This little bakery closed its larger location and now has a small booth at the Booth’s Corner Farmer’s Market in Boothwyn, PA. I have no idea where they’re actually baking their items but judging from the taste, it’s a drafty kitchen. I was intent on finding chrusciki for a friend who’d been craving them. Crusciki are also known as ‘angel wings’, litely friend strips of dough dusted with powdered sugar. Very simple, crunchy and tasty. Unfortunately not so here. The little lady who was working the counter told me they’d been made a couple of days before and that they actually kept for up to a year. Well, I knew right away that was an embellishment, but when I bit-in to one, it was horrible. Stale, moist and tasting like they were made weeks ago, I’ve heard good things about this little bakery so I’m not sure what happened. Perhaps closing their larger store had something to do with it but sadly, I just can’t recommend it.
