A List Nails

Andy is the best hands down. I’ve never had a «nail person» that I consistently went to. I travel so much for work I usually just go wherever I happen to be when I need them done. Ever since I started going to Andy– I haven’t been anywhere else! I actually let my nails (full set) grow out until I have a chance to go see him. It’s super cool that I can have conversations with him about all my crazy ideas I want to do for my job, and he listens and gives me his input. I always pick his brain because he’s been a successful business owner for a very long time. I brought my daughter with me last time for our mother and daughter nail date and he was super nice to her! I actually live a few minutes away. It’s walking distance from my apartment– although I’ve never walked there before lol. However, besides the location being close to me– the area it’s in is great. Tons of food places, coffee bars, retail stores, a movie theater is also near by. My nails ALWAYS look amazing. I always do Gel & ive tried different shapes, I’ve done the matte look before, and this time I did the popular «coffin» shape. Always impressed!

NEW MGMT=BETTER SERVICE
I came here years ago, and strongly disliked what they did to my nails. So when I heard there was new mgmt, it made me curious. Plus I had a «nail emergency» and this place is super local to me.
Background story, I got my nails done someplace else, and was unsatisfied with the outcome so I decided to see this «Andy.» (I sound like a person who gets easily displeased, but I promise I’m not, just have bad luck with nail places… sigh).
Anyway, totally glad I saw Andy. He did a simple repair and was super nice! I’m definitely going to come back to him. I’m satisfied and relieved with what he did for me. THANKS ANDY!

There are so many things I can say about A list. If you are going to any other place in Whittier you are seriously not doing yourself a favor. Andy is seriously THE BEST! He is consistent and makes sure that you are taken care of. Since he has taken over I have no complaints about his work which is never anything less than great! He’s a perfectionist and I truly appreciate that.
His attention to hygiene is also a plus and I can’t imagine dipping my feet or hands in any of these other salons in Whittier that don’t take the same precautions he does. Ew!

Andy is the BEST!!! He fixed my horrible nails that we’re done at the Quad. The shop is very clean, he’s friendly and is so great at what he does.

Under new management and a fantastic, relaxing (with complimentary wine) and guaranteed work! My nails look fabulous and I was highly satisfied with the scope of work. Very detailed without a sense or urgency or feeling rushed!!! Great music and relaxing atmosphere, which is what I crave on my day off!!! Andy and his staff as pleasant as can be with a touch of southern hospitality. The establishment is clean and very sterilized, not to mention the prices are very astonishingly sensible.

New Ownership very committed to great customer experience. Love the no hassle pricing. Upfront all inclusive pricing. If you want a CLEAN, detail oriented pedicure in a nice setting this is the place to come too. Andy has made some positive changes that are small but make a big difference such as plastic lined pedicure tubs. EVERYTHING they use is clean, disposable and hygenic. They spent over an hour on my gel pedicure. It was great not to feel rushed. The one on one time makes a big difference. If you have not been here before but appreciate good Customer Service in a clean environment, then you need to come here.
Did I mention the awesome foot massage, good music and wine? Nothing beats treating myself to an hour of pampering after a long work week.

First time here and this place is very clean and cozy. I want to thank Andy for his expert (over 20 yrs experience) and quality service. Since new ownership, there have been new features added. I really appreciate the plastic liner in foot spa as it eliminates any risk of contamination. I also love the fact the files and buffers are used only once and then tossed away for safety reasons. This is a 5 star spa and I highly recommend to everyone. Also, Andy went out of his way to mend 2 nails, which have stayed in place for 3 days. Thank you so much! Staff is very polite and friendly. Loved the massage chair, it’s definitely worth the trip and prices are very reasonable.

Great service! I got a mani, pedi, eyebrows waxed and a facial. I have been to a few places in Whittier and so far none of them have grabbed my attention. The staff here is friendly, patient and attentive. I do plan to come back when I decide to get my next mani/​pedi.

