Pho & Roll

The reason why I give this a 1 star is because when we were walking in the restaurant everyone stopped eating and every one stared at us. The waiter was nice but he hit my brother on the back really hard… so we ordered and the asked what we wanted and we only got 2 plates because we don’t have that much money… the waiter said that’s all your gonna get ??? Like WTF who is he to say that!!! We are paying him we are giving our DAMN money to them!!! So we are still waiting and the people next to us are done with there food and they brought the receipt so they can pay the man sets the pay tray and the people next to us said let them pay for it and the people that’s said that we’re pointing at us !!! How rude!!! And this was my first time!!! Just letting you know that I’m never coming back here again so if people ask me to go here I’m never coming!!! Oh and one more thing they made our sushi rolls like crap they just rolled it like it was a piece of garbage or something!!! It’s rude how they do this stuff and every thing was falling out the sushi roll… Just saying I rather have the ones at the grocery store!!! Well I’m never coming here because it’s bad here not lying but you guys go for it but good luck!!!

I had the lunch special (#2, seafood). It was good. The service was great. The phở was tasty. It’s really filling and it’s served with a generous amount of noodles. The sushi, however, was disappointing. I expected so much more from the crunch roll. It just didn’t taste as good as sushi should taste. There was something missing. It was a bit soggy too, but it was a hot day. Overall, I do recommend the place and I would go eat there again.

Phở and roll is my go to restaurant in Whittier for casual lunch and dinner. They have a great selection of Asian specialties including sushi. I don’t usually like eating sushi unless it’s at a nicer place, but the fish here has always been fresh and is really nicely prepared. I recently tried their Yaki Udon noodles with shrimp, and loved it! It was served super hot though and took about half an hour to cool down. They also always serve a complimentary salad appetizer which is delicious. The only food at Phở and Roll that I have not enjoyed is their Phở, a lot of people love it but I think they may put msg in it because it upset my stomach.

Service was good once they give you food they leave you alone but you can call them anytime
The phở is good love the broth and has the right flavoring on it but the wrong noodles. They used the thinner noodles
Spring rolls is a 5 husband wished for the Lao dipping sauce for it to make it perfect
The sushi was saggy and slowly tore apart. Not enough salt for the sushi rice so 3

My favorite !!!
The broth is not too salty, the chicken is cut just right, the noodles are spectacular, the crunch told are super fresh! Did I mention the sushi bar?

Great place. Great food. Over priced sake and mochi though. And slow on getting the check. Other wise love coming here every payday!!!

My favorite place to get phở I refuse to try it anywhere else. Although I have had to try it at this one place downtown, nothing compared. Staff is great and they have daily drink specials

Ok let’s be honest… we all gauge each experience with our 1^st Choice (but normally 1^st choice is a distance away) with that being said. Phở/​Roll is good-​boarder line Ok. I have my place in China Town DTLA as I’m sure U have yours. Would I come back, maybe with friends but not with wife… Broth was clean but lacked depth & service was friendly. 3-​Stars because I’m a firm believer that Fusion is good but if you do something right NO need to Fuse! –Blessings

Hands down my favorite restaurant ever. The servers and sushi chefs treat us like family, always happy and excited to see us as well as new people. The food is soooo good. I literally go every week to this place, the food keeps getting better and the service is so great. Highly recommend this place to anyone.
The environment is very cool and the surrounding area is very cool too! I hope they’re here forever!

I used to go here a lot, I’ve been a customer since they first opened their doors.
But within the past year this restaurant has diminished in quality and service.
The prices go up probably twice a year, and don’t even bother asking for a refill, because goodluck finding your server after you’ve received your expensive food.
And the health department has been there several times. At one point they had a C!
Then it went up to a B, and I still think to this day they have a B.
But still, when a restaurant has a C, something is seriously unsanitary. Gross.
Everyone has their own experiences, and like I said I’ve been there MANY times, I’ve seen their good and their bad.
But I’m writing this review because I will not be returning to this restaurant any further, due to the way it is constantly diminishing.

A group of us were in the area for an event and we stopped by for dinner before we went our separate ways.
Our waiter kind of looked like he runs the place (in a good way). He was very helpful and made great honest suggestions, and tried to stop us from ordering «boring» rolls: D
The food was delicious and fresh, and the portions were pretty generous! I probably will not go back simply because I’m not from the area, but I will be thinking about the delicious sushi for a long time!

The place looks very clean I like the ambience the plate size is big enough the fried rice is good

The two stars are for the delicious salad. That was about the only good thing about this experience.
I came here with my bf after there was zero seating at Bottle room. At first I loved the place, but it quickly went downhill with the terrible service. It definitely put a damper on our date night.
The egg rolls had a gross pork-​like substance in them, and we thought they would be more like spring rolls. The menu didn’t even specify there was pork in them.
The waiter was nowhere to be found when we wanted to cancel one of our orders. We had to track down the owner of the place to cancel it and get the check. The owner must’ve informed our waiter, and he came over to our table all confused. Very awkward.
The owner clearly saw that we didn’t even touch the egg rolls, and he didn’t even comp us for them. Will not be returning.

This place is delicious!
After some great sushi, we had the Green Tea Ice cream. Yummy.

Needed a little snack before our weekend getaway so we stopped here since we were in the area. Service was slow and they were not busy. But we ordered the crunch dragon roll and it was sooo good! The spicy tuna was the best part! We wanted to order more but we have a dinner to attend later so that’s the only thing that stopped us! The salad they start you off with is delicious also!
We hope to be back to try other menu items

RUDE SERVICE!
A new worker who looks like the big baby in «Spirited Away» is the rudest waiter I’ve ever had. He’s yelled at customers, told them they couldn’t sit in the booths, gives you dirty looks when you order and says things like «idk what that is, show me» and is excessively passive aggressive.
Also, after we had finished our food we paid and exited through the back entrance and HE FOLLOWED US HALFWAY TO OUR CAR and started saying how we should leave a 50% tip and how it’s the right thing to do. Really 50%? Telling customers that they need to tip you will certainly never give you one. The only thing that brings us back is the good food.

was prompt. Had phở & roll both tasty
plenty of Sapporo & other beers stocked
Price was unbelievable for the dinner & drinks with Saki. We will be having more date nights here. Yay

Before the holidays this place was packed for lunch. My girlfriend got a table and waited for me like 10
Minutes as I live pretty close by–
Upgraded to 4 stars because now I am a regular and the staff is trying harder. Even when they get busy like today.
CON: Service– when I arrived we asked to see a menu but got ignored. We finally got one… then we got ignored more for another 10
Minutes…so advisory my girl was sitting there 20
Minutes… A Latina woman was rushing around obviously overwhelmed…
After she disappeared for a long time, We stopped an older Asian man to ask if someone could take out order and he actually Rolled his eyes at us like «ugh more customers” — it was so obviously that we couldn’t believe it had to laughed. another couple near us say his look too and mentioned it to us late. My girl actually called him out like… Yeah people like to order to eat!
Later when we actually got our beer and food no one checked on us and forgot to give us the sides for the soup– we had to ask…
Pro– we liked the food. 8.99 for a bowl of phở and a whole 8 piece crunch roll was a good deal. They have a beer special of the day that rotates…
I will just hope this was a very bad service day exception and rereview soon… If not it would of been 2 stars but I luckily had good company…
***after this dining experience I did go again, much better service the second time as they weren’t as busy… Egg roll was a tad greasy.3.4 star but still could be a bit better
