Fairly new to Whittier and just needed air in my tires, which some places have an attitude about. In and out in about 10 minutes; no charge. Also got helpful info about summer tire pressure vs. winter tire pressure. Thanks so much!

I came in with squeaky breaks even though I just had a friend do them last year. He said breaks are brand new but they are poor quality so it’s better to replace them he charged me 120 $ then I had a squeaking sound from the air and he automatically determined what it was a belt. Amazing service Mo was honest with me and told me what the problem was I will definitely be back Also those are birds whistling not the workers lol

Not happy, very dirty and had problems just rotation the tires. Really rotation of tires. Wow. Not recommended.

Honesty saved the day. My previous mechanic took me for a $$$ ride on my other vehicle.
Based on Unilocal I took a gamble and came to Adams Auto Repair. My previous mechanic repaired my Nissan Altima but never told me my engine had a cracked head. Mo gave me the bad news about the repairs and said he did not feel comfortable working on my same engine. He recommended a used engine with a lot less miles. Long story short im back on the road. Great engine and a nice smile is back on my face.

I would rate this place with 10 stars if I could. Mo is a man of integrity and does not try to swindle and upsell you like other mechanics. He has worked on several of my cars and most recently he fixed a valve timing issue on my Nissan Pathfinder in 10 minutes and prorated his standard labor fee to just 10 minutes! Who does that! You will not find a more trustworthy and honest mechanic anywhere!

I took in my car yesterday because my car was jumping so I had to leave it over night because I took it in around the time they were closing. They don’t start working on your car till you give them the okay after they tell you the price for the repair. This was my first time taking it here. I looked up the reviews and it seemed trustworthy. I am glad I chose this place because they did such a great job. I will be coming here from now on, and since my car is fixed I had my mom bring in her car as well to get fixed by them.

Moe, is a great guy, he does great work, and very detailed.
I have been taking my 2 cars, and my truck to him for over 5 years, I have tried other shops, and all of them were more expensive, and non ever offered me one year warranty on their work, the most they give is 90 days. I recommend Adam’s Auto to all my friend and family.

The Unilocal reviews on this place don’t lie! I was looking for a shop to get my brakes repaired and was originally going to come here first. But my brother and mom both referred me to Bill and Jim’s over on Hadley. So I took their advice, and boy was that a mistake. After three hours of waiting, the weasel quoted me almost $ 900 on front brakes, rotors, a caliper, and brake fluid. That was just outrageous.
I immediately called Adam’s for an over the phone quote and he got back to me within minutes. $ 300. Done. I had my car towed directly over, and they got it all done in less than two hours time.
It’s really a no-​brainer. I’ll be sure to bring my car back to Adam’s from here on out.

Adams auto is great. MO is a great guy. He is honest and fair. Usually I do my own work so I was nervous about letting a shop work on my impala. The guys installed the new short block in my car. MO was patient while I got him the necessary parts. He remembered my name every time from the beginning and treated me with respect. I will recommend him to anyone needing work done on their car. I found Adam’s Auto Repair on Unilocal and the reviews were quite impressive. I was in need of a trustworthy mechanic so I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately my experience here was quite the opposite of what I was expecting.
Upon Mo’s recommendation I had my serpentine belt replaced in addition to some other maintenance I knew I needed. A couple days after the installation, I turned on my A/​C for the first time and an unbearable squeal struck my ears. The noise subsided upon turning the A/​C off, but would return as soon as the switch was turned back on. I quickly took my car back to the shop.
Mo was there to inspect the car when I arrived and told me that the A/​C compressor had gone bad. In order to replace the part I would have to pay $ 450. Mo assured me this was merely a coincidence even though the part was perfectly fine before the installation of the serpentine belt. My gut feeling was telling me something wasn’t right.
I decided to take the car in to another mechanic in order to get a second opinion. The new mechanic, Patrick, informed me the belt wasn’t installed properly immediately upon looking at my car. Within a couple short minutes he rerouted my belt and the problem was fixed! The A/​C compressor had absolutely nothing to do with the problem.
I cannot know for certain if Mo purposely did this to scam me or if it was just an honest mistake, but either way I would have been out $ 450. I hope sharing my experience today helps at least one other person from unnecessarily handing over their hard earned cash.

Finally an auto mechanic I can trust! I took my work van to «Ten Four Auto» and they charged me $ 65 to MISS-​DIAGNOSE the problem. They were going to charge me almost $ 300 in parts plus labor. I took my van to Moe and they fixed the problem for a total of $ 75. Check these guys out. Honest and reasonably priced.

I found this place with the help of Unilocal,and noticed nothing but positive feedback from their customers. I gave it a shot with my Volvo 960, and was impressed at how Mo went above and beyond for me and his customers. The best part is that he literally shows you what’s wrong with the car and explains which repairs need to come first (good for those on a tight budget)!
I’ve since recommended him to family and friends, because I trust his work 100%. Btw, he also works on domestic cars too.
What this place sells you is peace of mind, and that’s worth every penny.

