Montes Medical Group

I have been seeing Dr Tran for over a year now and he has absolutely been the best doctor ever! The front staff is rude and does suck! But I deal with that simply to see Dr Tran and his nurse… they are great! I drive 20 miles just to go here. He has been great with my care!

Flu shot and TB tests were injections that cost $ 52+69. I had to come back the month after once I got authorized for whooping cough immunization ($ 52?). It looks like they charged my insurance company $ 57 for my blood test. The exam by a doctor’s assistant was a $ 188 service. They also billed $ 0.02 for a pap smear as surgery.

Diana the manager moved my grandmothers appointment to a later time without calling us or letting us know of the change (which made us wait even longer). It’s completely rude and inconsiderate how she thinks she can change an elders appointment and make them wait for a longer period of time. Very unprofessional.

Avoid at all cost! I have been going here for a few months and Dr. Alex Tran refuses to acknowledge my severe healths issues. To the point where he raises his voice and exclaims there is nothing wrong with you! I started seeing Dr. Tran due to a move to the area. I will make sure to read more reviews on doctors in the future. Thanks Dr. Tran!

First of all getting an appointment was a disaster. I had to wait a near 2 weeks to see a doctor. I like that once there I was seen quickly and on time, the place looked clean and the front desk people were friendly however the doctor was another thing all together. I saw doctor Soan, she came in like she was in a rush to go somewhere barely let me explain my symptoms fully, barely even touched me and gave me a random assessment. Saying my problem was due to a pain killer I was taking but she clearly didn’t hear the part where I told her this was going on before the pain killers and she didn’t explain anything or let me explain. I left feeling discontent and unheard and fearful that my issue will continue. I will be asking my insurance to assign me to a different office. No bedside manner what so ever !

After being here a few times and without much success of getting an appointment to see the MD, I stopped coming.
Back in December I got a bad flu, these tend to get bad for me so I attempted to get an appt to see the doctor ASAP. After calling for an entire day, no kidding from 8am-​5pm, several times, no one answered the phone. I left a message requesting an appt and it was returned in 2 days only to be told that they didn’t have anyone to see me. They suggested i go to urgent care. Which I did.
After a week or so, I ended up with bronchitis. I again tried to get in to see any doctor and was told the same thing, no doctors available, go to urgent care. At this point, I had enough. I called my insurance company told them what was going on and changed MDs that same day. Not surprisingly enough, Montes Medical Group called me a few days later to talk to me about my coverage. I can see where their priorities really are, make sure they can bill you insurance for services they are suppose to provide because God forbid they don’t get paid but no sense of urgency to treat you or follow up on your medical needs. I am better off now with this office.
I will say Dr. Tran is an excellent physician,!shame that many won’t know this because of how this office is run.

It all started about 2 months ago. Dr. Soan seen my kids and advised me that they have a cough (no shit?)(really? That’s why I’m here). She suggest a humidifier and no meds. She obviously sees I’m bothered, she leaves room and comes back with these little samples. Now I’m confused. Samples but no prescription? I leave… upset!
So now I’m back. My baby has a fever 3 days from 99° — 102° I see P. A Guiliana. Here’s how it went: P. A says keep her on tylenol for the fever. Informs me that she hears wheezing so a cough is soon to come. I’m so frustrated and request to see another dr because once again they don’t want to prescribe antibiotics. So no other Dr came too see me. They send in the office manager who last year was just a receptionist… She was nice and did act like she cared. She explained: If they give antibiotic too early my daughter will become immune and it won’t work. I’m like wtf? One time isn’t gonna kill her immune system. Being that I have a whole household sick I want to catch it early before it gets worse. office Mgr says if she still has fever on day 4 bring her back and we’ll give her antibiotics… excuse my language but what the fuck is the difference between day 3 and 4. who the hell wants to come back the next day. That’s why I was there that today!!! Sucks but today you lost three patients and I will advise anyone and everyone to find another place. It might be good for adults but my opinion not for kids…

Today was our first Time and it went great! We were seen exactly on time of our appointment we didn’t even have to wait. There weren’t that many people there and all the patients ans staff were happy and nice. The nurse was so sweet and caring for my two year old she made her feel as comfortable as possible. The office is so clean and the property is so nice and calming. We had such horrible experiences with past doctors that left me not wanted to take my child there ever again. after our visit with montes medical we will be making this our permanent doctor :) thank you guys! !!

