A credit union is a not-​for-​profit financial institution that has members, not customers. A credit union is owned by the people (members) that have accounts with it and is governed by a volunteer board of directors elected by the members. Because it is not-​for-​profit, credit unions are able to offer lower interest rates on loans, higher rates on savings and fewer and lower fees. Electro Savings Credit Union is a full-​service financial institution offering: Savings, Money Markets, CDs, IRAs, Checking, Vehicle Loans, Home Equity and Mortgage Loans, Credit Cards and Personal Loans.

History

Established in 1941.

Electro Savings has been in business since 1941, originally serving the employees and families of Union Electric Company. In 2002, we expanded our membership eligibility to the community and other businesses. Anyone living or working in St. Louis City, St. Louis, St. Charles and Jefferson counties in Missouri is eligible to join Electro Savings Credit Union. Business accounts are also available for businesses in these areas.

Manager

Shawnacee started with Electro Savings in 2004 as a Teller. She quickly worked her way up to Assistant Teller Supervisor, Teller Supervisor, Member Service Representative, Assistant Branch Manager and now Branch Manager at our Wildwood office. Shawnacee really enjoys the freedom working at a credit union offers her when working to resolve members’ problems. «It is rewarding to see a member so appreciative because we could help them get a loan, or lower a payment to help them with their daily expenses. Typically, you see most of the same members regularly and they become like family! You get to know them, they get to know you and it feels good that they trust you enough to come to you directly.»

Raised in Flint, Michigan, Shawnacee is a huge hockey fan!
