Hearthstone At the Esplanade White Plains Inc

Don’t waste time thinking about this place — it’s closing. They don’t have money to improve it for their residents, but have money to totally renovate and open at fancy apartments. The Hearthstone residents here have all gotten their eviction letters.

Hearthstone at the Esplanade is an Alzheimer’s facility not a hotel. The previous reviewer are thinking of the Esplanade Hotel.
The Hearthstone Alzheimer’s facility is wonderful. The staff is caring and my aunt lives there. I’m not going to say it’s perfect but I would recommend it. It’s benefits out weight it’s faults.

To start with the parking was closed off due to renovation as was one of the entrances. I parked my car in a municipal garage, which is across the street from a night club. In the time it took me to get out of my car, check-​in and get back to my car, my boyfriend (who was waiting in the car) saw 2 undercover cops arrest 2 other kids in the garage. I saw the 2 cop cars speed out of the garage (wheels screeching and everything). The hotel’s lobby also doubles as a senior living center. The check-​in person said there was a pass for a different garage, but didn’t have it, so I had to pay $ 8 every time I park, which is actually not too bad. It was a maze to get to my room, but I think that was because it was late night and some of the doors lock after a certain time. The room its self was nice… It had a small kitchenette, with a stove, sink, fridge, toaster, microwave and utensils, plates, cups and a pot. We didn’t use any of it, so I can’t say how those were. The room looked more like a studio apartment then a hotel. There was no DVD player, but a VHS player, which I thought was weird. We went to sleep with music from the night club every night. The bed was really squeaky, but it was comfy. The shower and sink, I hated. The water was under a lot of pressure. I usually like showers with higher pressure, but I felt like I was going to bleed from the shower. It felt like little blades stabbing me the whole shower (needless to say I took the QUICKEST showers I have ever taken those 2 days). The water in the sink would spray out quickly with a lot of pressure (like the shower) and then fade away until it finally turned itself off. It made it difficult to wash my face and stuff. Overall it was not a terrible place. The location was the worst part and then the shower/​sink. Other then those things the hotel wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone because I regard my friends and family with high respect and wouldn’t want them to have to deal with the night club at nights and the undercover cops and the showers. And lastly there was a TON of closet space, I seriously think this place doubles as a studio apartment.
