Dedicated gratefully and with joy to the men of Delaware and its neighbors, Wright & Simon has for 80 years built an outstanding men’s clothing store on the cornerstone of their principles:

Stressing that good fitting is the first essential to good appearance and makes for maximum customer comfort and satisfaction. We have or own in-​house tailor shop dedicated only to what we sell. J. Louis Simon, Morris M. Simon, and James H. Wright founded the store in 1935 at 109 West Ninth Street. By 1952, the business was ready for new quarters. The new store, at the present location of 911 North Market Street, was designed as one of the most outstanding stores in the country devoted exclusively to the sale of fine clothing for men including full in-​house tailor shop on second floor. Now owned and managed by Louis Simon’s son, Leonard Simon.

Business Owner

Leonard Simon is the owner/​manager of Wright & Simon, a fine men’s clothing store in Wilmington DE, a business founded by his father and uncle 80 years ago. The store has been known since its beginning in 1935 for the very highest quality products, excellent service and fair prices. Leonard, a graduate of the University of Delaware and who served in the US Army, began working in the store as a young boy and later, for many years, with his father until his father’s retirement. Leonard Simon loves his work and plans to keep the store open and going as well as the new website.
