The food is your everyday genuine Smithfields taste and the staff is extremely friendly. The only thing is that they have never failed to mess up our order. We constantly have to go back inside and fix something. But we love the food so its not stopping us!

The staff were really friendly. The fries were really good. The bbq pork was fine. It wasn’t great but not bad either.

First off as being someone not from North Carolina, I feel like I need to explain something. Bar-B-Q is pulled pork. So I have make my own Eastern North Carolina pulled pork, and everyone told me that I needed to try Smithfield’s, and that it s the best. After waiting a long time(they are only in NC) to try it. It was REALLY, REALLY good, but I think my pulled pork is better(you may think I am biased, but I’m not really). Don’t get me wrongs it’s close, really good, and would not hesitate to go back. Oh and the sweet tea is amazing.

We love Smithfield’s BBQ and their fried chicken. The service there is outstanding. It’s always clean and they frequently check up on you to refill your drinks. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is the number of times we have gone there to find out they are out of BBQ.

Food is typical North Carolina BBQ. It is a vinegar based sauce. Food is hot good and fresh. Service is fast and friendly. Worth the money

Mediocre food at reasonable prices. The chicken is usually over cooked and I would recommend avoiding the bbq. I can honestly say I have never had a decent meal here and the floor and tables are always«sticky»

Being from California, I can’t make the claim that this is the best East Carolina BBQ around, but it’s some of the best BBQ I’ve had anywhere. East Carolina style BBQ is slow cooked pork with NOBBQ sauce and only a mild vinegar based moistening agent, occasionally with some peppers added to it to give it just the slightest kick. I had the pulled pork combo plate with baked beans and Brunswick stew. It was a good portion and along with a sweet tea, only set me back $ 11.00. The food was incredibly flavorful and fresh. The ambiance is nice and there’s some really cool wall décor of classic movie posters and such. If they opened one in Los Angeles and the food quality was the same, I’d be there 2 or 3 times a week! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for really good East Carolina style BBQ.

Smithfield’s provides a great, quick option for those needing a BBQ fix. Points for the friendly waitstaff that bring you your food and make sure you have everything you need after you have ordered at the counter. For pulled pork fans, there are several options: the BBQ Sandwich(includes slaw), and the Regular BBQ Platter and the Large BBQ Platter. My novice, non-Southern eating partner got confused and accidentally ordered a BBQ Platter thinking it had a sandwich(it doesn’t, it’s just pulled pork + 2 small sides), so we ended up getting a second sandwich and finishing the platter anyway.

Damn good. Can’t get this up north, that’s why my buddies take a bunch home with them when they visit. It’s a treat… a very tasty treat.

I wasn’t expecting much when I walked up to this place, but the first thing that I liked was the staff. The staff was really nice and really seemed like they wanted to help. I ordered a BBQ sandwich, when I got it I was kinda disappointed cuz it was vinegar BBQ and me being from South Carolina I usually eat mustard or ketchup BBQ. But it was actually preaty good. The fries were great to. I recommend it if u like vinegar BBQ.

When Tim and I moved here from Kansas City(which is known for great BBQ), I had my doubts. But… as soon as you try Smithfield’s unique flavor(get extra vinegar!!) you are SOLD. We love the flavor, the spices, the moist chicken, yummy, my mouth is watering. Get out and try one of these today, and drop one by for me! You’ll love it.
