Graham Oaks Nature Park

Nice park with well-​maintained paths. Lots of Dogs Not Welcome signs though.
It is curious dogs on leashes are only allowed in one portion to preserve nature that was saved from development known as Villabois, and yet a number of homeless are squatting in the back portion (garbage and human waste), and that seems fine? I don’t get it.
Still, it’s a sweet spot.

I’d never even heard of this place… What a wonderful surprise! Great walking trails guide you through varied ecosystems (forest, wetlands, meadows) with informational signage along the way!

This is a great place to take a little stroll and enjoy nice weather. They have paths for bikes, peds, and there are some areas where dogs are welcome (mostly the paved paths).
There are other unpaved but well maintained paths that you can go to on foot – no dogs or bikes. Which makes good sense as they are trying to maintain the wilderness area.
Nice clean bathrooms and some interpretive signs. They had some fun with the paving here where they interspersed animals tracks within the pavement to make it look like the animals had tread on the wet cement. Cute touch.
All in all a nice place to visit and take a walk. We normally do this when we have cars in the shop nearby and spend time communing with nature while our vehicles are maintained.
I’ll be back again.

Trails for bikes, trails for hikes, trails in the open, trails in the forest, open vistas, great views, birds, and all in the city. Needless to say, I love Graham Oaks, and while I visit often, I kick myself for days that I miss this little sanctuary.
All the reforestation is really starting to take hold and grow up, making the hikes more interesting than when it opened a few years ago. The gravel trails are well maintained and the paved trail is nice and wide for both bikers, runners, and walkers. Dogs welcome, but only on leash and only on the paved trail (which kinda sucks).
The park is adjacent to the new-​urbanist Villebois community, so you can easily connect to the network of trails, greenways, and open spaces in Villebois.
