I wanted to go skydiving on my birthday and had bought a Groupon for a different place but they canceled because their instructor had been hurt.
I called Skydive Dallas and was told it would be no problem to schedule my group. They just asked that we get there asap.
Everything at Skydive Dallas is handled in a totally professional way… from check in at the office, training, suiting up and especially the jump.
My dive master was Jackie and she was amazing. When she found out it was my third jump she asked if I wanted to help with the steering and landing. I did and it was a blast! She helped make my birthday an awesome experience!
The two guys that went with me had the same experience. All three of us are going back and will be jumping solo next time!
THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE TO GO IF YOU WANT A GREAT SKYDIVING EXPERIENCE! !!! WISH I COULD GIVE THEM 100 STARS!

This was so AWESOME!!! The instructors were GREAT and AWESOME as well. This was my first jump and I had a lot of questions and the instructors answered all of them. :) I did the tandem and my instructor made me feel safe and comfortable. Now the BIG question is would I do it again, Truthfully HELL NO… LOL… It was a once in a lifetime thing something I can check of my bucket list, But if I really really had to I DIFFIDENTLY be at DALLAS SKYDIVE CENTER in WHITEWRIGHT, TEXAS. Keep up the Great work guys!!! I LOVE IT!!!

First skydiving experience with them around 1.5 years ago, just now writing a review.
I wasn’t scheduled to do my tandem until 1PM, but my boyfriend was doing a solo class that started at 8AM, so I had to be there early for him. I told them that when we got there, it wasn’t a big deal, but they rescheduled me to be with the 9AM jumpers, awesome.
The class was simple, and it took a while to actual skydive. I skydived around 11AM and was with the last of my group to go. I had the guy with the monkey on his helmet. He was great and hilarious. Cracked a lot of jokes to ease my nerves. He told me to put my head back when I was ready to go while we were sitting on the edge of the plane, but I didn’t even look for one second before I put my head back. We did a few flips, fell for a while, parachute and then he let me control the parachute. We landed on our feet and it was great.
My boyfriends class took until 4PM and then none of his class got to skydive solo because the winds were too high. I get that, but my boyfriend said he wished they would have told him that that was a risk with doing solo, that it was wind dependent and that he would probably not get the chance to actually solo. We didn’t know that it’s actually common for the winds to not give you a chance that day.
They said he could reschedule for some time in the next 2 weeks, and if not, he’d have to take the class again.
His work schedule is very tight, so they gave him the option to just tandem.
He ended up tandeming, and his instructor was pretty kind and let him deploy the parachute, but that’s pretty much it. He paid an extra 100 dollars compared to me because of the solo class. Sucks they wouldn’t refund 100 dollars since we weren’t told that winds are a condition.
They also charged me extra and wouldn’t refund me the 50 dollars cause I didn’t have valid proof that I had paid before getting there.

Staff, Wait-​Time, and Cost
Staff– Friendly and courteous. Booking experience was easy and quick. I received a call a few minutes before my scheduled time to make sure I was on my way. Filled out my paperwork as soon as I got there and was escorted into the video-​learning room for 14 minutes. After that i sat with one of the instructors and they gave me detailed instructions on what was expected of me and what I should expect of them. My Tandem-​instructor was Alan, I could not have been more pleased with his experience. He was blunt but kind and his knowledge of the course made it so comfortable for me to relax and enjoy the jump. Jim was the camera guy for me. He was nice and energetic, kind of what i enjoyed about him was his energy. He kept things lively and was pumped for the video. As for the pictures and video, I cannot attest to that until I actually review it.
Time — It felt like time flew by. There was no waiting around or anything like that. We kept moving and got on that plane quite quickly.
Cost is the only thing I’d possibly dislike about this place, but what makes up for it is the second jump. If you sign up that day, the second jump is only $ 119… I signed up for it! So very much fun and I definitely recommend this place.

One complaint is the emails sent to you if you schedule a jump. I drove down there (40+) miles to figure out I arrived late. Half was my fault for not calling to double check, but I kept getting emails for a jump time out of the plane and not when to get there. In the beginning I was confused considering both said «appointment,» so I figured it was either or.
Nevertheless, besides that, top rated instructors and I’m taking the AFF course. Great first solo, nerves were calmed due to great instruction.