I really, really want to stay with Dr Juan Montes but its getting worse & worse. I saw Dr Tran once & never care to see him again. I had just found out I have Fibromyalgia & he laughed at me! Really??? MF!!!
Im on disability & keep having problems with the paperwork getting done. I havent got paid but Dr keeps saying he did the paperwork. Now I have a lung infection, I had to go to urgent care cuz no one was available in the office. I left him a personal message requesting chest xrays cuz urgent care doesn’t have them. He called me back last Friday night, I explained everything, he said I should get a call in a few days, well this friday came & haven’t heard a thing. Spoke to the girl at the desk, she couldn’t find that he ordered anything for me & said someone would call back b4 the end of the day… can you guess? Of course no one called & I am still not well!

So I’m leaving a review for a friend of mine who doesn’t Unilocal.Well I always hear her vent about her issues with this Dr Office. She confirmed that the «Doctor» himself is great but the Receptionist and assistants are RUDE and unprofessional. They have absolutely no communication skills. Honestly there are so many people out there that are looking for work, I don’t know why these rude receptionist are still employed here. Especially when their behavior is effecting your business. My friend is now looking for a new Medical group for herself and her family. She said she’s called to ask about an Urgent Care and was told that they don’t have one. She asked if there was an urgent care at another facility, well she was told to call her insurance group. Really, lady you work there and you don’t know about the other facility locations. I’m with another Medical Group that is great and when i call and ask for Urgent Care, they kindly give me all the information I need, plus transfer me. People, don’t waste your time with a rude unprofessional staff, you can do better else where.

This place is a joke! I called to make sure they can test for the flu & prescribe meds to help me … Arrived at appt, no test just vitals taken… Said I have the flu but won’t give me an Rx for anything unless flu gets worse… Ummm hello medical professionals all over the place say to take meds for flu within 24 – 48 hours of onset– if I wait then what?! They wouldn’t even give cough syrup for painful cough. OH BUT THEY SURE TOOK MY COPAY & WILL BILL MY INS FOR THE VISIT. Next call is to the ins co (1) to file complaint/​fit any bill & (2) to change PCP’s!

If I could give the front office staff a ZERO star review, I would. Their phone system is a JOKE, they DO NOT call you back as promised and when you DO talk to someone, it’s FULL of ATTITUDE. I’m switching doctors TODAY but have to warn you, don’t waste your time with these RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL office staff.

Both my children, husband and myself have this office assigned to us. Dr. Alejandro Montes is both of my kids doctor he is great! I have no complaints in regards to the doctor. He is Great! But, The receptionist, are something else. its like pulling teeth when getting service from them. I have been their in the morning for appointments and they do not seem busy at all. When calling to get a hold of them, it takes for ever!!! I have to hold for a few minutes and try back later. and again… That’s my only downfall in regards to the office. but, it does make a difference between a good experience and a horrible one.

I am a mother of a 2 year old boy. I had continuously visited Dr. Montes for the past two year only because of «the convenience» that it is 2 mins from home… But no more!!! This place is so unprofessional! Let me start with the fact that
1) if your appointment is at 8 am the doctor won’t get there till 9 am… So you probably won’t get out if there till 10 am. That’s 2 hours at the doctors with a 2 year old! Point number…
2) if you book an appointment 6 months in advance and when you get there for an appointment that the receptionist had booked 6 months ago just to be blamed that «you are a day too early and he can not get his shots till tomorrow» me and husband can only take so much time off of work… Ok I get people make mistakes point number,…
3) they book an appointment for us that same week for a Friday, they say «ok have a nice day we’ll see you Friday with dr montes. Come Thursday I get a confirmation call saying my son had an appt with a dr I never even heard of!!! I call maybe there was an other mistake let me call and fix it… Nope just to get told «oh we put appts with other doctors if dr montes is unavailable” — sorry but I’m not ok with that my son is use to seeing dr montes (he’s been seeing him for 2 years already) «well dr montes is not available till next week!!!» I kindly try to explain that this was THEIR problem and that I shouldn’t be inconvenienced and hoping they would make something happen! I got put on hold just to be told «sorry dr montes is not available till next week!!»
I’m sorry but I’m taking our business somewhere else. If you can choose an other provider I highly recommend it! They are very unprofessional, inconsiderate, unapologetic and unaccountable! If you have all the time in the world– then I recommend this place for you! No wonder why they have such low ratings!

