A New York tobacco cessation center — serving Putnam, Orange, Westchester and Rockland counties — providing education for healthcare providers and quit smoking resources for tobacco users.
For healthcare providers: on-site training using clinical practice guidelines, tobacco cessation materials for patients, additional education and credit opportunities, assistance on becoming a Tobacco-Free facility or campus, assistance referring patients to Quitline and other programs.
For tobacco users: resources and materials to assist in tobacco cessation, information about treatment options and Medicaid coverage, outreach support and referral to quit programs.
History
Established in 2004.
POW’R Tobacco Cessation Center is one of nineteen designated tobacco cessation centers in New York State, funded by the New York State Department of Health Tobacco Control Program.
