Ed Lugo Resort

there is no better place to stay in Wilton Manors… Ed and his staff are amazing and the grounds and rooms are amazing. I’ll be back!

This place is wonderful. Ed is such a good host. The place is like a little oasis. SO close and convenient to everything, rooms are wonderfully appointed. Good value for the money and I will DEFINITELY stay here again. Thank you, Ed, for making my mini vacation so special.

I and Thom want to personally say what a way to spend our 30^th anniversary. You all were so thoughtful from the first time I spoke with Ed and working us in on a short notice and a short stay to the day we checked out. Now I know why owners of B&B’s from Key West stay at your Resort. What a wonderful property you have and I can only tell your future guests you will not go wrong staying with Ed. Oh ya, thanks for the warm oatmeal cookies.
We will be back for more weekend stays.

Everything was perfect… Until.
Friend of mine and I went out in Wilton Manors and decided it would be safer to not drive home that evening and avoid problems. We arrived at Ed Lugo Resort and went through the registration process. Ed himself took us to the room and showed us the grounds which were amazing. He was very accommodating and even gave us beers!
There was loud music playing near by so the air was still very much filled with «party mode» despite the very late hour. My friend was done for the night and went straight to bed. I was so mesmerized by the beautiful lush grounds and amazing pool with water fall that I decided to make it a mini one night staycation. I could not resist and took a dip. After all I was a guest at the resort right?
Shortly thereafter I saw a couple walk by. Next, Ed himself. He was caught by surprise when he saw me in the pool as it was apparent he did not expect to find me there. Shortly after I got out and decided to do a little reading and lounging before turning in. Again Ed came out for a 2^nd time, circling the area in which I was «lounging». I felt as though I was an uninvited guest being «checked on» despite the fact I was a paying guest at the resort. I even asked if if was okay that I was out there because I got the sense that he was not too pleased.
What really ruined it was the next day. We left before checkout time. Apparently Ed called my friend to accuse me of stealing the two towels which I used from the room. He claimed and threatened the towels cost $ 60 each and would be charged to the credit card on file if they were not returned. My friend of course called me in a panic asking me where the towels were.
They were left in the room on the chair next to the bed. The towels were there the entire time. Did he not check the room prior to making false assumptions and accusations towards his guests? Yeah, he should have probably done so. I think he was more interested in my friend more than anything quite frankly.
The fact that the owner of the resort had the audacity to call and accuse us (me, probably because I am a straight woman) was offensive beyond belief. It is APPARENT that the fact I went into the pool bothered him. Why else would he have done that? What a disrespect to a SUPPOSED guest.
I have never felt more unwelcome before and hope to never feel that way again at any hotel. I will not be returning nor will I recommend Ed Lugo to the many many clients I have which constantly ask me for recommendations.

Amazing property and staff! This small (5 unit) boutique B&B focuses on friendly service. The property is centrally located off Wilton Drive and within easy walking distance of restaurants and bars. The pool is incredible with orchids and mango trees in profusion.

A-​MAZ-​ING! Ed is awesome. When we checked in (early), Ed welcomed us with a smile and a shot of Grey Goose! But that was just the beginning. The whole place was great. Centrally located and within walking distance to just about everything in Wilton Manors. Nicely appointed, clean, comfortable. Ed went out of his way to accomodate any requests and to make sure we were comfortable. I can’t believe we didn’t find this place before now! We’re already scheduled to stay there again during our next business trip to Fort Lauderdale. A definitely recommend!

If you want a pleasant stay within the «gayborhood» of Wilton Manors, look no further; this is the place. Its super clean, gorgeously appointed and the ultimate in friendliness. Everything on the «drag,» as the locals refer to Wilton Manors Drive, is within an easy and safe walking distance. Besides its location the two most outstanding features of Ed Lugo Resort are that it’s a very small completely hassle free place to stay and everything about it is, for lack of better words, endearingly cute.

Our 2 day pre-​cruise stay (⁷⁄₁₂ to ⁷⁄₁₄) at the Ed Lugo Resort was an awesome experience!
We picked this place specifically for it’s location in the Gay-​borhood and it was ideal for our need… being close by restaurants, banks and stores (including Starbucks and of course Dunkin Donuts) and just a short walk/​stumble from the gay clubs/​bars (Alibi, The Manor, Bill’s Filling Station, Matty’s and Rosie’s).
Ed was a fabulous! He welcomed us with open arms at 9am for early check-​in, gave us a tour of the property and pointed out a place for us to grab breakfast. Throughout the stay, he was always friendly, helpful and the epitome of a gracious host.
Our group of 14 took up the entire place of 3 cottages and 2 rooms and everyone in the group was impressed by the facilities, service and the care that Ed and his staff provided… including the snacks on the counter, soda/​water/​beer in the fridge, chocolate covered strawberries and best of all was Ed coming around with his huge bottle of chilled Patron and shot glasses. We also used the pool and hot tub quite extensively, including late at night, and fresh towels always seemed to magically appear.
Everyone in our group agreed that this would be the only place we’d stay if we found ourselves in Ft Lauderdale again.

This place is really, so beautiful! We wish we could have stayed longer and will definately be back.
It makes you feel at home, not like youre in a commercial chain hotel. As soon as I saw the back courtyard with the hammock and waterfall I just melted.
Staff is amazing and bend over backwards hospitality. All the places to go in FL. are just a car ride away.

I stayed here based on some
reviews, and they definitely got it right. This place is so relaxing and peaceful. As soon as I arrived, Ed & his staff offered me a few glasses of wine to relax and showed me around the property. The pool and jacuzzi are relaxing. Several times, while I was in the jacuzzi, Ed would come around and ask if I needed anything, he brought me a bottle of white wine a glass, he brought me a bowl of chocolate covered almonds and pretzels while I was in the jacuzzi as well. If I ever come back to Ft. Lauderdale, I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Ed & staff! I LOVED IT!!!

Absolutely perfect. I wish I could have stayed longer. We couldn’t have felt more welcome and at home. The location is PERFECT if you aren’t beach people like us. We preferred to wander around Wilton Manors by day and experience the nightlife after dark. We loved lounging by the pool in the serene back courtyard. Ed and co. are the perfect hosts. We will definitely be back. It won’t be soon enough!

He took care of us like family and was the perfect host. The room/​house was wonderful, beautiful and so comfy :)
I am going to tell everyone I know to stay here whilst in Wilton Manors. He’s completely spoiled me and I will stay no where else now.
