Lunch buffet — consistently good. A variety of dishes to keep it interesting, but I’ll never get tired of the established favorites (eggplant & tikka dishes). Freshly baked naan. Complimentary chai tea and dessert. My go to lunch buffet.

I used the Eat24 delivery through Unilocal and I couldn’t be happier! The butter chicken and Tandoori wings are phenomenal. I highly recommend this as a restaurant or delivery, excellent food, fast and friendly delivery!

The wife and I just had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch buffet at Spices of India.
Everything was very good: chicken mahkni, channa masala, eggplant.
The buffet had quite a range of dishes. I even enjoyed a turnip dish and I’m normally not a fan of turnips! The naan was delicious as well.
Our favorite item was the okra… wonderful flavor, I hope it stays a regular item on the buffet.
The décor is casual, which is just fine by me. I’m there for great food at a fair price, not the ambiance.
We will be back!

So, it has been a month since my first review of Spices Of India and my family has eaten there a couple of times now.
The food is still very good, but the price of their buffet has gone up $ 1.00 in the past month.
I hope this isn’t a response to the good reviews they have been getting here on Unilocal.
I hope it is not a portent of things to come.
At this point, they are priced more than my other favorite Indian restaurant, which has a very nice dining atmosphere.
We’ll still patronize the restaurant for the time being. Unfortunately, another price increase any time soon would definitely affect our dining preference and frequency.

This was long pending but finally found the time to write this review. I went for the dinner buffet with 10 of my friends. It was by far the best Indian food spread in Buffalo. All the dishes were absolutely superb starting from the chat to the sweets. I just regret I filled up so much on the veg dishes that I couldn’t have the goat curry to my fill. Just goes to show how good the buffet was. Friendly owners and good ambience. To add to it, the store has all the items an Indian missing home wants to buy starting from hilsa fish to papads. A big thank you to the owners and especially the cook for bringing back all those lovely memories from India for me. I will be back for sure.

Fantastic, delicious, vegetarian and non vegetarian buffet with naan, gulab jamun, rice pudding, raita, so many extras with this very large buffet, most gluten free, including ice cream choices. We were so impressed plan to go once a week now! ***** FIVE STARS FOR SURE!

Since moving to Buffalo 4 years ago my husband and I have had been to quite a few Indian Restaurants and so far Spice of India is the best.
Spice of India exceeded our expectations the food was delicious and it felt like we were having a home cooked meal at grandma’s house, nothing commercial about this place at all. Granted it’s not a fancy place, the décor of the restaurant is nothing to boast about but who cares as long as the food is freaking great! The owner and staff were really pleasant and friendly. We plan to go back there again, again and again!

Who knew this store had such a high functioning, delicious, Indian restaurant inside? Unilocal did! So glad it brought me here today.
Lunch buffet is $ 9.99, they accept orders via the Unilocal app for takeout and there’s a check in offer for a free samosa, which I unfortunately didn’t take advantage of (because I didn’t want to stuff myself anymore than I did with the buffet).
The grocery store has some serious seating inside, including booths and tables that are decent for larger groups. It doesn’t give the feeling of a divey food place inside of a grocery store; everything is very clean and fantastic. The buffet, for $ 9.99 had a large variety: chicken makhni (butter chicken), matar makhni, pineapple with chicken (which was apparently a new item and very delicious), Aloo Gobi, chana masala were all among the items I tried. I enjoy the chicken maknhi, pineapple with chicken the best. Very tender pieces of chicken and really enjoyed the masala sauce.
Everyone was super nice and suggested I go and get some ice cream too. There were tubs and tubs of ice cream for dessert. Sadly, I had to pass as I had plans on actually doing something else for the rest of the day (if I ate that ice cream, I would have fallen into a food coma and failed to get up). I wish I lived closer — I’d definitely come back. Most menu items are around $ 9.99 — so expect to spend $ 10 – 15 on dinner here, but it’s definitely worth it.
The review above is for the food part only — I haven’t yet had a chance to explore any of the groceries, but I’ll definitely be back and look forward to stocking up on some items for my own kitchen!

Great mom-​and-​pop style place. One may think it’s bit weird that it’s part of the market but to me, that’s a bonus! You get fresher ingredients!

