I don’t typically write reviews for fast food chains but I had a bad day and was looking for some comfort food. The staff is nice, the place is clean, and the food is decent when you are hungry. I always get the same thing when I come here, the turkey, bacon ranch with loaded potato bites.

This Arby’s is off Kirkwood Highway westbound. First impression of the interior of this Arby’s is it seemed up-to-date and fairly comfortable. I had a ‘shroom and swiss with curly fries and the food was good enough, about what I would expect from this fast food chain. Service was okay.

«Im so hungry I could eat at Arbys!» Sherri(or is it Terri), The Simpsons I must think of this line and giggle everytime i pass an Arbys. Notice how i said«pass» an Arbys. I rarely ever eat here. So strong is the influence of TV on me(hell, it pretty much raised me) that I let a minor cartoon character make decisions for me. Apparently, Im never so hungry that ill eat at Arbys. Until now. Im still looking for the right combination of taste, value, and brevity, near where I work in Newark. Ive exhaused the usual suspects and noticed an Arbys nearby. It was time to say, «Sherri(or Terri) be damned!», and see whats what. Another reason I rarely go to Arbys, is that Im not a huge fan of roast beef. I like it ok, but it has to be from a real good source. The few times ive tried it at Arbys it was a little bland. That said, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of non-Roast Beef choices Arbys Offers. Not only sandwiches and wraps but appetizers(Potato skins, mozz sticks, etc). Being a creature of habit, I chose the Reuben combo(small fries, small refillable drink for about $ 6). It was very good. I would have preferred a heartier bread. This was like rye/wheat flavored white bread. If not heartier, than at least toasted. Regardless, it satisfied. For the first time in awhile, I couldnt even finish the sandwich! Fries were decent, I got regular but curly were an option. I should also note that later, when I heated it up in the oven, I got my toasted wish and it was, in fact, better. Loved the feng shui of the place. It had a split level dining room, with faux stone walls, fire place, potted plants, and the centerpiece… a big screen TV tuned to CNN. Great idea, great ambiance. I almost forgot I was in a fast food restraunt. There were at least 6 or 7 other food options that I am interested to try, like the Roast Burger, for example(what the hell is it!!!) Its definite that I will be back. And like Sherri/Terri when I get hungry… I WILL go to Arbys… but not in an ironic way.
