Bring your bike bring your dog. 10 beers to try. I enjoyed the Wicked with hints of rhubarb. White fish mountain is in view. Chicken kabobs with pineapple green peppers and onion were grilled just right. The coconut rice. WOW. So good with garnish. Live music while sitting in the sun is a delightful way to spend an evening.

This was the stand out brewery on my recent visit to MT. I came here on recommendations from several locals and it was worth the side — delicious, bold beer styles with a beer for everyone. I had the Mrs.(a Belgian dubbel) as well as the habanero ginger ale(Miss Thang) the Car Bomb Porter — all were great beers that could stand up to any brewery I’ve bee to(and there have been a lot!). They had just opened their kitchen when I visited so I wasn’t expecting the same quality of food as beer — the burger I had surprised me though, it was quite tasty. The re is plenty of outdoor seating on a patio and a lawn and they are dog friendly. Inside, being a converted house) has plenty of space as well — so go have a beer rain or shine!

While the location was a little off the beaten path, the inside was very inviting and the bartender was extremely helpful and friendly. My friends and I tried a sampler and two other beers and enjoyed each of them. My favorite was the Show and Prove, I would definitely plan a stop back to this brewery when I visit Whitefish again. Do yourself a favor and go relax with a brew at this awesome place!

Great local brewery. Loved their IPA with lavender, jasmine and rose. I’ve been touring the great American west for the past year and this is on my short list is solid breweries. They also told me that they are starting to barrel age some brews — hope to make it back someday and experience those. Lovely outdoor hangout spot and they had a live band when I was there to enrich the experience. Oh — and they gave us free goldfish! I guess they know a guy who is a rep — was pretty funny but a nice touch!

What an amazing brewery. We are from Colorado, so we are used to great craft beers. This place was by far the best brewery we visited while we were in Montana. Lots of unique flavors and choices. Lots of hops. They have a beautiful tap room, and an awesome backyard to enjoy their brews. Step away from the tourist area and find this place if you are in town.

We went with friends to have a beer. We wanted an outdoor area so we could bring our puppy. The outside area is big with an area for the kids to play. Our puppy was welcome and the sign says well behaved dogs welcome. The beer was good I don remember the name of what I had but it had an amber hue. My husband had the dark beer. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and the good beer. We will be back!

Stop by and try this beer! Right now! Taken here by my boyfriend who is a local and friends with a number of the crew members here at Bonsai. I have to say, I know we are spoiled in Portland, but I was really looking forward to what my boyfriend’s beer-savvy hometown friends could brew up in the seemingly small(but creative) Flathead Valley. From our first visit, I never left disappointed with the Bonsai brews! Everything they have on their«ALWAYS» menu is delicious(and I’m pretty sure during our two week vacation in Whitefish, I tried them all). As I told the staff, their Due North IRA is just as good as any Oregon-brewed IRA I’ve had(particularly Double Mountain’s, if that means something to anyone out there). I can see why the Lil Blonde Honey is their most popular, lightly sweet and overall delicious. I had a seasonal Wit that’s full of cloudy spiced goodness and I’m overcome with sadness knowing it won’t be there when I come back in the winter. But hey, thank you Bonsai! Thank you for having the Wit enter my life for this short visit to Montana of mine and thank you for existing in this pretty little town of yours. Keep up the delicious, hoppy, boozy work!

This little gem of a craft brewery is located just down the mountain in Whitefish. The staff there are super down-to-earth, friendly, and have a clear passion for beers. While sitting with our group of friends up at the bar, we got to sample almost all of their really delicious beer offerings. The honey ale was particularly a stand out for me, a light, easy drinking beer. The guys behind the bar opened up a few bags of goldfish crackers to have while we were there, nice touch to make the place seem casual and cool. If you’ve never been to Montana before, they have special laws about how much alcohol they can serve their guests if their location is a brewery. So order samples so you have the opportunity to try more. They also sell growlers.

wow, this place is amazing. Its in a cute house on the way to the ski hill. The space is great and open and the staff were amazing. Very friendly and loved to chat with their patrons. As for the beer I couldn’t say there was one I didn’t like. I highly recommend the honey ale and bunny hops. We could have stayed there all day.

The beer gods smile upon those who make great beer. Turns out, being displaced was a blessing in disguise. Graham has acquired the venue he initially wanted, prior to settling in at the mall, which was the former Rising Sun Bistro restaurant located at 549 Wisconsin Avenue, just north of downtown Whitefish. Due to the, comparatively, spaciousness of the new digs you no longer have to turn around and leave due to there not being a place to sit or stand on a Friday or Saturday night. The new facility’s seating capacity is leaps and bounds larger than the old location in the mall and it has significantly more space to expand, where beer production is concerned. Come summer, the fact that there is ample seating inside may be a moot point as the lot the building sits on is enormous. Because the lot is fenced in you will be able to take that tasty adult beverage outside and enjoy it under the big blue Montana sky. Heck, you won’t even need to go inside to get said adult beverage as there will be a bar outside on the porch to meet your refreshment needs too. For those people who feel the need to take their dog with them every place they go, Phydeaux is even welcome in the beer garden, as long as he/she is well behaved and you clean up after him/her. The bottom line. Combine the great new renovated space, with the largest craft brewery beer garden I believe I have ever seen, with awarding winning staff and beer, how could it not be a hit? If you’re visiting NW Montana, you’re going to want to pay this place a visit.