I’ve been twice. They are professional and take all the safety precautions. I purchased the video and pictures both times and I’m glad I did! It seems to go so fast. Watching the video is fun to share with my friends and family. If you’re afraid of heights it’s not something you should worry about in this case. You don’t feel like you’re falling. You just feel a rush of air.

They are super friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced. Best part for me was sticking your toes at the edge of the plane and falling out. Trust them because its your life in their hands. Make sure you purchase video package because it’s totally worth it!

Awesome experience! Everyone was absolutely GREAT – professional and safety conscious but light hearted enough to still make it fun! This was my first jump and I can’t wait to do it again!

Amazing first experience of skydiving, and its all thanks to the wonderful staff at Skydive Dallas. From check-​in to landing, the customer service was top notch.

For the extreme risk takers, adventurers, and thrill seekers — come to Skydive.
Just a way up north on 75, you can drive to the open fields where SkyDive Dallas happens to sit. In the middle of nowhere, you can’t help but feel like you’re deserted and that the idea of skydiving is unfathomable. But once you reach their main building, the place is packed with energetic staff, eager students, and excited first jumpers.
First off, the nitty gritty:
You’re thinking skydiving it’s obviously expensive and to those who must know it ranges definitely $ 200+

For a TANDEM first jump + Capturing footage of the jump = $ 300+ which is worth it if you want proof that you did it once and you’ll never need to again.
As soon as you decide that you want to willingly jump out of a perfectly good plane, the staff will ask you to fill out paperwork pretty much signing off that you won’t sue Skydive Dallas if you are injured or if you die. And I have to tell you that they stress that quite clearly so jump at your own risk.
Once that’s done, you pay and are taken to a room where a very exuberant, witty, and kind teacher breaks down the details of what you’re expecting to do. You’ll watch a video that goes into more detail about the jump and then you’re asked to practice the 3 motions necessary for the jump. I am really glad they decided to practice the motions because it’s really important not to die.
From there, you’ve completed the mini class where you are then led to the «Red Carpet» which is a waiting area for you to sit. This is where you’ll meet your camera person and the person jumping with you. We waited for a really long time before we were even suited. But you’re able to chill, drink, snack, and observe the experienced jumpers. A few of my friends were even able to play ping pong while waiting.
Once you’re called and suited up, pretty much everything you learned in the last few hours will be put to the test. As you ascend the plane, the adrenaline is pumping and let me just tell you that the seconds that your legs are just dangling loosely off the plane 13,500 ft off the ground are so fast that you won’t have to time to be scared. The experience is AMAZING and truly worth every penny. I recommend not eating right before and wearing athletic clothes. No jewelry, no make up, and a hair band are key. The staff are extremely supportive and even as you’re in the air they will instruct you and tell you everything.
Little big bonus? If you fill out their survey after you jump you get a SkyDive Dallas mug or shot glass. Now you can shamelessly say you did the jump for free stuff.

All I can is wow, Skydiving is an amazing experience!
This was my 2^nd Tandem jump and it was even better than the first!!!
They were so helpful and really take caution and safety seriously!
I think the experience should be left up to the jumper, so I am just going to say, this is the place you want to go to jump out of a plane and maybe land on your feet… Well I did… Some people do face plants, some do butt plants… but whatever you fancy, it is a must do before you die.
All the staff was amazing and they even had a lil kitchen where they sold Breakfast… umm maybe after, dont really want to throw up and have it land on me when I open chute lol
It is out in the middle of nowhere so the view is just okay, not too much to see, but all the equiptment was new and not ripped or ghettofied.
MUST GO!!!

