History
Established in 2005.
Our «one lucky mutt» was our Border Collie/Black Lab mix, Lucy. We rescued Lucy at the age of 8 weeks from the old Animal Regulation Center in Downtown St. Louis. She was the only one left after her Mother and siblings were adopted and was scheduled to be euthanized the next day.
Lucy began to have seizures, some being much worse than others. After being treated with conventional drugs such as Phenobarbital and enough Potassium Bromide to dope a horse, Lucy was in a dazed stupor most of the day. Her coat was dull and thinning, her muzzle was totally gray, her appetite was poor, and our little girl just didn’t feel well. After being told that Lucy wouldn’t live past the age of 3, we began doing many hours of our own research, and made the decision to take a holistic approach to her treatment and her way of life.
Our little girl, who was only supposed to live a few years, completed her mission in January 2011 at the age of 13, and continues to be our inspiration.
