Mich-Tech 1

I can NOT give this company any stars. I only gave a one star because I had to! The service guy was rude and disrespectful on both visits, Anthony. First visit he was much later than the time block that was given and he said I needed a part and he fixed the other part by blowing on it. Hum. A lady from the company called and said they needed the model number, that the service guy didn’t write it down. I am not sure why because he wrote it on the invoice but two of us got down on the floor, took a picture of the information and gave it to the girl from the company that called. They called and made a second appointment to come out. Once again it was Anthony. When I went out to check on him had the whole top of the stove sitting on the throw carpet on the kitchen floor. When I asked how it was going he wouldn’t give me a answer. So I repeated myself a couple of times and he wouldn’t answer me so finally I said «Did you put the part in.» He started arguing with me and asked why I was giving him a hard time. Again I asked if he put the part in and finally he said NO because I had called in the wrong model number it was the wrong part but it didn’t need it because he fixed it. I asked him why on his first visit did he say it needed a part? He kept saying «Lady I don’t know why your giving me a hard time. I asked him to leave and on his way out of the door he said F_​_​_​you! I called Mich Tech and spoke with the lady there who seemed to be very nice. The owner/​manager called and he kept interrupting me. He said that he has never had a problem with this Anthony and didn’t believe he said F_​_​_​you and he rung up on me. I will never have this company back again!!!

I would give them less than one star if I could. I called and scheduled an appointment for a checkup and cleaning over a month prior to the appointment due to my family’s busy schedule. The day of when the appointment was supposed to be, no one shows up. I call the office and was told they didn’t have my appointment and couldn’t do anything for me that day and didn’t really seem to care they messed up. They made it seem like it was my issue that I couldn’t do the appointment the next day. It seemed like they didn’t even care they made a mistake. They didn’t even take my number and try to correct the issue. As a small business owner myself, if I would have made a error I would do anything I could to try and move. things around to try and fit the customer in.

Child lock was stuck on dishwasher, not allowing us to use it, despite following directions to shut it off. Mich Tech 1 came out on Wednesday after a Tuesday call (my husband had made an appointment with someone else for a whole week out!). They called before the technician arrived to say he was on his way and were well within the 4 hour window. When the technician arrived, lo and behold, the dishwasher started right up. He tried it several times and it appears to be in working order. The $ 50.00 service call charged is good for 30 days, so if the DW acts up again within the next few days or weeks, they won’t charge us to come look at it again : —) Great service, very polite technician. Will definitely use them again.

The scheduling system at their website was easy to use and worked fine. They were available the first day we wanted, which was only 2 days wait. The repairman knew immediately what was needed and did the job quickly at a reasonable price. This was a 5-​star experience, no question.
The repair was for a leaky clothes washing machine.

I arranged for Mich-​Tech 1 to service our gas clothes dryer via their website on a Sunday evening. The website allowed me to select a 4-​hour window on Tuesday (they were fully booked for Monday). Their dispatcher called early during the 4-​hour window to confirm that I was home and sent the technician, who arrived in 20 minutes.
He diagnosed the problem in a few minutes and replaced the bad parts with spares that he carried on his truck.
He also mentioned a problem that he noticed with our water heater, which is next to the dryer, and showed me how to fix it myself.
Bottom line: prompt and professional.

We recently had Mich-​Tech 1 come by to work on our furnace. It was (over)due for an annual servicing and was making an odd noise.
We were given a 10am — 2pm window during which to expect the technician, and he came by a 10:45am or so. We would have preferred a window shorter than 4 hours (or at least an idea of we were to be near the beginning or end of the list of customers for that time frame). We did, however, appreciate that they call before they depart for your house to make sure you are/​will be home. That gave use the freedom to go for a walk around the neighborhood in the morning, knowing that once we got that call we can head for home and not miss the tech.
Once there, the service call was reasonable efficient and thorough. The funny noise was quickly addressed as a faulty furnace filter, and the cleaning was done in less than an hour.
I appreciated the fact that Mich-​Tech 1 was able to provide an appointment on a Saturday, and within 24 hours of our call. They also accept all credit cards. The furnace maintenance cost $ 85, which was in line with the 3 other places I called, but the highest of the bunch by a little.
Overall, we would not hesitate to contact Mich-​Tech 1 again for our heating/​cooling/​appliance servicing needs.

Mich-​Tech 1 has always done right by us with our heating and cooling issues around the home. We’ve had them install a new heater and they’ve serviced our existing air-​conditioning system.
They are based in tiny Willis, Mich. but will come out to most surrounding cities including Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti and all the Detroit suburbs.
The price is right, and they get the work done when they say they’ll do it. Some places give you a 4 – 8 hour time frame when they might stop by, which can be inconvenient for your work schedule. When we had the furnace replaced, these guys gave us a smaller window and showed up when they said they would.
It took them about a whole day to put in the new heater and replace a bunch of duct work, and it was a cold late autumn day. Being in the very cold house while they were doing the repairs wasn’t much fun. I’d recommend making other plans and being elsewhere if you intend them to repair a heater during cold weather.
They didn’t leave much mess behind when they left, either, with the exception of tracking a little dirt and dust around. For the amount of time they spent and the trips in and out to the truck, though, it wasn’t bad.
I’d highly recommend these guys for heating and cooling, and they also do other work such as installing kitchen appliances. They’re family owned and operated, too, which is nice if you’re concerned about supporting locally owned businesses.