Like most people, I’m a bit hesitant about where I take my car for repairs. you always hear stories of Auto Repair places telling you that you need more done on your car than you really do, or that on top of your current problem there’s another. I looked on Unilocal and found Adam’s Auto Repair and thought I’d give it a shot. So, I took my car in, and the guy said he’d check it out, after I explained my issue (car was over heating after driving for a long period, or, overheating quickly with airconditioner running). Without a charge, he looked at what the issue was and was able to tell me exactly what was wrong. places that will take a look at your vehicle without charging you are AWESOME, and this place is no exception! anyway, it turned out that my Thermostat needed to be changed, where I thought it was actually a problem with my fan resistor. anyway, he said it would take about an hour to an hour and a half to change it out for a new one. I went to the taco bell down the street with my friend and waited, and when it was done, my car was running with the AC at max like nothing. the total charge came to exactly $ 99.00 which is quite less than what I thought it would cost, and that charge included parts and labor. These guys did an excellent job, and to test my cars heating to make sure it really was all good, I drove all the way to Azusa swap meet in 90+ weather today with my AC blasting and it ran smooth the whole way there and back!
When i was paying, I told the guy that I found this place because of Unilocal,and he seemed very very appreciative of all that Unilocal has done for his company, and said that he has had people come to him from quite a distance specifically because of the Unilocal reviews (which was the reason I went in the first place). well, here’s my contribution to keep his rating at 5 stars like they deserve, and hopefully this will send more people his way!
December 11, 2013 update review!
so, I go to D&D auto on Leffingwell, for whatever the hell reason, looking to change my entire headlight fictures. they offer to do it in 2 hours for $ 150 bucks. what the f**k? so, I say F**K THAT, drive to Adams auto repair, who previously beat out D&D when i was having my cars overheating issue, and they offer to do the job in 30 minutes for $ 60. f**kin’ A! This is truly the deciding factor. Adam’s Auto Repair IS number one in Whittier. Hell, it’s not really for me to say, because I don’t have experience with other auto repair places, but they just might be the best in Los Angeles County. The guy with the glasses (who just might be Adam himself, but I’m not sure) is a real nice guy and a pleasure to deal with. everyone here is. I’m never even going to call another place again. Adam’s is my go-​to auto mechanic!

I took my car for 135,000 miles maintenance a couple of month ago to my mechanics where is in Santa Monica.
To my surprise, my 15 years-​old Accord had quite a bit of leaks from here and there and I got an estimate close to $ 4,000.00 to fix everything.
I thought about, «Oh, no, it’s more than a down payment for a new car!!»
But to purchase a new car, I need to think about my new insurance, registration fee, monthly payment, etc.
I was boo-​hoo-​hooing to one of my co-​workers/​friends and he suggested me to see his mechanics.
«I know you live in WLA and my mechanics are in Whitter. It’s far. But they open on Saturdays.»
Well, my co-​worker/​friend actually took my original estimate from my mechanics to his and asked his mechanics how much it would cost.
I fixed more than ¾ of the problems on the list for around ¹⁄₃ of my mechanics’ estimated price! Wow, wow, and wow. It’s a huge, I mean, HUGE savings!
Mo told me what are critical to fix immediately and what can be wait for a while.
Yes, it’s about 30 minutes drive (on Saturday morning), but if I can save over $ 1,000.00 for the fee repair (my estimate was around $ 1,600.00 and I paid about $ 525.00), I definitely will go back again when my car has problems.
I hate to say, but my shop owner drives a nice, big Mercedes and Mo drives a Nissan sedan (I believe it was Altima…). I kinda see the price differences from there…

These guys are the rock stars of the auto repair in the area. I took my brother’s car in for a starting problem and being his first car he didn’t have much money to repair it. After initially making the repairs it turned out the car had some electrical wiring issues. He took it back two weeks later and the guys spent almost an hour trying to figure out the problem, eventually they found a short circuit under the dash. They took care of the problem and the best part was they didn’t charge my brother anything. Everyone was very polite and respectful the entire time. Ask for Mo and he’ll be straight with you. I’ve been taking my personal car back ever since and every time they left me satisfied with the work.

These guys are the most amazing and honest mechanics I’ve ever met. They always do a great job on my car and they are very reasonable. These guys deserve the Oscar award for mechanics. Simply Amazing. Thanks guys!

My relatives and I have used them for over 20 years. They have been honest and knowledgeable.

My family, friends, and I have been going to Adam’s for over 10 years. Frequently my dad will need service on his old car and Adam will drive to the house, leave his own car there, and pick up my dad’s car! Adam is just a nice, trustworthy person. I trust Adam and Mo to quote me a fair price and only service what is necessary, as well as explain why the service is necessary in the first place. I confidently refer ALL of my friends and family to their business.

The only mechanics that I trust. That’s the key thing, they won’t lie to you. If you need it done you need it done. If it can wait they’ll tell you. Mo & Adam are quick their prices are good and you’ll get great service.
My buddy took me here about 8 years ago and now my folks, wife, friends all come here. They are the best.