I’ve only gone once, a few years ago, but it’s an experience I’ll probably remember for the rest of my life.
I assume each person’s jumping experience is unique, so I won’t bother to get into too many details. I thought the free fall was the most terrifying thing ever (I actually thought I was dying), but the glide down when the big canopy opens (I think at 5,000 feet or something) is one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had.
The place it self was great. I paid around $ 500 for the big first jump tandem package (video, stills, shirt, the works). 100% worth it, without a doubt. It’s not like I go jumping every weekend, so I wanted to collect as much memorabilia as possible to keep and share with my mom.
I jumped with John, and he was kind and patient. I was 100% cool until the first person dropped out of that plane. After that, I somehow left my body and didn’t get back into awareness until it was our turn to go. He was very patient as I started doing my corpse impression. When we jumped I did everything he said not to do in the air. I kicked violently and in the video you can see him to a superb job of arresting my legs so we’d stop tumbling, allowing him to open the first chute. Seriously, what a pro.
During the glide in the air when the big canopy goes, he really let me enjoy myself up there. He gave me great instructions about gliding and acted as a tour guide by pointing things out.
We had a super smooth landing, and he said encouraging things even though we both know I was awful.
They were fast about creating the video, and the picture’s came out fast as well.
Another unexpected delight was that little restaurant they have there. They made a vegan black bean burger for me that was fantastic! I would totally eat at that place if it was in the city.
Cons:

I don’t live in Dallas anymore, but when I go skydiving again I’ll definitely drive out to this place.

SkyDive Dallas is a good day-​adventure if you are feeling like doing something «out of your comfort zone».
The staff is friendly, they take safety very seriously, and the pacing is quick… because if it’s your first jump, the anticipation can stew for a while.
This was my first tandem jump as a civilian, and I was impressed by the facility, the atmosphere, and the experience as a whole. It was all very memorable.
The instructional video was fun and entertaining (although I am not sure if this was intentional).
All kidding aside, they take safety very seriously, and they go over the basics of diving positions, landing and proper gear use. If you are worried if you’ll «do it right», no need to worry at all… you will be in very trained, capable hands.
After suiting up, you board a small Cessna that has an amazingly short take-​off distance on a grass field, our door was open for most of the flight so you get a real feel for ground distance and airspeed. Smaller planes rock and shake more than larger commercial aircraft, this may frighten some, but I think it gives it a much more personal feel. The air thins out at higher altitudes and is crisp and very nice to breath.
Your instructor is spooning you the entire time, Just before jump time, your instructor will tighten you up one last time, ask you to put on your googles and helmet, and you butt-​scoot to the plane’s doorway. If any of your comrades jump first, it’s amazing to see how fast the windspeed sweeps them away out of view.
You get to sit on the edge of the plane for a moment and that’s when it all sets in, the view, the overall scope, it’s something that neither video, words or photography could ever recreate. At this point there is really no turning back and you take the plunge…
The speed is the first thing you will feel, plummeting to a terminal velocity of 120mph added with the cold rush of air and your adrenaline I have to say, at this moment you are ALIVE, your brain will fire off in a million directions, your senses will re awaken and all that is wonderful in the world is yours to behold! You get about a minute of free-​fall and your instructor might do some acrobatics for you if you wish.
The view is gorgeous, the ground is a unique quilt of greens and yellows. The chute is pulled and you feel as if you are launched vertically with great force. From here it’s a peaceful descent towards the earth, I enjoyed this particularly… you can see your friends who jumped ahead of you below parachuting as well.
At about 1000 feet you can see your friends on the ground, cars look like toys, and if you yell loud enough you can wave and they can hear you.
5 seconds before landing you lift your legs to avoid injury and it’s a smooth landing, if you are lucky you can land in a running or standing posture.
It was a great experience and if you are reading this, I encourage you to go.
Now… the reason I give this place 1 star and I personally will never return is a personal issue which to this point I still don’t understand if I was just flat out being told «No» or if they just refused to listen to me.
I am a professional video editor, photographer and graphic designer… the whole purpose of this trip specifically was to get video of the jump… SPECIFICALLY in 3D. GoPro cameras are versatile, universally popular and the 3D setup is unique and expensive. This video was intended for a large project we have in the works.
I asked politely if it would be okay for THEM to film using my GoPro, and that I would gladly pay for their video fee services. They said «No» Immediately like a DMV employee who hates their job, and that they couldn’t compete against themselves. This made no sense to me at all…
–They have no 3D video service… just HD camcorders and DSLRs
–I am paying THEM their video fee.
–The videographer /​photographer is still doing his job and getting paid. It actually would have been less work for him.
–I was willing to sign a waiver saying I acknowledge my camera could be damaged.
–I actually offered to pay EXTRA for them to do this.
–I wasn’t asking them to do anything unsafe or against any USPA regulation.
–I was saving them time and materials as I would not require their DVD or photo CD
–To add insult to injury, An employee I told me they allowed the previous week another customer to use their GoPro.
–Some of their own helmets CLEARLY had GoPro mounts, and tripod adapters. I brought all necessary adapters should there be any compatibility issues.
My rant will most likely seen as «Oh, that bitchy customer» and I will be long forgotten.
My boycott of them will not hurt their business in the least. They will continue to be successful and provide great memories.
It just saddens me that they wouldn’t even consider what I was asking.
I feel that I was told to «shut up and color» with a smile.
All this said, if you have the opportunity to go, I highly recommend it for your own personal satisfaction.

