The complex is on Highway 99, but to get to the hiking area you have to get to Hughes Road. This place is beautiful. Marshland, bisected by a levee. With hiking trails open from April — June. I love wetland habitats, and the views were spectacular. Also some riparian and grassland in the complex. The refuge is also home to a few endangered species, and interesting water fowl.
