Used to really enjoy this place. Food has gotten inconsistent. Understand prices going up but product should not fall in quality.

Used to be good… Went downhill and is staying there. Too bad! The $ 8 chicken salad has gone from a good meal to «where’s the lettuce»? We used to be regulars but have found greener pastures.

Food is great and service is alright, but other than that I recommend this place highly. The chicken Jalapeño burger and mozzarella sticks are God sent.

Average omelette and hash browns. Not bad, but nothing special. Quaint little place with friendly waitress. Inside needs some sprucing up.

Decent. Not my favorite spot. Was sad to hear they buy their biscuit gravy premade. That to me is the tell tale sign on a spot. Breakfast– It was decent. A pretty straight forward egg and bacon dish with hash browns. The hash browns were nothing special. The price was decent though. Décor/Ambiance– Typical diner style décor. Was fairly busy and seemed like a local hangout with lots of regulars. I liked that part of it. Service– was great. Fast and hot food as usual. Pay up front. Nothing to complain about here. Overall, I would love to try more of their soups and lunch menu items. Maybe a coney but, I didn’t think it was my favorite diner style coney island. I will keep looking when in town.

They definitely know how to make things to order. My husband’s eggs were actually over easy and my hash was actually well done. Good was delicious all around and the service was excellent. Prompt without being over-bearing! It was our first time here and we will be regulars from now on!

I went to Nick & Tony’s once before, but I didn’t get the French toast that everyone raves about, so I went back to try it. I only waited about 5 – 10 minutes to be seated, but I waited an extraordinarily long time for my meal — it was a good 30 minutes, which for a coney, is an eternity. I walked in at just 11:00 and my meal didn’t come until 11:45! And, it was ok. Not outstanding, but not bad. Perhaps I expect too much when I order French toast because when I was a kid, there was a restaurant called The Egg and I that had the best french toast ever. It was very thick, cinnamony, a little crunchy on the outside. I’ve been looking for it for 40 years, to no avail. This sourdough French toast was not very thick at all. In fact, it looked like ordinary sandwich bread. I did like the cinnamon sugar coating, though. I also ordered scrambled eggs(which were round. Odd) and sausage patties. I really did enjoy the sausage; they were probably overdone for most people, but I liked the crunchy edges. As others have said, it’s definitely a place where people know each other — and least 2 groups met each other while I was there. But, as it’s quite a way from where I live and not really worth the trip for the fare, I don’t think I will be one of them.

We love this place. We mostly come here for breakfast. They don’t take names, you stand in line and seat yourself when a table opens up. It has a small inside seating area. The food is consistently good. My husband always orders the Eggs Benedict. I switch It up between breakfast and lunch items. Great service and friendly servers.

I’ve been going to Nick & Tony’s, for about 3 years. If you are looking for Breakfast, Lunch or for an early Dinner, there is something on the menu, or their daily specials board for almost everyone. Mondays Sliders, and Tuesdays Coney Dogs are among my favorites. Nick & Tonys Chicken Parmesan with Texas Toast Garlic bread, & salad(best ranch dressing around) is another item you should try. I’ve had many of the breakfast items, and a egg sandwich they have made specifically at my request that isn’t on the menu. But my favorite, is their Corned beef hash made with green peppers and onions. Nick & Tonys is a small, but quaint Coney Island with a wonderful group of wait staff. If you’re a regular they call you by name. If you’re not a regular, then they treat you as if you are one. During those beautiful Michigan Spring, Summer, or Fall mornings and days if you enjoy eating outside. Try one of the patio tables. To sum up this review, if you’ve not been to Nick & Tonys yet. Then what are you waiting for a special invitation? Ok consider yourself invited. :-)

I didn’t believe the reviews since the place is a tiny little pole barn with windows, but I must say the fish & chips is incredible. I think the breading has curry in it based on the color and flavor. Sure it’s still just a coney dog place so you probably won’t cross shop with The Root, but this place is solid good food.

