Wilmington KOA

It is Columbus Day holiday 2015 The park is crowded and there is no Wi-​Fi and there is no cable TV.

We stayed in a small deluxe cabin. Very nice and comfy. Wifi was a joke did not use. Nice area close to all kinds of fun places. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Will be back again to visit our friends.

The WiFi at this KOA park is totally inadequate. If fact, one of the employees at the office told me that she goes into Lake Placid to use the WiFi because it is too slow and/​or difficult to get on at the KOA campground.
As an example, it took me 25 minutes of waiting just to post this review.

Pros: You can pitch a tent on dirt (not gravel), the camping area is big, includes a picnic table and fire ring. Some sites have outlets, ours didn’t but I still found a place to charge phone. Porta Lisa was clean, and we luckily had a fairly secluded site. Quiet on weekend of Fourth.
Cons: No outlet at our tent site, though other sites had them. $ 40/​night is about the price of hotels, so that kind of bummed me out.
Neutral: A big swimming pool and activities (some free), but I wasn’t interested in any of that stuff — Tie Dye, ice cream, movies, or swimming.

Had an amazing time. Quiet at night, despite it being July 4^th weekend and Jam-​packed. Drew a very diverse crowd. Dog park was great. Activities for kids were great. Friendly and even helped us with our tv woes (our woes, not theirs) a couple of times. So helpful. Great store, as we had heard. Clean bathrooms and never seemed to be overcrowded. Clean pool. Minutes from the beach. Near everything we needed. We had an excellent time and will definitely be back.

Great site. Staff was welcoming and extremely friendly. We were there with our little tent and had a spot without water and electricity. Facilities were clean. We will definitely go there again!

I’ve long been a fan of the KOA brand, but the Wilmington KOA is top of the line.
My wife and I called this location home for nearly a week while visiting the Wilmington area. For much of the week, we were the only tent amidst a pretty robust RV population. The location is kept extremely clean and the staff are courteous and helpful — it’s clear that they take pride in their site and their work. The location serves as a great jumping off point for Wilmington, the area beaches, and other destinations in southeast NC.

Mit etwas über 80 Stellplätzen ein mittelgroßer Campground mit dem bekannten KOA-​Standard. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und von zwei Guides zu unserer Site geleitet. Gekonnt wurden wir auf den Platz eingewiesen, was bei einem 27 ft. WoMo back in ja nicht immer ganz einfach ist.
Der schöné Pool war bedingt durch die Jahreszeit leider nicht mehr in Betrieb. Die Restrooms (nur mit Code zu betreten, den man bei der Registrierung erhält) in einem super gepflegten Zustand und einem Fernseher hoch oben an der Wand, auf dem 24 Stunden ein Wetterkanal läuft, den der Sender wie eine große Show zelebriert.
Obwohl der CG direkt an der Straße liegt, war vom Verkehr erfreulich wenig zu hören. WiFi ist auf dem ganzen Gelände stabil frei zu empfangen.
Alle Sites haben Strom– und Wasseranschluss, einige full hook-​up. Wir fanden die back in Sites schöner als die drive through.
KOA Wilmington ist sowohl als Durchgangs-​CG als auch als Stand für Besucher von Wilmington und Umgebung zu empfehlen.

Awesome place! Had a great time camping here. They even had a porta lisa. Within site of the lot we stayed at. Free coffee, wifi and cable at every lot. Didnt stay in a cabin but they looked really nice too. Will definitely stay at KOAs from now on.

Rented a 1 bedroom cabin for a birthday party with 4 11 year old girls — it was perfect. Campground is clean and well maintained, quiet at night. Feels like camping when you are just minutes from one of Wilmington’s busiest streets. Pool, playground and volley ball net all great.

Not impressed with this KOA. It is completely mismanaged and they are not camper friendly. I would recommend going somewhere else for a family vacation.

We stayed for 3 nights. It’s a pleasant campground. The staff is friendly. The trash is picked up often. The laundry room is clean and has TV for entertainment while doing your laundry. It is also attached to a small media room with more TV and a desktop computer. We had free Wi-​Fi during our stay. The campground was close to Downtown Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. We would definitely stay here again.

The owners were very friendly. Nice campground. If you aren’t a deep sleeper stay away from the pool though because they run a leaf blower every morning that will wake you up.