I have been here only once so far, my son is 1 month and dr. Alejandro Montes was the doc that took care of him in the hospital after he was born. I didn’t pick him but he was assigned to him. I’m glad he was, he’s a good doctor, very respective answered all my questions (which is very important to a mother of a new born), he told me I was doing a good job nursing because my son gained a good amount of weight, and over all he has a really good attitude. The wait on the other hand was a pain! I had an appointment but ended up waiting an hour for my son to be seen. I don’t know who is responsible for the wait time but they need to get that fixed.

Have been to this Dr’s office a handful of times and always seen the PA Dr. Vega he is a good dr, but the staff over the phone is always rude, and they don’t seem to want to even help. In person they aren’t as rude, overall good experience just need a better front office staff to get a better overall experience from the patients.

First off when you call and make an appointment you are greeted with rudeness –_​_​–
These receptionist definitely went to those schools that are advertised on tv weekdays in the morning. You can’t even finish a sentence without getting interrupted. So annoying other than the rude receptionists Dr. Soans I would have to say is a really good MD plus her nurse that sets up everything like taking weight and blood pressure was super nice I wish I knew her name. Really cool to talk to and in a good mood. She should be the receptionist and kick those other girls out. For reals

I just called this place because I need a vaccine for a pre-​employment physical and whoever the hell answered was rude as hell. She didn’t even let me explain what I needed, she just heard vaccination and said that my insurance won’t cover it because I am an adult. I told her I called my insurance provider BEFORE calling her and was told that I can get it and at no cost because it is preventative health. She just said no that it was going to get denied. I asked her how much it would cost out of pocket and she said they were really expensive. I said, how much and she put me on hold to come back and tell me it was $ 70. Girl, let me make the decision of whether that is expensive to me or not because I would have gone and paid $ 70 but with her stupid attitude I’ll just got to CVS instead. Girl SWERVE.

I use to hate this place. I almost never was able to see my main doctor. I always got stuck with this one PA who just seem to go through the motions. He didn’t seem to care. When I first started to talk to him about my back problem, he just seem to take it as if I was making the whole thing up. With out asking me ANY questions or ANY type of exam, he just leans against the door and says «You just need to lose weight». I was so angry! So after lifting my voice a bit and asking him «so are you going to help me or not», he finally sent me to get xrays and a MRI. Well of course the report showed… Well lets just say I won’t be doing any gymnastics. I don’t think he works there any more (Thank God). I know your saying «what person was he talking about. Well no names, but his Initials are AA.
Now they appear to have made a complete 180. I now feel confident that I will get good medical care here. I was in and out with in 15 or 20 mins.
Well here’s my take.
Pros:
Nurses/​Doctors Assistant are very professional and friendly.
Doctors seem to really listen to complaints, take action and aren’t dismissive anymore.
Shorter wait times (at least mine was. 5 Min’s).
They can send your prescription directly to your local Wallgreens, CVS, or RiteAide.
Cons:
Parking lot is way to small.
Needs at least one more handicap parking slot.
Can be hard to get an appointment at times.
Note:
All the people working here are great, but three people in my opinion rise above the rest.
Smita Soans, MD & Ricardo Vega, PA-​C. They really seem to care about me and mine.
Lastly, I don’t know her last name but her first name is «Itsy». I think she is a Doctors Assistant & Phlebotomist. She is always upbeat, smiling and has a magnetic personality.
One more thing. This place also goes by «Montes Medical Group».
