La Moon Thai Spa

This is not your typical massage, so please do not go in to this expecting that. If you want a deep tissue massage with stretching then this is the place for you. The masseuse uses her whole body including feet to massage your body while holding onto bars on the ceiling at certain intervals. It is definitely an experience. I would recommend to try it at least once and see if you like it.

I came to this spa last September for my first ever Brazilian wax. The woman did an amazing job and made the experience as comfortable as it can possibly get. The price they charge (which is soooo cheap!) has no reflection on the cleanliness of the place and the job they do. They are by far the best bang for you buck! Couldn’t find another spa with this amazing of a price and service anywhere nearby! I will definitely be going back again! Super Friendly!

Wow! This was an amazing experience for my wife and I. We booked a couples massage and did not know what to expect. From the very beginning we were very comfortable and put at ease. The place itself was warm and inviting. We were offered tea and water while we waited. The front staff did an exceptional job of describing the available offerings. This was particularly helpful since it was my wife’s first massage.
Kim and JJ were both phenomenal. They adjusted to our needs and made it a great hour. We will definitely be back on a monthly excursion to relax and reconnect.

I booked based on their Unilocal reviews and I’m so glad I did! Katie and Nikki were fantastic. I will definitely be back. I had the traditional Thai massage, (a blend of swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and a lot of stretching!) and it was fantastic!!! I would say these massages are a must for athletes. Try it… and the discount for paying cash is a huge plus.

I was feeling down and in need of a massage. I found this place but their online system didn’t have any reservations for that day. FEAR NOT. Just call and they’ll make accommodations! They’ll also be sure to let you know what kind of offers they have.
Their trademark massage is a combination of traditional thai (or as I call it, assisted-​stretching) massage with ashiatsu (yes, where they walk on your back), stone massage, and oil and swedish massage. It’s a pretty eclectic mix but it works! And as the woman at the reception said, the variety helps get the most knots out. I’m not sure if there is any science behind it but I certainly enjoyed it.
The place is clean and has a nice ambiance. When you arrive they give you some slippers and allow you to put your shoes in a cubby. As some others have mentioned you get a basket for clothing (which is surprisingly absent in other massage locations where you throw all your stuff on a chair) and a bottle of water at the end.
They know how to treat you well! Definitely a place I would come back to in the future for a massage.

I have gotten a lot of massages and this place was great. First off the décor and service were top notch. They gave us slippers, bottled water and a basket to put our clothes in (which all massage places do not do) and had a very specific check-​in process where they asked us what areas we wanted to focus the massage on.
They used several aromatic things that I enjoyed, hot stone and they had bars on the ceiling to walk on my back!!! You never get all these things with just a basic massage, but La Moon Thai Spa did. Only $ 60 per hour!!! I highly recommend coming here for a massage!

An amazing experience! I have had many, many massages and like anyone how has had many massages I can judge what my massage experience will be like within the first 2 minutes, or less!
I do crossfit generally 4 days a week, which leaves me quite sore all of the time. My career provides much stress and yesterday I hurt my neck. My regular masseuse was booked for the week and I know I needed a massage to regain mobility in my neck.
I also know with an injury a bad massage can make it much worse! I read all of the reviews on Unilocal and decided to give this place a shot! I’m so happy I did! I couldn’t be happier with my experience, I love Grace and her techniques and she knew how to treat my neck with just enough pressure and moving away and going back to it, from different angles and not rubbing it raw. She was wonderful and my neck feels much better. I booked my next appointment for in 4 days in order to keep my neck on the mend! I will continue to return here!

I got the WORST Brazillian wax of my life here! Not even worth the $ 25!
I went in a few weeks ago to get a Brazilian. Due to traffic I was about 10 minutes late — but I called ahead and told them I was running late by 10 – 15 minutes, and they said it would be no problem. When I got there, the parking lot was full, which was a pain. When she sent me into the room, she made a snide remark about me being late. She asked if I was getting a bikini wax or a Brazilian, and I specified Brazilian, which I had also said when I booked the appointment, and when I called to tell them I was running late. She then made a remark about her next client being here already. She was either early, or they booked appointments too close together, because it had only been about 15 minutes since my original appointment had started.
The wax itself was terrible. I’m still feeling the effects 4 weeks later — mostly ingrown hairs and thicker hair. The biggest mistake she made was pulling the wax off slowly. Anyone who has ever gotten a wax knows you need to pull it off quickly. She also used the same cloth strip to rip off the wax the entire time. I’m not exactly sure what did it, but all the hair was ripped out at the surface or just below the surface, instead of from the roots. This has caused my hair to thicken down there, which means my next wax is going to be more painful. It also caused me to get a ton of ingrown hairs, which I’m still trying to get rid of.
The wax she used was also very hot. Not scalding, but the hot wax was more painful than tearing off the wax paper. When we were done, she didn’t give any kind of antiseptic lotion, etc. I know not all places do, but the professional places typically put something on you to make the area less irritated.
This was absolutely without a doubt the worst wax I’ve ever gotten. I recently went to my usual lady, and she told me she couldn’t even do it over until all the ingrown hairs were gone, since it’ll irritate everything too much.
I’m probably being a bit dramatic to say she did it on purpose, but it’s strange I had such a bad experience when people seem to have good experiences here. Whatever the reason, it was not worth it to come here. Maybe she was just having an off day, but I am never ever returning here. Was definitely not worth the $ 25, though at least I didn’t pay more for such a terrible experience. Best of luck to anyone that still goes here. I seem to be an outlier, so take this review with a grain of salt! This is just my personal experience.
Update: A few months later and I have scarring from the ingrown hairs and irritation I got from this wax. I’m desperately trying to get everything to go back to normal. Even after getting a wax at my usual place I’m more prone to ingrown hairs than I’ve ever been. I’m still upset I went here in the first place. I don’t know what happened, and hopefully other people’s experiences here are different!