This place is part-​grocery, part-​Buffalo-​Buffet-​of-​Bold-​Banging-​Flavors. There’s so many things here you want in your mouth. From the tabouleh (super flavorful salad) to the chicken makhani (chicken with a creamy sauce that has a nice little kick to it) to the kheer (Yummtastic rice pudding). They even had these small donut-​like things that were so soft and sugary and delicious (I was dunking them in the rice pudding). The buffet also includes tea, ice cream, sherbet and fresh, endless naan bread (which I like to dunk in their sauces — the makhani sauce when I want it spicy, the rice pudding when I want it sweet). And I want to kick myself in the face because I forgot the name of an extremely tasty, spicy vegetarian item that I could have ate for twelve hours straight without tiring of that flavor-​punch-​to-​the-​mouth.
This is a great place for Indian food novices to get a chance to try a little bit of everything and see what dishes really speak out to them. Every dish is labeled and identified (Ex. Vegan, mild spiciness). Additionally, our server was fan-​damn-​tastic. He was very kind and informative. He taught the beau and I how to make Indian-​style food ‘flavor shots’ with these round little chips that are set out at the buffet, and he personally made us his favorite version of it. It was tasty and sometime soon I’m gonna go back and experiment with my own flavorshots!
Lastly, the price of this buffet is super, super reasonable for the ridiculous level of quality. There aren’t a ton of food items, but virtually everything is exceptionally delicious and there’s a wide range of tasty options. I just … love this place; possibly my favorite buffet in Buffalo. I need to start dragging more friends here.

One of the best Indian buffets I’ve ever been to. Food is fresh, the price is an extremely good value, and the owners are really nice and welcoming folks. Definitely recommended.

This is undoubtedly the best Indian food in Buffalo. Don’t hesitate and just go for it. We tried the buffet and it was an amazing day wide variety of items.
Best desserts: banana bread, semolina sheera
Best Main course: paneer vegetable, kadi pakora ‚
Best appetizer: dahi poori, cucumber raita

I come here frequently for the lunch buffet and I’m always impressed with how good the food is. Everything is always fresh and the buffet is maintained very well. The service is always very attentive and polite and the place is miraculously clean. You couldn’t ask for a better place to go for lunch.
Also, the chicken makhani is fantastic but do your best to resist the temptation of filling your plate with only that, try out some of the other great dishes too.

This was my first time trying India food in a restaurant and I have to say, I’m impressed. I went during lunch time with my group of friends. It was a buffet style and they had a good selection of food. They even have dessert for you. The people there are extremely nice. My favorite dish was the chicken curry. I tried curry at other restaurants before, but this was beyond better. Most of the dishes there are chicken.
The price is pretty decent and I would definitely go back again! Oh, they have a market within the restaurant so its not a bad idea to do some shopping after eating :)

There’s a lot of competition when it comes to Indian cuisine in Western New York. Thus I was thoroughly impressed when it came to food here. The exterior is very unassuming, and if it weren’t for the sign outside, I would have never known the delicious food that was served here.
The food that is served here is very good. They had no only rice and naan, but also briyani, a dish I haven’t seen served at a buffet in a long time. They have all the usual you expect at an Indian buffet — Pakora, Chicken Makhani, Butter chicken, Tandoori chicken, but there were also some that I wasn’t expecting including spicy eggplant, crunchy potato and bitter melon. Also a BIG plus for me, was that instead of beef like some places serve, they had goat curry!
For the sweet toothed folks out there, there is also a generous dessert station where I found gulab jamun and kesari along with some kind of crazy Indian-​style ambrosia that tasted out of this world. They even have a freezer case of ice cream if you still have room at the end for food!
All in all, a very delicious buffet that’s clearly a winner in Buffalo!

I am a fan. This is my new hidden gem that no one knows about, except for you, my super close Unilocal friends. This resturant is tucked inside of an Indian grocery store, but don’t let that deter you, the food is good. I would say this is the 2^nd best Indian food in the area, Zaika in the Falls being my personal favorite. The food here has been on point the 3 times u have been here. I like that they have had a different variety of choices each time I have been here. They do a good job replenishing and freshening the food up, to this point nothing has looked like it’s been sitting too long. Our service always leaves a little to be desired, but I do find that to be the norm in most Indian restaurants. The positive to that is you get to enjoy your company uninterrupted, the downside is you may be to thirsty to talk. Try it out and don’t let the location fool you, this place is truly a gem!

