Meet the Business Owner

Marcilia B.

Business Owner

After living in locales as diverse as Catalina Island and Miami, Marcilia moved to Wimberley, Texas in 1993 and bought the property that would become the Square Inn in 1994. As a single mom with 6 children, she quickly saw the need for a qualified preschool in the area and opened The Learning Center. The preschool was embraced by the community, with attendance of more than 180 children. After nearly a decade of running the child care center, Marcilia sold the business and leased the property to pursue other business endeavors.

In 2010 the building suffered major damage after a water main break. The near destruction of her building brought Marcilia back to Wimberley Square. As she began the process of cleaning up and remodeling, her vision of a small Wimberley boutique hotel began to take shape. The Square Inn opened later that year.

Marcilia loves sharing the Wimberley Valley’s beauty and activities with her guests. She welcomes you to stay the Wimberley way at the Square Inn!
