I went the blonde touch up on my roots came out awful. It was a light orangy color and didnt match the rest of my hair. She was in a hurry so I didnt take the time to really look until I got home. $ 70 down the drain. I ended up going to someone else to have it fixed. I won’t be going back to this salon. Too bad because she used to take her time and do a great job.

What a great gem this place is. Went in with a groupon because I had just moved into the area. She is so welcoming and really loves her job. I enjoyed my experienced and most importantly loved loved my haircut! Definitely going to go back for future services. Plus, she offered to cut my hair shorter after she was done, and didn’t seem annoyed that I wanted a little more length off. Loved this place, thumbs up!

I’m breaking up with my stylist and have been using groupon to find a new one. I won’t get into details, but I got the groupon as a way to try things out here. Dana was very friendly, relaxed and full of great suggestions without being too pushy. She listened to me and commented accordingly, ultimately letting me decide.
I was there about 2.5 hours for foils, haircut and dry which is pretty average for my hair. I was a little nervous about being there that long because a suite isn’t very spacious. There are 3 chairs in there — a cutting chair, a shampoo chair and a waiting/​dryer chair. I wasn’t really sure if I should have waited inside the suite or outside until the other person left, but I went in and sat down. I was about 5 minutes early. Then that client left and it was the 2 of us for some time. She had someone else come in for a cut while I was under the dryer and they brought a friend so it was cozy, but not claustrophobic.
Inside this place is a bunch of suites. Just like a doctor’s building, they have a sign saying the name of the place and the suite number. Then you follow the signs to find the suite. Allow yourself extra time to navigate.

I tried Glam Rock upon seeing and purchasing a Living Social deal. I had tried pink highlights at an Aveda salon and not only was it pricey, they washed out in 2 weeks. I wanted to try Pravana to see if the color held better.
Dana gave me a great consultation, took time to check my cut, made recommendations on the color and advised me of color.
I love my hair! Dana did a great job and I’ll definitely go back.

Dana is a true artist when it comes to styling. I see all the work she has done whether it is hair cuts, colors, styles, or even make up. Any time I see her work I am amazed at what a great job she does. She is so creative in her work and makes everyone look great! She can make anyone’s style into a masterpiece.. Go see her, you will not regret it.

Weddings can be really stressful and when it is your own wedding the stress triples… I wanted my hair to look perfect but wasn’t really sure what I wanted. Dana helped me figure out how to wear my hair and made it look absolutely gorgeous! It turned out better than I thought it could ever be! She’s amazing and is more than just talented she has a gift! I would highly recommend her!

With so many positive reviews, I decided to visit Glam Rock studio after going to the same stylist/​colorist in the city (Chicago) for 5 years to save myself the drive. I had been planning to call, then saw a Groupon for haircut and full highlights. I was excited.
Upon arrival Dana, the stylist, was busy on either her smartphone or computer, I can’t remember, but what I do remember is that throughout my entire visit, she was constantly on her phone emailing/​texting or answering it. No exaggeration here people, literally every two-​three minutes. She mentioned she is busy and needed help and was texting someone to buy her product at the store, but some professionalism, please. At some points I wondered what priority was; the hair or the phone. Even with a Groupon, her prices are premium and I expect that in the service.
Onto the actual work she did. I explained how I’d like highlights on the under layers; better known as peekaboo highlights. She asked what color and I gave a few ideas and then asked, «What do you think?» The answer I received was unbelievable. «Don’t ask the girl with purple hair, it’s up to you.» I was a bit shocked at the unhelpful and very unprofessional «consultation» I received. After we decided on color she was out of the color we selected so we opted for something close. When all was said and done, I had more like «midlayer» and «almost top layer» highlights that were not at all evenly dispersed on my head. She said if I needed anything fixed, to call as I think it was obvious I was not impressed with the final product. That being said, I would not consider going back to have her fix anything after this experience; both service and color/​cut.
Thankfully the highlights are quite faded a little over a month later and I plan to head back to another stylist to get a professional style by a professional-​acting hairdresser. No repeat customer here.

Dana is top-​notch. I had a groupon for highlights and cut for $ 65 and she rocked it. She gave me the perfect color highlights for my ever-​darkening «dirty dishwater» blonde hair – warm gold, but not over-​processed. She listens to what you want. I’m trying to grow my hair out, so she shaped it up without taking off too much. I also saw a client before me with a most beautiful updo for prom. Do not hesitate to book with Dana. She’s awesome. You may have to wait to get in as she’s getting pretty darn popular!

