I am a entrepreneur who started my own business because of being laid off from parker hannifen in O.C. an aerospace industry. since i worked in the tech field i decided to do a little bit of business on my own and since then its been a great experience for myself and my family and crew. Family operated and growing every year.

I have been in the painting industry since a kid my Father was also in the construction field but never had his own business. I decided to take the challenge and be the one to take a step into the unknown, its been a great ride. I am self motivated and like to work with my hands. I have a 2 year degree in architectural drafting and am great with colors. I love what i do. 2008 i have been enrolled in my masters program, since i am bi-vocation (two types). I continue to learn about my trade and the industry to keep up with new trends and colors. hope to work for you a professional company!

Garry is awesome. He painted a 5 bedroom 3 bath house, kitchen, dining room and den in under 10 days with a very professional crew. They taped the fixtures, replaced shelves and provided a clean professional paint job to sell our house.

You want details? Here you go! Your painter did a horrible job. The fence looked as though the character on, «Leave it to Beaver» did it and Beaver was eight at the time. The owner did not follow-up for a quality check. Plus, he had the personality of a sack of hammers.
A special message to the owner: You should always check your grammar… it says a great deal about a person who does not know how or when to use a noun.

Gary and his crew are awesome they gave us a super fair price to refinish a bedroom. They showed up on time and there work was beyond our expectations. They finished in 2 days as they said and the best part was how clean they left the room when they finished. I cant say enough on how great of a job they did. Thanks gary.

Customer Service F-! Gary failed to read the deal he placed on Angie’s List which clearly stated 8 hours of painting to be accomplished by 2 painters, 4 hours each! He insisted I was wrong that the ad read, either 1 painter for 8 hrs or 2 for 4. This man accepted zero responsibility, wanted to charge me for the TIME he was arguing… and the list of horrible, disrespectful behaviors and poor communication are endless. In 8 hours I got 1 coat of paint on the ceiling and 2 coats on the walls… no trim, window sills, closet doors etc. in a 12×14′ room. A snail could have accomplished more! None of the more labor intensive, detail work was done leaving the difficult stuff for me to complete! And I missed a complete day from work rather than the ½ day I planned based on the ad. Horrifying experience!

I wish I had read through the reviews on Unilocal and Angies List before trying to hire this lazy, angry and rude man. We recently purchased a six-hour painting «deal» from Angie’s List from G&H Painting in Whittier for 2 bathrooms. Both bathrooms were small. One of the bathrooms only has a single sink and toilet which we had removed for him so that he wouldn’t count the removal as part of his 6 hours.
He avoided emails and phone calls for weeks to set up an appointment. I had to call Angies list twice to get him to communicate with me.
Gary was EXTREMELY rude and angry from the moment he arrived to my home. I greeted him and he did not respond. I didn’t say anything else and I waited at the door until he said «where’s the job.» He proceeded to ask me if I had all of the materials. I told him «how was I supposed to know what I needed if he had not seen the rooms to tell me what was going to have to be repaired» He rattled off what I was going to have to go buy. As he was talking to one the helpers I asked the other if he was always a jerk and this rude, and not surprising, his own worker nodded yes.
Gary asked if I had any questions and I said «NO» not from you. He proceeded to say WE ARE LEAVING. He walked out and didn’t do the job.
AVOID G & H PAINTING!!!

We recently purchased a four-hour painting «deal» from Angie’s List from G&H Painting in Whittier for our back bathroom.
The painters were nice enough and on-time, but at one point my wife noted that the job appeared blotchy. She was assured that as the paint dried it would be okay. She inspected at the end and was again told it would dry correctly. It didn’t.
She called Gary, the owner, to ask that the painters come back by and correct the missed spots — the cause of the blotches — and the paint they’d spattered on the ceiling and window frames. Gary immediately got quite rude with her, telling her they would not come back out, and it was OUR problem. Apparently he has more business than he can handle, and therefore you get what you get.
Caveat emptor. Most other Angie’s List contractors are good, but avoid this one, G&H. We have no particular animosity towards them, but the quality speaks for itself.
Despite the guarantee at the bottom of the Angie’s List page, this contractor doesn’t stand behind their work.

We had G&H Painting paint the exterior of our house. His prices were about the same as other quotes, the quality of the work was excellent. Extremely good prep work and a lot of attention paid to detail. Workers were there everyday, very hard working. We are extremely pleased with the end result.

We had G&H Painting paint the exterior of our house. They did a thorough job of sanding and priming all the gutters, evs, and trim. Our house gets afternoon sun and gets so much damage to the wood. They did a beautiful job of painting. Our house looks fantastic. Very professional workers. The only complaint I have is that I got some of our flowers and roses broken. They put a tarp over the plants and it’s just a little to heavy and can damage flowers. I think plastic would have been better. We resolved the problem and they tried their best to be careful. I would definitely recommend them. They were easy to work with and were always willing to do whatever it took to make me happy.

Well, its been 5 days and have not received the estimate to paint my house. «Garry» stated he would mail us the estimate… Granted we did not want to start the job until a month or so and asked for several things to do around the house, does it really take this long to obtain an estimate? If this is any indication of how he does business, I’ll more than likely go with someone else!
Update… now its been over a month and no estimate!!!

We hired Garry and his crew to paint the outside of our garage. He was the third contractor that we received an estimate from and even though Garry’s bid was slightly higher, his demeanor and the quality of the bid itself led us to believe that he was the right person for the job. We were particularly impressed with how all the details were spelled out in the bid.
True to how he described his work, his team spent considerable time preparing the garage for the paint. He listened to the few concerns we had as they arose and addressed them to our complete satisfaction. We couldn’t be happier with the final result.
Before he was finished with the outside, we decided to have him bid on the inside, which needed substantial drywall repairs before a texture coat could be applied and then be painted. Once again his team did an outstanding job. We were very impressed with the drywall work, and then again with the quality of the paint job which matched the outside of the garage.
We wholeheartedly recommend G & H Painting for painting, drywall, and light construction work.