I sent my wife there today for her birthday for a massage and facial. She called me afterwards raving about it she loved it clean peaceful great staff. I tip them when I pre bought for the day and my wife tipped when she left they called me later thinking we over tip them I told them to keep it they deserved it.

Brazilian waxes are done perfectly and without pain. Staff is friend and the prices are affordable.

I have been searching for a descent massage place in the aeea for quite a while. and I finally found it! The environment is very soothing, decorating is modern and the establishment is clean. The service was great! They used a lot of unique methods I’ve never experienced before and focused on all of my tension areas. My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage and both left feeling amazing and reguvinated, and also booked our next appointment! The staff is professional and know what they’re doing, you won’t be disappointed and you can’t beat the prices! Try it out! You’ll feel like new :)

I have probably frequented every legitimate massage location within 5 miles of Wilmington, and I can say that this is by far the best!
Price: Very reasonable @ $ 60/​hr plus tip.
Customer Service: Greeted professionally every-​time. Respectful/​clean tradition of removing your shoes and having them store/​provide you with sandals. Easy payment options and tipping discretely on receipt.
Décor: Extremely clean, updated, soothing, and well kept
Massage: I’m nearing my 10^th visit and I can say its consistent, focused, and much more traditional than any other thai massage location in the area.
I will continue to visit this location and I suggest you do the same!

No, let me explain.
La Moon is super zen and cute on the inside and makes you feel really calm. The rooms are really clean with small pots of different types of wax bubbling away and there’s soft waterfall-​type music playing in the background. I have no idea who waxed me (sorry!), but she was great. She was quick and efficient and didn’t make me feel weird about it. She even pulled out a pair of tweezers to get the hairs that the wax missed. I’ve never had a Brazilian this perfect. She used a mix of hard and soft wax and it wasn’t as painful as it could have been. (I mean you are getting your hair ripped out by the roots so you’re not kidding anyone when you say it doesn’t hurt). I’d totally go back again. It’s a bit of a drive from where I live but it’s so worth it.

Great location! I had a Brazilian wax done by Nikki. She was great! Brazilians can be really awkward and painful, but Nikki was gentle yet quick and really friendly! There was no awkward silence, she kept talking to me, and asked me if I was comfortable and if the pain was bearable. Overall, the spa is neat and clean, and very hygienic. With the promotion they have going right now, the Brazilian only cost me $ 25.00! I will definitely be back. Nikki also suggested a facial for my acne-​prone skin, so will be getting that soon too. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Wilmington-​Reading area looking for a clean, affordable spa!

The best massage I ever had! The service was awesome and the masseuse was so kind, she listened to exactly where my trouble areas were and took her time to get all of my kinks out. It was such a pleasurable experience. I will definitely be back.

Firstly, I would like to say that I am a bit of a massage snob. Because of a old car accident injury, I am a frequent flyer at spas. I get a wide range of massages, including deep tissue, Swedish and sports medicine massages at least once a month. I booked an appointment with La Thai Moon Spa because Nikki, has been my aesthetician for a number of years and when I heard she moved to open her own Spa, I had to pay her a visit.
Massage: Nikki was not available but she highly recommended another masseuse, Grace. I was utterly impressed by Grace. She was attentive to my needs and used a combination of techniques to help rid my knots. She started with hot stones to warm my muscles and used a combination of Thai and deep tissues to melt away the knots. My favorite part was the stretching at the end, I would pay her to just to stretch me for an hour. She is definitely a seasoned pro who worked magic on my knots and tension. Half way through the massage, I was thinking when I could fit her into my schedule for another.
Wax: As I mentioned, I have been seeing Nikki for a number of years. (Since she worked at Elizabeth Grady.) A week after my massage, I came back for a Brazilian wax and upper lip wax. As always, Nikki was quick & attentive and the wax was as pain-​free as a wax could be. I love the hard wax that they use, I think that’s why it’s less painful then other spas. NIkki always emphasizes on sanitation and never double dips. Will be back for Facials.
Overall: The spa is clean and well decorated. The décor is modern and extremely relaxing with a fireplace. The staff is friendly, offering tea and slippers upon checking in. The massage tables are comfortable and heated!
Overall: 5 Stars for Quality of Service, Cleanliness and Price.

I had been going to Nikki for my facial for over a year now in Quincy but then heard that she moved and has opened her own spa in Wilmington… I got the information and drove from Quincy to Wilmington for my regular facial… Nikki is great, she studies your skin and does the facial based on her evaluation as opposed to most places where they just blindly follow the steps. She also explains what she is doing and why… which I greatly appreciate. The spa setup is very nice and calming. I got a good deal since they just opened so even got my waxing done… was very pleased. Will be back.

BEST MASSAGE EVER!
My boyfriend surprised me with a gift certificate to La Moon Thai Spa — It was their grand opening so I received the 60 min massage for $ 60! Not only was the price enticing but the quality of service is AMAZING. When you first walk in, you’re immediately greeted by a friendly staff. The front entrance is spacious with gold paintings and OH! there’s hot tea ready to be enjoyed as you wait for your massage therapist. Each room is immaculate.
I felt such great release after having the massage. For $ 60 — I will be frequenting La Moon Thai Spa.