First off by saying that their staff are very welcoming and friendly. Casual and cozy salon that makes you feel at home getting a mani or pedi. By all means it’s not an extravagant salon and it sure doesn’t need to be, being in the area of Uptown Whittier.
Got the gel mani as a walk in customer and to find out they had a 10% off for first visitors. Score! Who doesn’t like discounts?!
Price was unbeatable to the service I received. I am definitely going back. They give you a members cards after paying for return customers. Good service and I’m very happy with my gel mani.

I love this place! Jessica did my gel and my pedicure and she did an amazing job! The atmosphere is so calm and collective, along with the décor. She was very nice and made sure I liked everything about nails, not only that everyone was so pleasant I really enjoyed my experience here. I look forward to coming to my new nail shop!

This is a review solely based off of professional work because the ladies were very pleasant.
While waiting for the lamp to begin my gel manicure I was offered an eyebrow wax. Sure, I thought… BAD IDEA!!! She burned my eye lid and it’s SO SORE AND SO PUFFY! Ive been treating it, so hopefully it doesn’t get infected. Girls it’s BAD!!! I’ve been getting my eyebrows waxed for over a year now and this has NEVER HAPPENED!!! Three days later, now I get to walk around with a LOVELY SCAB ON MY EYE!!! It’s funny but NOT funny and NOT okay!!!
Okay, 3 star rating for manicure. My gel nails have some missing color around the edges and have some clumpy bumps. But I will say however, my nieces nails are perfect! I’m just not satisfied and I will not come back.

My new go to nail salon. Its very cozy, CLEAN, and Im thrilled to report… NO loud tvs and techno music that are so prevalent at nail salons these days. The owner, Jessica has done my nails 3 times and I brought a friend in for a pedicure recently and she was very satisfied. The staff is very sweet and they all take pride in their work; which if truth be told, is really an art form when done correctly. Anyone can learn to slap on some acrylic but having been a recent victim of sloppy manicurists I can say that having nails that actually FIT the size of my nail beds and not being cut repeatedly is really a joy! Sad, but true. I paid $ 37 for a full set with gel topcoat which is very reasonable. They give you a card to stamp for discounts and also a few coupons. The ONLY fault I could find is that there is no a/​c and I’ve been VERY hot every time I go and I leave sweating like I’ve run a 10K. I think as summer progresses I will go later in the afternoon. All in all a delightful experience!

I found this little place by my work and could not have been more impressed! My acrylic set was perfect! The brilliant nail technician (Chi) spent the time to make sure the shape was perfectly even and what I wanted. I have never had anyone match my perfectionist nature!

There comes a time in every woman’s life where she has to find… a new nail place. It’s a difficult task, reading reviews, trying out a spot, ending up disappointed with the result — then starting all over 2 – 3 weeks later.
Luckily, A-​List is now a place I could consider a go-​to. When you first walk in the owner is super friendly, greeting everyone and if you called ahead for an appointment she calls you by name from that point forward. I have now gone twice, called ahead (only about 20 minutes) and have been pleasantly surprised that I have not had to wait long when I show up for my same-​day appointment.
There is a good selection of colors, and not just the cheap brands but also the good ones — Orly, Essie, OPI; the tubs for the pedicures are cleaned immediately after they are freed up; tools (at east the times I have gone) are taken out sealed sterile packets; and the staff is really friendly. I have really liked the (regular) mani with Michelle, and Emily is awesome (did a regular mani and pedi and they came out amazing). Overall, everyone is accommodating, offering a magazine or even something to drink. The place is long, but with only 8 stations (4 hand, 4 spa chairs) it doesn’t feel cramped; you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. Pay in cash, and you can get a stamp card; and on your first visit you get a cute little baggie with a nail file, buffing block, and a pumice board for your feet.
The only reason I am not giving 5 stars, it’s a bit pricier than the other places I have frequented ($ 25 for a mani/​pedi, where I’m used to $ 21); and if you sit at the stations and look between the station and wall it might not be as clean as it could be. Besides that, I’m totally going back — next time, it’s a gel mani. :)