If you are looking for a place to waste 3+ hours of your life then this is the place. The only way the other reviews can be good is for the actual thrill of the jump — but if the jump is all that’s so good, then you can get a jump anywhere. I am here at this very moment and it is 2+ hours from the time we were scheduled to be here, and they just told us we are still an estimated 45 minutes to getting called to get our gear on. The kicker is that they told us to get here 30 minutes early and we did just that. Why have people waste so much time if it is not actually necessary — maybe to trap people into their cafeteria and gift shop to buy more stuff.
I’ll check back after the actual event, but right now I am not feeling this place at all!!!

Why jump out of a perfectly good plane? Why not!!!
This review, though long overdue, is much needed. I put my life in the hands of the instructors at Skydive Dallas not just once… but twice. I loved it so much the first time down that as soon as we were on the ground I was purchasing another dive!
A few years ago for my birthday I convinced a few of my friends to go skydiving with me. I had always wanted to try it and what better excuse to get my crazy friends involved? We, unfortunately, had to reschedule our original jump twice due to windy weather. Though disappointing, I’m glad to know that Skydive Dallas always has the safety of it’s customers at the top of its list.
When arriving you will fill out paper work, pay, and then be taken to a class which goes over various things to expect during the jump. The class also helps teach you how to safely jump out of the plane with out causing any injury. This is when you get various skydiving stats, ask questions, and get comfortable with the fact that you are about to jump out of a plane that’s 13,000+ feet in the air.
After the training class it’s off to be suited up. The team at Skydive Dallas will get you fully harnessed and ready to head to the plane. Once the plane is cleared for take off it’s up in the air and what seems like the shortest 20 minutes later the first divers are cleared to jump. On our first jump we opted to pay extra for video. I definitely recommend purchasing this if you can afford to. I still watch my video every once in a while and it makes me smile. Such a great memory to have documented! They even give you the option of choosing the background music that your dive plays to. Pretty neat stuff! The perfect extra touch to the perfect experience.
It’s really hard to describe the feeling that you get when you hit that cold air and start falling towards the earth. It may just be the most fun you can have with your clothes on! To defy death while flying through the air and feel the wind rush past you… there truly is nothing else like it. Such an experience! If I could afford to go skydiving once a month I would! It’s an adrenaline rush on another level.
The whole team at Skydive Dallas was friendly and informative on both of my visits. They often have some good deals for first timers and groups. If you are looking to break out of the ordinary and awaken your senses I fully recommend Skydive Dallas.

Did my first tandem jump here with a friend who was also a skydive virgin. I don’t have anything negative to say about SkyDive Dallas. Well just that the roads leading to the place are gravel & have potholes lol!!;-P It’s the country though, so that’s to be expected:-)
Staff is so nice & friendly & professional. Ernie was my tandem instructor, he’s logged over 14,000 jumps! He gave very clear & direct instructions & made me feel safe & comfortable the whole ride! I have heard from other friends who skydived at other DZ’s that they could wear sandals & shorts… skydive Dallas seems so much safer & more pro cause they are a tad more $$$ for a tandem then other places but they provide you with a flysuit, hat, goggles… everything you need for a safe & comfortable experience:-) I honestly would never want to jump at any other DZ. This place was busy with the regular jumpers who do this as a fun & enjoyable sport, so that made me feel very comfortable as well.
If you are thinking about skydiving, my best advice is go to this DZ & stop thinking/​worrying/​stressing & JUST DO IT! I made myself a nervous wreck the week before my jump, & all for nothing because it was the best experience of my life!!!:-P I already got my discount ticket for my next ride & can’t wait to jump again!!!:-) Oh & be sure to get the video package cause you have GOT to get your first jump on film or you will regret it! Best $ 100 you’ll spend! The DVD & pix I got from my camera guy were very high quality & I was mucho impressed:-D BLUE SKIES!!!

