Same bad service. ZERO stars. Do not recomend coming here just drive to La Habra 300 Bowl on Imperial. They treat people much nicer and they will Groupon vouchers

Looks Crappy from outside but it was surprisingly nice in the inside, comfy seating, kid friendly, nice and friendly workers, food and drinks not bad just a tad pricey but overall worth it, will return. Was very crowded on satrdy night had to wait a good while for two lanes so next time will try earlier in the day or evening.

Came bowling here Sat 04÷10÷15. Bar tender LAVELLE is so nice, great customer service and very attentive.
The cashier also great customer service and patient with us. We had a party of 12 bowlers so took some to get situated and the cashier was very helpful. $ 17. for 2 hrs of bowling with shoes.
Although my husband I were there a while back there was a DJ and laser lights and neon lights and atmosphere a lot more lively and fun. But they no longer have the DJ which really added to the bowling experience. There were some noticeable upgrades.
Good food, decent prices.

We tried out this place for the first time tonight and our servers were great they deserve 5 stars, thank you ladies!
but the attention we received from Aaron the «facilities manager» for an issue we brought to his attention was extremely terrible and not customer service what so ever.
The way he so called «handled» the situation was far from what a manager should do.
Our business may not mean anything to your facility but reviews and word of mouth do mean everything.

$ 17 per person for 2 hours of bowling on a Saturday night? Score!
With a group of 6 people, we managed to get 2 lanes next to each other and get in 3 – 4 games, which would have been $ 30 – 40 per person if we had gone by the other option of $ 10 per game.
This place has a modern feel to it. I love the pop music video selections they have playing; plus, they had Batman: The Dark Knight playing at one point.
I really liked the touch screen and the fact that you can set up your own games with ease without having to notify the front desk. At one point, our lane wouldn’t reset, but before we got a chance to notify the employees here about it, there was already one employee running over to fix it.
This place also has a bar, arcade, and pool tables.
Honestly, I can’t think of anything terrible to say about this place. Decent price for a Saturday night with a modern ambiance.

So glad they fixed this place up. It looks really good now. The vibe is much better. The food is pretty decent and they got a good selection of beer. A long time ago the service was ok but this time everyone was very pleasant and attentive. The manager, i think his name was Frank, checked in us a few times to see if we were all good and our waitress Clara was on point in with the drinks and food service. Overall i will definitely be coming back.

PROS:
Really nice bowling alley. It has been updated and has new technology, great seating, and a great bar. Also, the service is fantastic.
CONS:
It’s not open late enough during the week for night owls like me, and the $ 5 cover charge is really stupid.

I came here last Saturday with a few friends and we had a great experience here! Because of my last visit, I was very hesitant and was scared of being disappointed again, but I’m glad I gave Friendly Hills a second chance! During one our games, the manager, Joe, actually came down to our lane to check and see how we were doing. As he and I talked, I learned that he is a new manager there and I was so impressed with his personable way with me and my friends. Being in in the service industry myself, I appreciated his friendliness, sincerity, and even how funny he was! After talking with us, I still saw him all over the place and talking to other people bowling.
If anyone is looking for a good bowling alley to go to, I recommend this one! I know I’ll be back soon!

I created an account JUST to review this place. Let me start by saying this place used to be pretty decent a few years ago; they had karaōke, the employees were more attentive, and *gasp* there was usually an actual bartender IN the bar! Since then it’s steadily gone to hell. My boyfriend and I would go there to drink in the bar and play pool because usually there is a free pool table (due to the place being so empty), and we’d have privacy. The annoying thing was we’d have to actually hunt down an employee to ring us up for a pitcher of beer. The employees at the front desk would see us walk in but would not acknowledge us at all, and no one would come ask us if we needed anything despite us being practically the only customers in the place!
Anyway, this last time was what really ended my interest in patronizing this popsicle stand ever again. We arrived there at about 5:30pm, walked in the front entrance and again were unacknowledged. The door was open to the bar but the TV’s were off; strange, we thought, but we set up our pool game anyway. Awhile into the game I’m starting to get annoyed by the unwelcoming vibe in the bar due to a few things being off, so I headed over to the front desk to ask if they could please turn on the TV’s and to order a pitcher of beer. The guy at the desk was doing absolutely nothing and yet acted as if I was bothering him, giving me an abrupt «Yes?»
When I asked if he could turn on the stuff in the bar, he told me that the bar was not even open until 6pm, that we shouldn’t have been in there but that we could finish our pool game if we’d already started. (This was about 5:45pm at this point.) All I could think was, «Oh, CAN we? Will you ALLOW us to spend money at your establishment, really?» This is how I see it: Here is a barren, desolate bowling alley, empty most of the time, that doesn’t even seem to care about accommodating its few customers by turning on the lights for them 15 MINS EARLY! Also, why the hell were the doors open to the bar if it «wasn’t open until 6»? I said nevermind to the pitcher and walked back to get my boyfriend and myself the hell out of there; as I did, I saw one of the employees just sitting there with her friends, chatting. To sum this place up: Bad, slow service, lazy employees, employees poorly trained in customer service, unwelcoming environment, and overpriced beer and food. No wonder the place is empty all the time. I’d give it 0 stars if I could.

This place used to be a dive but they fixed it up over the summer. They added new couch seats, electronic tablet controls, new displays and new flat screens near the pins. I can’t say much for the food or the alcohol I’ll call as I’m pretty cheap when I come here with a couple kids. It would be nice to have added automatic bumper control for kids versus adult playing.

I had such a great time the last time I was there. Frank at the front desk was great! All of the staff were great! Super friendly. We did the all you can bowl for $ 12.19. That is an amazing price. The food was good too. They have some new TV’s and it looks really nice. It seems to be improving all the time! Can’t wait to bring my family back!