I desperately researched and thank God found Glam Rock Hair Studio!!! I, around October 2012 went from blue black hair to red. However it was supposed to be Pravana red but NEVER EVER was. For those of you who aren’t aware it’s very vibrant. It seemed that not many hairdressers in this area know how to work with it. I would ALWAYS end up with many different shades of red in my hair and no one cared enough to fix it. But yet I’m a walking business card!
The last person just made me feel so uncomfortable that out of my frustration began my research and found Dana!!!
After seeing all of her photos that she posted I knew immediately that she would do a great job.
I was able to get in in about a week. Upon meeting her, as she was looking through my hair I was telling her the history and she asked if she could correct the whole head because there’s a lot of different colors and blotchiness so that we can achieve the pravana red look I was going for!!! I’m thinking FINALLY someone sees what I see. I agreed and viola… Beautiful red hair all one color. She stated that not correcting the color is just pure laziness was all she could think of! She said she would be embarrassed to have sent me out with so many different shades.
You could see the excitement in her as she prepared to do her magic! She also taught me so much about vivid colors and how to care for it. She worked the color totally different than anyone ever did before. Its vibrant and oh my gosh… RED! LOL She is amazing at working with those vibrant colors!!! Also so much more, just a hidden gem.
The only negative which I did tell her that the color was left on my face and neck and I didn’t like that at all because I couldn’t pick up my hair. We spoke through text and she did apologize which meant a lot to me.
Also negative the next day I worked out the color was dripping all over my face!!! Good thing it was at home.
so don’t know if it was because she didn’t rinse enough or if that’s just is with vibrant colors for the first time. After I washed and blow dried my hair, I must say I’m beyond happy to no longer see red on my bed sheets!!! That ALWAYS happened before! I didn’t know better. So to anyone getting vibrant colors it’s definitely a technique to it and she knows it! check out the photos for yourself on her website.

Dana is high energy and she did a great job on my hair. She knew exactly what to do and what I needed. She was very friendly; this was my first visit and I felt very at ease.
I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone and I have been everywhere from Oak Street to Oak Brook and yes-​even to Great Clips. I’ll be going back to Glam Rock.

Just got my DivaCut from Glam Rock and I love it. Unlike other places, the emphasis was on the cut, not on selling the product. Dana did an excellent job and my hair looks great whether I wear it the DivaCurl way or not. In addition, Dana is a wonderful artist that has a great eye for turning «OMG you call that curly hair??» to a work of art. I’ve also seen her work her magic on straight hair so she’s got great versatility.
Oh yea, and her prices are fantastic.

Seriously though… I came here with a Groupon deal for a full highlight and cut. She looked at my hair right away and started offering suggestions. As someone who is new to long and highlighted hair, she broke everything down for me and gave me a bunch of options (since I clearly had no idea what I was talking about). She was friendly about it, even though I was a complete idiot.
I ended up really getting a partial highlight, since that’s what I really wanted, but she uses SO many foils for it. You really, REALLY get your money’s worth for a partial, just FYI. She was really fast at it too, considering how many foils she put on my head. The highlights are seriously the best I’ve ever had, I’m insanely impressed.
I also had really damaged, plain-​jane hair. It was long and one length. She offered a bunch of suggestions, and I finally just told her that I trusted her to do something hip and cool, while also keeping in mind that I work in an office and can’t have a mohawk :) And voila! I have the best haircut I’ve had since 2009 (seriously). I was so excited leaving her small little studio, I wanted to hug her.
Ladies (and gents, of course), Dana is hip and knows how to cut hair in 2013. She knows the trends and will have you looking 100% fab and trendy. Her prices are on par with what most places charge (minus high end salons). I’m sold, and I’ll continue to go to her forever.

I just came back from this salon and am very satisfied with the results! Dana is very friendly and she knows what to do with hair. Her prices are also not bad and she has these regular customer & referral discounts that she gives out.

Dana has been cutting and styling my hair for over four years and I recommend her to everyone I possibly can. Being a guy its very easy to think you can get away with going to Supercuts to get a $ 9 hair cut and everything will be just fine. That is simply not the case when you realize you look like you have a $ 9 haircut. Over the years she has been nothing but professional and attentive to all the different styles and cuts I have asked her to do; ranging from conservative to extreme. I enjoy the setting at Glam Rock because it is one on one attention in a private setting. There is never more than a five minute wait as all appointments are scheduled, and it feels like stopping in to see a specialist rather than waiting for your number to be called at a deli. All friends and family I have referred to Glam Rock have been very satisfied and will continue to use Dana as my stylist.
