History

Established in 2005.

Established in 1991 RE/​MAX Peninsula was the first RE/​MAX franchise on the Hampton Roads Peninsula. We are a family-​owned and run business, with consistent ownership since we opened the doors in 1991.

Established by Al Abbitt, a life-​time resident of Newport News, RE/​MAX Peninsula brought the «new wave» of real estate firms to Hampton Roads. Both his children, Brant and Brooke, are now involved in the business assisting with the growth and day-​to-​day operations of the businesses.

Our Williamsburg office, located in New Town, opened in 2005. This office occupies a recently built office suite on Discovery Park Blvd.

Our Gloucester office was acquired in September 2013. This location had been another RE/​MAX franchise (also established in 1991) that recently joined forces with the Peninsula franchise.

We started our Commercial Division in the fall of 2013 as well. Currently, the division has 3 commercial agents — but the wealth of knowledge far exceeds the quantity of agents!