I live in pico Rivera and one of our cousins was in from Las Vegas and we wanted to take him bowling so we researched which bowling alley was open late and came across this one. Online and on Unilocal it says they close at 11pm on Sundays. We get there at 9:40 and the guy informs us that they close in 20 minutes. And I was confused because I had seen on two separates sources including the sign on their front door that they closed at 11. So just beware before you drive all the way over there call and check if they want to decide and stay open. Will not be back here

My girlfriend and I wanted to go bowling since we live around the corner. Wrong place to go…
The only thing same about this place was the prices and how cheap they pour their liquor. How cheap can you be to have measured bottle pourers on every bottle of alcohol? Anyway, that’s besides the point.
So we start bowling around 11am and we asked the girl in front and they kept giving us BS answers like the lanes were too busy or that there would be others coming in around that time. Really? There were 6+ LANES OPEN! The funny thing was after she told us no, she started bowling herself on one of the lanes. WOW.
Top it off the balls kept getting stuck and it would never set the pins properly. Always ended up missing one.
Will I be back? Probably not. I don’t want to go back to a lane where they don’t give a shit about their customers and won’t give out lanes even when the bowling ally was empty.

Wow this place looks nothing alike from the outside… the lanes, seating area and screens are all new! Looks like it was recently updated. Their screens allow you and your party to take pictures and have animated cartoons of yourselves! its fun and funny and cosmic bowling!

I used to bowl in a league here when I was younger. 10 years later and it’s still the same, not in a good way.
–They now have flat screens for the over head score, but they don’t provide the classy «suggestion animations» about how to hit the pins unlike with other AMFs.
–The floor consoles are still as dated as the place. Yes, they do what they’re intended to do, but limited. There is not an easy way to enable bumpers per bowler.
–This place is never open in the mornings. Their hours of operation are on average 1pm and later.
–Most of the time its completely empty inside, but when you ask to for a game they may inform that they cannot server you because a league will be here in a few hours. Seriously, who cares? I do not plan to bowl my heart out for hours. I simply wanted to play one game alone which would have taken less then thirdy mintues.
–Finally, when this place closes, it closes. I was in a middle of game, 6^th frame, and come 10pm (Closing time, Tuesday), they shut down the entire system. Not ever a damn warning. At least let me finish up. All that they started to do was vaccumming.
So if you want a shitty blasted from the past, come one, come all.

I will NEVER be back.
This being said, I am not a difficult customer and I don’t like leaving poor reviews. I am all about great business and a great customer experience.
My boyfriend and I had to pay for a sitter to spend out date night out. When we go out, we spend money! We will spend lots of money! Money is not an option here. So after being switched THREE times to different lanes because our games were interrupted by broken lanes, we still had not finished one full game. (Frustrating.) I wanted to say something to the staff, but my boyfriend is more patient than I am. We payed for yet another game, in hopes that we could finish one game and know the score. It stopped working again.
I get it that the lanes are old and I’m ok with that; its the service I was horrified by. We finally went up to the desk and mentioned these things…
1) when we first got here we asked for 2 games for each of us and you guys only charged us for one and then told us we didn’t ask for another. (We did and the customer is always right… hello!)
2) we switched lanes three times
3) we haven’t completed one game
4) we are having to pay for another game when we haven’t even played the ones we payed for!!!
The kid «Frank» on duty rolled his eyes at us and mockingly said «oh you had to move three times»…and laughed!!! He then went on to say some rude things. I couldn’t believe it. We pretty much lost it then. We thought it was ridiculous we were even paying for this garbage place and were surprised that they not only would charge is again (after our waste of time and the inconveniences) but not reimburse us!
We promptly said we were not going to play anymore and were leaving. The manager came out of his office and ended up reimbursing us for one game (the one we never even started) but no apologies for the employees behavior and in my opinion, we should have been reimbursed for it all! We never played a full game!!!
I grew up in Whittier and have a huge community following here and am spreading the word about this place! They already lost my friends huge birthday party in sales because of it.

Came here for a friend’s birthday party. We were totally expecting to get our bowlin’ on… the dude even brought his own bowling ball! Yes. He has his own ball. lol…
We ended up in the lounge area for karaōke. We had a fun time! This must be a well kept secret because there was never a line to go do a song.
I admit, I enjoy karaōke. But, it’s not because I’m a great singer. I think it’s fun to have my friends all belt out a tune admist squeals and giggles. My dude is awesome as my hype man too :-)
There are the regulars there that are obviously good singers, and of course they put our silliness to shame… But, it was good to have great singers amidst our caterwauling haha…
And… they have a full bar. We didn’t try the food, so I can’t speak about it.
Good times were had by all :-)

The carpets are dirty, the lanes need to be refurbished, and my bowling ball always ends up with a ton of acetone after a few games.
Cheap

I give this bowling alley an extra star just because it’s cheap.
PS: The «house pro» here can’t even pull off a strike, so don’t take any advice or take his $ 40/​hr lessons.

I ended a three mile walk in the Friendly Hills Bar area with a nice cold pbr. having never been to this bowling alley I was impressed with how nice the bar area and the alley in general were kept up. I don’t really bowl, but I think bowling alleys have real people in them and so I am a fan of bowling alleys. In reference to some other reviews I must say that yes bowling is expensive for a visitor, but leagues offer the real value of economic bowling– I was on a league last summer and we could bowl all the time for a couple dollars-​so joining a league seems to be the thing to do.
This place has like six beers on tap and all the ladies who work here seem nice and friendly. There were a couple male employees who were also chatty and nice–
