Dr. Joseph Hicken offers orthodontic and orthopedic services to patients of all ages. He uses both metal braces and/​or porcelain braces to straighten teeth and bone and he will give you the information and the time necessary for you to make the best considerations and decisions for your orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Joseph T. Hicken graduated with a DDS degree from Northwestern University Dental School in 1969 and returned later for additional schooling in orthodontics and achieved a Masters degree in 1974. Prior to the orthodontic program and following, Dr. Hicken taught at Northwestern University for 30 years and at Marquette University for five more. His practice is limited to orthodontics/​orthopedics and focuses on therapy for teens, adults and children.

Dr. Hicken is Board-​certified by the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists and has contributed to the community of orthodontists. As a member of the selective Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists he has served in several offices, including as president of the Midwest Component of that organization. He is also a member of the World Federation ofOrthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Chicago Dental Society, and has served as a director of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists.
