St Francis Hospital

The OB GYN there at the hospital is the worst. Since I transferred due to moving here in Delaware. It has been night and day coming from one of the best OB GYN Penn hospital in Pennsylvania. They have gotten my paper work and due date way off. It took weeks for me to get my maternity papers filled out; and I had to constantly call them about that. The medical assistance there are a joke. If I had a choice I wouldn’t even have my baby at this hospital. Unfortunately I’m pretty much stuck with having to make sure I have my family there to support me and pray that they don’t make this birthing experience a disaster for me

I know nothing about this hospitals medical services, but I do know that it’s the best place in the city to see the skyline, catch the sunset or sunrise, or show a visiting friend.
Parking is free of its under an hour I believe, so just waltz into the parking lot and make your way to the top.
I know, this is a weird review, but st. Francis has truly been a unique highlight for me living in Wilmington. It’s one of those «places», where you have fond and magical memories, one of those invincible and timeless locations that makes you feel alive as you watch the sunset with friends.
The neighborhood is not the best in the city, but all that means is be aware of your surroundings. Well worth your time.

only hospital you can trust. but gov. making them take people who are not trained for the job.

I went to St Francis this past Tuesday for a D&C and Hysteroscopy by my ObGyn, Dr Lashauna McIntosh, who is affiliated with St Francis. I was pretty nervous, but from the first person I met at the reception desk, to every nurse I encountered along the way, and even the anesthesiologist, everyone seemed very nice, friendly, and eager to help in any way they could. It was to be an outpatient procedure, and I should’ve been out by around 4 – 5 pm, but I had blood drawn during the 2 hour prep before the procedures, which resulted in a shockingly low blood count that everyone seemed a bit nervous about. I was given a blood transfusion during and then after the procedure, in a private room, which resulted in my discharge somewhere around midnight… much later than anticipated. I don’t blame them however, as they only kept me around to make sure my blood levels were up to a normal level and I was okay in their eyes before letting me go home. They showed concern and care for my well being, taking great care of me while there and making sure I was comfortable. I was even offered some food and drink, since I had been fasting since midnight and all through the day for the procedures, and was empty and famished by evening time. Tasty turkey sandwich, cranberry juice, banana, and the tastiest snack chips I’ve ever had.
My doctor met me before my discharge to check up on me and answer any questions I had about the findings of the procedures. It was already known I had fibroids in and out of my uterus due to a recent Pelvic Ultrasound and MRI, but a polyp was found during the procedure the size of a plum we needed to discuss. McIntosh was very caring and comforting to talk to, and gave good suggestions to consider for possible treatment options to take care of the uninvited and unwanted guests in my system.
I was released with instructions for home care afterward, as well as a prescription to take the edge off any cramps I may experience afterward. Even the nurse who came to wheel me out to my hubs waiting in the car to take me home was nice and pleasant.
All in all, a positive experience all around. If I have to get a hysterectomy in the near future to eradicate my fibroid/​polyp problem, I look forward to receiving the same level of professional care the next time around.

If you want personalized and caring service that makes you feel like you are a family member and not just another healthcare consumer, then this is the hospital for you. The ER had virtually no wait time on both of the occasions that i went there with family members and there are plenty of options for low-​income or uninsured patients. The staff is friendly and helpful and the entire atmosphere of this hospital is very patient-​centered. Another example of how bigger isn’t always better. ST Francis provides excellent care with state of the art technology and services, but maintains that small hospital, neighborhood feeling that helps take the fear out of medical treatment.
