I went back, and something has changed the service is terrible now. Whats going on? This is a good spot hopefully someone gets this place together. I have had good and bad experiences here, i hope next time will be better.

In regard to the heat we have gotten the Ac issue fixed it is alot cooler now. When we took this place over it had many issues to deal with. We are working very hard to fix issues that come along. With the wait time which is about 20 to 25 min there are alot of people that don’t mind because they know they are not getting bar food. They are receiving a dish that is made from scratch every time with fresh food that’s not frozen. If you weren’t happy the last time you were here I urge you to give us another try. It is improving every day.

First & only time here — Saturday by the lake. Service was slow, waitress had difficulty remembering basic requests between our table and the bar 20 feet away. They were out of several popular drinks (like Shiner Bock & Redd’s apple ale, among others), food was really bad, even for your basic bar food. Also, as mentioned by another poster, it is incredibly hot both inside and on the deck. They at least need to get some fans or misters, as the deck faces west and the afternoon sun is truly brutal.
However, there is an upside. The view is quite nice, and they had live music. Both bands, including an acoustic duo called JJ, were worth hearing. Great music, great attitudes, and a lot of fun. We hope to see them at another venue in the near future!

NO A/​C!!!
Tried to have dinner at the now «Tiki Bar & Grille», former Captain’s Post. Lived within one mile for 11+ years. Been there once before when it was another establishment.
Left after 45 minutes still without our two burgers/​fries.
Here’s what’s wrong:
No AC (it’s SE TX)
They allow smoking and it wafts everywhere. As a non-​smoker I don’t want to taste it when I eat. Bitter & old iced tea, out of several sodas. SLOW & too few staff.
Went in at a perceivable dinner hour (7pm) with only myself and a 10 year old. Was asked if we were going to eat, and I remarked the he and I were not there to drink, and she said «you never know».
45 minutes after ordering two burgers & fries w/​out any special requests and still no food and not «slammed». Dropped a few bucks on the table and left.

When they brought the food. It was cold!

We ate here about a month ago for dinner on a Friday night… for a bar the food was surprisingly good… service was excellent. Totally worth checking out… when we come back to Lake Conroe we will be eating here.
