The Market NYC

Overall this place is cool but there’s hardly anything worth buying here. All of the artists are sitting in their little stations on computers, not even trying to sell anything. Me being nosy as always… Took a peak at what a guy was doing, playing a computer game… At work? That’s not how you function while trying to make sales. The products are cool and looks like it was made my hands which makes it even better. The prices are high so these little things, it isn’t worth it. It’s large store for the building it is in!

What a nice way to kick start the holiday shopping season and mark the last few days of 2014! Thanks to Peter D. for having this «soft» Unilocal event, allowing us to gather, nosh a bit, and do a bit of shopping! I did not really intend to shop, but brought my friend who needed to get a few items. She quickly was drawn to a few items and started perusing the jewelry selections. The staff was ultra friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful! My friend was quite impressed (which is not an easy feat to accomplish) and bought several items.
I was drawn to where she was shopping, and the selections were so nice, and the prices inexpensive that I had to pick up some pieces myself in some pre-​emptive shopping for the family! I did not know that there were true bargains with quality to be found in Billyburg, but The Market NYC is the real deal! I will probably find myself back here to get some more items!

Cool space with some great shopping!
Went here for an event where they were nice enough to serve us pizza and drinks. The sales people were so so friendly. Every one of them greeted me, enthusiastically talked about the items they were selling, and happily answered all of my questions.
I thought I would get some Xmas shopping done. Too bad I only ended up buying presents for me (Hey the gift of giving includes giving to yourself, right? Right?). Saw some familiar Unilocaler faces, hi guys! Now move, you’re blocking my view of the ultra-​cute jewelry display (kidding).
The prices were surprisingly more reasonable than expected. There’s a lot of interesting items, including jewelry, alpaca scarves, clothing, terrarium holders, hats, charms made from real coins, glasses, etc.
Thanks Peter D. for holding this event and introducing me to The Market NYC! I’ll be back. Hopefully I’ll buy presents for everyone else next time.

There’s nothing better than an Elite event where the booze is flowing and the trays of good eats are coming by non-​stop. However, there’s something special about changing the routine up a bit.
The event at the Market was perfect. Such a laid back atmosphere with drinks and pizza snacks. As a reformed suburbanite, malls drive me crazy with their bland uniformity and overall boringnessness (yup…just made that up). The appeal of the Market is a confined but homey space with original vendors who make the majority of their items. Price points vary and you’re able to find something fitting.
I picked up a good number of Christmas presents and of course treated myself to something nice for the Holidays ;o)