It’s actually called Spices of India, which originally was called «Splices Of Indie», and was a record label which would produce records for bands and artists of all genres, but would alter the final sound by including «splices of indie» music in between the rapping/​country twang/​drum n bass, etc. However the record label was shut down for running a meth lab in the back room, and then a nice Indian family moved in and decided to sell FROOTI. And the rest is history.
Best Garlic Naan in town. Best Indian buffet in town. Best Butter Chicken (Makhani) in town. Tryst me, come try them.
What to get: Garlic Naan, Frooti drinks, Butter Chicken (Chicken Makhani), Rice Pudding, Sweet Gooey Balls (the last 3 items are part of the buffet).
What else: Buffet, Chicken Curry.
Not sure why I reviewed this place as Spice Bazaar before, weird little me.
This place is kind of special to me for personal reasons, closely related to my discovery of the Mango Drink FROOTI here, which led me on quite an adventure into the jungles of India and to the rainforests of Brazil and back. And you think I’m kidding.
I come here all the time for the delicious, hot, divine, buttery Garlic Naan, which is by far the best in the city. The Chicken Karahi at Grill Kabob may be the best curry in WNY, but Spices makes a lot of curries that are inside the top 10, and has by far the best Butter Chicken and the best Lunch Buffet too. And for the economically challenged, hey have these little containers of lovely curries for $ 3 or $ 4 in the fridge. You can heat them up later. They’re excellent. It’s a clean place with a nice seating area right next to the buffet.
The star of the show is the buffet, and the star dish of the show is the Butter Chicken, although the chicken curry and some of the other curries are excellent. They have a station to «build your own chaat» which is crunchy street food from places like Bombay, and is a great feature that most other local buffets don’t have. The rice at the buffet is also much better than a lot of rice at Idian places around here.
What I also love about this buffet is the variety. The selection of curries is excellent, they have a good dozen or more on any given day, and every single one is delicious, some are more exquisite than others, but all are worth trying, and some you will fall in love with. The flavours are magnificent. Then they also have an ice cream part of the buffet, and a dessert part of the buffet.
Oh, these desserts. Such sinful sweet syrupy delicacies. They have some of the best rice pudding I’ve tried anywhere, and then these gooey sweet balls of luscious wet goodness that I can’t even describe. They’re very Indian, that’s all I can say… and very, very amazing. Better yet, you can plop one of them in your rice pudding for an orgasmic sweet-​ball-​and-​milk experience.
Speaking of balls and milk.
Oh wait never mind.
Other than the buffet: when ordering from the menu, I always ask for my curries extra spicy. I have tried the Chicken Karahi which was okay and not that spicy, and the Chicken Balti which was good, and fairly spicy. But both were very tomato-​based and nothing like the oily curries on Transit which I love, and more importantly the ones back in England. Nevertheless they are good, even better Naan, and the Frooti Mango Drinks are heaven. Bottled and imported from India, when they have them.
As for service, it’s mixed. The older guy is very friendly but a bit of a penny-​pincher at times. The new employees are nice, if a little clueless. The younger guy (I believe) owns the place, and is the chef behind all the creations, and is extremely friendly and personable, and he makes the restaurant what it is. His brother (I think) is not as friendly.
And of course they all have balls, and milk.
When I thought it was called «Spice Bazaar», my review went like this:
Bazaar Spice was actually the 6^th Spice Girl, but she was a little too weird, so they replaced her with Scary Spice and the rest is history. If you wannabe my lover, you gotta like Garlic Naan. It’s really that simple. Don’t freak out, you can just brush your teeth or use some mouthwash after and nobody will be any the wiser. Can I say that? It’s like an adaptation of none the wiser? Anyway.
Friends told me that the Naan here was fantastic, and a Garlic Naan is always a wonderful way to begin a food tour. This Garlic Naan (under $ 3) is absolutely spectacular! Easily the best in the city, better than the Naan at any other local «Indie» restaurants. It was so good that me and my friend felt like we were orgasmic in the car on the way to the West Side the entire time we were eating it — and we weren’t even touching each other — or ourselves.
I’ll keep coming back here for Naan and curries. I have the menu on hand now, so believe me, it’s only a matter of thyme. And a little cumin and coriander.
And balls.
And milk.

The buffet here has been stellar each time we have come! My stomach is ready to burst from all the delicious options! With the food, I enjoyed a Mango Lassi, also recommended, especially for those like me that cannot handle the Indian heat that tends to come with all things amazing.

This would have been a 5 star if the little incident between my friend and the cashier didn’t happen. But it was cool of them to not count my friend’s bill in the end.
First off, the food was amazing. The garlic nann was mega delicious. I literally ate 7 of them. My favourite was the Paneer Makhani (cheese curry). They also have a couple kinds of chicken curries and goat meat curry! For vegetarians, they have two bean dishes. And I saw multiple staff having them in their dinner break. That’s saying they have to be the most authentic Indian dishes. Overall, all the options were amazing!!! Make sure you try everything.
They have a little dessert bar as well as ice cream. Not too big of a fan. They have Gulab Jamun, little dough balls soaked in honey, not super sweet, but I didn’t like the texture. They have rice pudding and some Indian cake bites.
The staff there were really nice. Because it was our first time there, they told us to feel free tasting their food before deciding what we want to order. They were really good about explaining what everything is too.
There is also a grocery store joint with the restaurant. Overall, great experience for me.

After I read the reviews from fellow Unilocalers, I decided to try this place. The restaurant is half grocery market half restaurant. It is clean and they serve lunch buffet until 3pm. The food are fresh even when I came here around 2:30pm.
I tried most everything in the station and they were amazing. The paneer makhani (Indian cheese with tomato sauce) and chicken tikka masala are to die for. The chicken tandoori is moist and tasty. My favorite is minty green chutney mix with yogurt dressing (I don’t remember the name) but they taste so good with the meal.
The buffet came with naan bread also.
The price is reasonable for lunch $ 9.95.
I will definitely come back and maybe come during dinner time