The first time I ate here I ordered the patty melt and when it came out I was… underwhelmed. Thin slices of rye bread, diced onion, processed Swiss, thin burger patty. Then I tasted it. I have never been so wrong about food. It was hands down the best patty melt I’ve ever had, everything was perfectly balanced and delicious. Since then we’ve been back many times and consistently enjoyed ourselves. This is diner food at its best, simple and delicious. The service is excellent and they even make my wife her diner favorite(ham and Swiss on a pita), even though it’s not on the menu. Their coney dogs are my favorite outside of Lafayette(the chili is heavy with paprika, yum!) their Greek dressing is the best(though the salad itself is a little rough around the edges) and the corn beef hash always hits the spot, but that patty melt is my go-to, I highly recommend it if you’re in the mood.

This place is the definition of a neighborhood joint. Not really next to much… and one of 389,263 coney places in the D… this place still manages to always have a good crowd and put out solid grub. The service is always nice and quick… not much more to say other than get the 2 coney special!

Just got back, and was thoroughly impressed. I decided to try this place out due to the excellent reviews off of Unilocal.Let me tell ya, from what Nick & Tony’s looks like from the road… this is not a place I would have tried had it not been for the superb reviews. This place looks insanely small(and it is pretty tiny), but I was very impressed by the ambiance/décor. The service was incredibly fast(and friendly enough, though she seemed warmer to the regulars). The Sourdough French Toast with cinnamon and sugar lived up to the hype and was excellent. I will be craving some more of that tomorrow morning! The one thing that disappointed me was the bacon(which another reviewer had said was fantastic). I am a huge fan of bacon, but the bacon wasn’t fresh… seemed like it had been sitting around for a while. Everything else was fantastic, though. I’ll surely be back!

‘Where Everybody Knows Your Name,’ the theme song from the 1980’s sitcom ‘Cheers’, created a now overused cliché to describe a really close-knit atmosphere at any gathering place. Unfortunately, I can’t help but reference it, because aside from myself, admittedly a community outsider, every person that was coming or going knew someone else that was working, or eating, or coming, or going. It was a closeness that I haven’t witnessed in quite some time. That atmosphere can sometimes make the outsider feel a bit out of place, but the staff at Nick & Tony’s are so friendly and warm that you feel like you fit right in. This is a medium-sized coney restaurant on my scale. It is clean and welcoming. When I went during the Friday lunch-hour, it wasn’t ever completely full, but there was a constant stream of traffic that kept the seats about 75% full at all times. The service wasn’t rushed(perhaps I should say frantic), but it was appropriately quick for such an establishment. To test my thoughts on the food, I went for my diner staples which were a patty melt and a traditional coney dog. I also tried the Nick’s coney dog which added ground beef to the standard construction. It was all good. The patty melt was tasty and the bread was not over-greasy/buttery which can happen all too often. The cheese was the perfect gooey consistency and the burger itself tasted fresh. The coney was a good coney and I would simply stick with the traditional over the Nick’s in the future. They have a wonderful standard Michigan Coney menu and have a regular stream of specials. Nick & Tony’s may be a little off the beaten path for those outside of the community, but if you’re looking for a good coney, then I think this place needs to be on your list of considerations.

According to the other reviews, the service is normally super fast. My boyfriend and I stopped in on a Sunday, expecting it to be busy, which it was, but due to some short staffing and probably call-ins there were only two girls working, but they pulled it off. Not super fast, but not unbearabley slow. And the food was worth the wait!!! Boyfriend got the sourdough French toast with cinnamon sugar, AMAZING. He was shocked when I ordered something off a menu, without adding or taking something off. I got the country scramble. I don’t know what’s up with their bacon but it is FANTASTIC. Super smokey and just delicious.

I love this Coney. Breakfast is always fantastic and even though its a small place, I always manage to get in and enjoy my food! My food never disappoints. I highly recommend their specials on the chalk board. I had the most amazing french toast! The staff is excellent and always attentive. I’ve never had to ask for a refill or anything. This Coney is so polite on the wallet. I feel like I’m well fed and even full for cheaper than going to fast food. I highly recommend it and hopefully I’ll see you for breakfast!