AMAZING!!! Three friends and I went on June 27^th for one of their birthdays. Everyone there was super professional, super nice! Waz was my tandem instructor. He was AWESOME! Very nice guy, made me laugh.

Skydive Dallas gives you an experience that is hard to match!
Me and my friends were greeted with the nicest and most professional service ever! I was truly impressed.
Besides the staff, the other regular skydivers were the nicest I could ever imagine. It’s a wonderful culture and enthusiastic group of people that want to share their experiences and well as hear yours.
My actual jump was spectacular, and my instructor was super cool and fun!
I TOTALLY recommend this place for EVERYONE!

This place is INCREDIBLE!
My friend and I chose it to do our first jump. We decided to skip Tandem and go for the AFF. Naturally, we were kinda nervous before getting there, but once you arrive the staff makes you feel so chillaxed it was unreal.
Everyone there is so happy all the time. The jolly attitude they all have about what they do is truly amazing. All your fears about skydiving disappear just by talking to these guys. They actually give you the feeling of «Man I can’t wait to get up there and skydive!»
Sniper John, our class instructor, was fantastic! He made the seven hour course fly by with lots of laughs and loads of extremeley beneficial knowledge. Stooby and Spanky, the two instructors I jumped with, were equally amazing. These guys have a life in them that is hard to come by.
From what you’ll gather from talking to people here, you’ll realize that not every drop zone is like this. They said the one in Houston is really good too, but besides that most other places aren’t… worth it.
The camaraderie here is just wonderful, I tell ya. They take their jobs seriously and ensure that everything is as safe as possible while maintaining a great sense of humor. I absolutely love this sport now and have a new found respect for skydivers all over.
If you decide to do it, you’ll no doubt come out more disciplined and having a sense of accomplishment you probably haven’t experienced in years. Go for it!

If you’ve made it this far, you’re already familiar with what skydiving is and you’re probably just trying to make up your mind about where you’re going to do it. Where is an extremely important choice when it comes to skydiving. You want to be certain that the people you’re going to be learning from know what they’re doing, you want to be certain that the planes and equipment are in excellent working condition and you want to be certain that you’re going to have a great time :)
This place is beyond awesome! The number one thing that makes Skydive Dallas so great is by far the people, and the atmosphere that they work together to create. When you arrive you’ll see a sign that says it’s an adult playground and it really is… but it’s not that lame swingset and sandbox that you had as a child, nah, this is infinitely better!
They’ve got the very best of the best when it comes to their highly skilled team of professionals. Skydive Dallas literally has instructors who hold thousands and thousands of jumps under their belt. We’re talking people who have literally spent days maybe weeks (Ernie?) of their lives without touching the ground. These instructors hold all kinds of records, even world records, yet they’re always very friendly, laid back and approachable. The pilots are incredible. If you’re lucky enough to be the last one out, pay attention… there’s a chance you’ll get to see the plane diving beside you… that is just something you’ll never forget :)
With regard to equipment they’ve got the absolute best. The rigs come with all the bells and whistles, Cypress II, skyhooks and all that you’d come to expect out of a world class operation like this, and they’re always maintained according to a strict schedule (just check the maintenance log/​card in your rig if you’re curious!) The riggers are top notch professionals who are all about providing you with the utmost in comfort when that chute deploys, be sure to thank them for such an awesome soft opening when you land :)
Last but not least, Skydive Dallas has you covered when it comes to ensuring that you have a great time. The skydiving itself is an insane, and incredibly addictive, experience… but after the day comes
to an end and the sunset load has landed, stick around and see what skydivers do second best… DRINK BEER! If you’re able to stick around for one of the after-​hour social events at Skydive Dallas, I highly urge you to do so.
All in all, if you’re trying to make up your mind about where to skydive in Texas… I think you just found it :)
