Andy’s Garage

Andy’s has been my go-​to garage for a decade. They’ve serviced my 1953 truck, our 2008 police interceptor and a 2006 F-​150. They could have soaked me but their analysis of problems was thorough and insightful and their solutions were honest and economical. They’ve always fit me in when I needed. help. I strongly recommend Andy’s Garage.

I have to say that one of my employees took his car to get fixed and he for a great price for a water pump. So I came here to pay for it just because. Nice group of people, yes the garage is full of cars, but what do you expect, it’s a garage.

My father and older brother have been going to Andy’s for a while now and I decided to give them a shot based off their word of mouth, and boy was I wrong to go here. I brought in a Pontiac G5 which had a water leak coming out of its dash, I brought the car in TWICE to get this matter fixed and both times I was told it’s taken care of and every time I started my car again the leak was still there.. . Decided to bring the car back in for a third consecutive time and they told me they could not work on the leak because the car’s computer is the problem??? And apparently they don’t work on my model car’s computer type, so they gave me a number to a different mechanic and the number they gave me was fake.. .. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.

I brought my Honda Civic here to get the belts and water pump changed out and they gave it back to me sounding WORSE than when I took it in.
The guy Brian showed me a worn out engine mount that he replaced but the car sounded horrible and vibrated like crazy. He gave it back to me like that. I think any car repair place should turn the car on and see how it sounds before sending it back to the customer.
Seriously, I brought my car in to get fix, not to make it worse. So he told me to come in the next day. So I brought it in again first thing in the morning.
Then he gives it back to me and it sounds EXACTLY the same. And he’s like «oh I thought it sounded a little better.» As if a LITTLE is okay??? Seriously. I was appalled. This guy has absolutely no respect.
So I was totally done after that. I took it to a different mechanic and they said the belts were installed too tightly. And after some time they figured out that the AFTER MARKET engine mount that Andy’s had installed was causing the vibrating.
Idk how it was that hard to figure out. They ordered me a Honda engine mount and it was completely fine after that. I mean jeez.
Do yourself a favor and don’t ever take your car to this guy.

I started coming to Andy’s garage with my dad in 1998 and have been a loyal customer since.
These guys have knowledge about cars and stories about cars that could fill 100 books.
I make it a point to stop in from time to time and see what new projects they are working on. They always have some sort of cool hot rod that they are bringing back to life.
Being that I do not know much about cars, trust is a necessary characteristic that I need in a mechanic shop. I have never once felt scammed, cheated, lied to, or any thing of that sort.

These Guys are great! They have worked on my cars since Andy was there. They are honest and reliable. They are a family owned business that has been in business for about 45 years. I moved to Thousand Oaks and I still take my car to them because I trust them so much. They are the best !

Andy’s Garage is the most honest garage I have every been to. I thought I had a serious problem the first time I went there and was prepared to pay a lot of money. Brian told me it was a simple fix and was finished in 15 minutes. It cost me only a few dollars. Now I have been going to him for three years and I am a very happy customer. They can even handle quite complex problems. I have seen several people as far as Seal Beach go there because of their honesty and excellent work. I definitely recommend Andy’s Garage in Whittier.

I want to thank the guys at Andy’s for being straight up and honest.
I was on my way to go buy a new battery for my daughter’s car when a good friend suggested that I go see Andy’s first to have things checked out.
1. Free of charge they ran diagnostic on the battery and the charging system to tell me that I was in great shape and did not need to spend the money.
2. They told me that even if I needed a new battery that they would recommend another shop that could do it more economically than they could!
Going forward I will recommend Andy’s to anyone that I hear needs general automotive repair.

The guys at Andy’s are good people a great mechanics. They are a family owned business that has been in Whittier for a few generations.
I’ve had them work on my classic cars as well as my newer cars and never have had any problems with their work. They also have done work on my mother-​in-​laws car and she has also had a great experience with them. They go the extra mile and make sure things are working as expected and sometimes exceed this expectation.

The repair was great and so was the price. My only complaint is that my car smelled like cigarette’s for a week after they fixed my car.
