Michiladas are on point and the portion of the shrimp cocktail was so much and the way it should be! I will recommend this place to everyone I know!

I want to eat their abondigas de camarron every day! mmmmmm. Also, the salsa that they serve with their complimentary chips is amazing! I think the reason I liked it the most is because I was made to feel very welcome, even though I was awkwardly eating alone. :)

Good food at a reasonable price… I strongly recommend the fileted de pesado a la plancha.

Comida deliciouso! Good service and delicious selection of food! Dont be shy and put some music on the jukebox. Prices are good here for the value of food! Whittier does it again

I was excited to try the aguachiles and I was very disappointed. There were a lot of flies around the table which was very annoying. The service was decent.

Nothing special about their food, maybe it was because I ordered the food to go that my shrimp cocktail and ceviche was literally full of vegetables and hardly any meat! They shouldn’t call it ceviche they should call it cebollas because that’s all I tasted throughout the tostada! Personally I wouldn’t come back.

Maybe it was just a bad time to go around 11 on a Saturday but the place seemed run down! Horchata was no good, menus were sticky and stuck to each page! The shrimp seemed boiled and quickly done! And to top it off the lady stuck her finger in my food to get a piece of cabbage out! Be normal about it and do it behind my back not right in front of me with no gloves on! What they don’t give you in quality they give you in quantity !

Food was delicious! We had some cocteles de Camaron, the shrimp ceviche, a jaiva tostada and the chicken strips for the child in the group. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. The micheladas were really good and the service was great. Will definitely come back.

Micheladas were good! My husband had the shrimp cocktail and he loved it. Even with the simple shrimp quesadilla I ordered it was delicious! Lots of flavor in everything!

Terrible service just got out of here and waitress was extremely rude she said my order came with only 2 tapatio sauces. And I was like ok… Well charge me more she said the rules are set by the owner not me !! Please hire someone else .!
This lady is the worse she also said she was the owner I really hope not because they just lost a customer that loves seafood lol

let down. small parking area, exremley slow and forgetful service. The utensils didnt look clean. I ordered a dz oysters, not the best. The botana was not spicy. Also ordered the fajita beef, chicken, and fish. Not worth it! No flavor and the meats dried out. The bill was around $ 150 including drinks. I wont come back.

Awful service will never come again! Guacamole is really sour cream. Waitress was very rude and acted as though she was doing you a favor to take your order! While there a man came in with frozen boxes if tilapia fish. The fish we all ordered was like mush! Not good at all!

Marlin taco was great. It is hard to find marlin in L.A. I tried it and I was impressed.

Excelente cómida .mi platillo faborito de la casa es la campechana… con (camarones, pulpo, pescado, surimy, callo de acha, y una dosena de ostiones… con galletas saladas y tostadas .y con su supulenta michelada con tecate .? Y un excelente servisio .gracias? SOL Y MAR

I started with a michelada and I stopped half way because the flavor they have it was not up to my standards. I’m from Mazatlan Sinaloa and every time I eat mariscos I compare to the ones I grew up eating. I refuse to have it any other way. I order a mariscoco and the plate had literally 6 shrimps and a little bit of octopus so pretty much it was all soup. I hate spending money on food I don’t like. The guacamole altata was terrible no flavor at all super bland. I wouldn’t recommend this place to any of my friends or family.

I would always pass by, look at the restaurant, and say to myself, «That place looks like its good!» One day I decided to try it out! On my first visit, I walked in during lunch time, and there was only Mexican men sitting down eating. I automatically knew, my prediction about the place was correct! I’m not saying Mexican men are experts on all food, but to see paisa men in a Mariscos restaurant, is a good indicator the grub is good! As a result of my observation I was able to confidently sit down and order. I ordered, Filete al mojo de ajo, rice and beans, a shrimp taco, and a Jamaica to wash it down. The food was DELICIOUS! I became a fan of Sol y Mar, and now I introduce as many people as possible to the restaurant.

Sol y Mar is an EXCELLENT restaurant with friendly, helpful staff! I’ve been eating here for the past 3 years, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Mariscos and Mexican Food!
Would I come back? YES!
