5 Star Auto Spa

Took my 14′ Sierra Denali here in April and paid the $ 75 for the «Lava Express» and the vehicle was filthy, inside and out. I’m not a messy person and usually have cleaned my vehicle myself. This time I had waited longer than usual and it was definitely dirty but not excessively dirty. I watched employees in my truck on their phones and watched the truck roll on the short band with no attention until close to the end. They did a rush job and when I was asked if I was happy, I opened the door to look inside and the employees had placed my Weathertech mats on my accelerator! Needless to say it rev’d up to around 5 thousand rpm while I was trying to remove it from the gas pedal. After inspection, inside and out the truck was still completely filthy. I’ve got a bed cover on it so I’m not even talking about the bed. I’m talking about the outside. The tailgate, the running boards, the bumpers, the wheels, the door jams, the floor mats, cracks and crevices were not cleaned properly, honestly the only thing they really did was Armor All the plastics, leather, and dashboard. The instrument panel still was dusty and the nav screen had finger prints all over it. I called in to complain because I was on a tight schedule. I was told that the cost was for an interior detail, that the chemicals cost what they cost and were applied to the vehicle, and that my vehicle was «probably excessively dirty.» I’ve frequented other «high end» car washes and can honestly say that you’d be better off hiring someone else to do it or if finding yourself in the Leesburg neighborhood going to Leesburg Station Auto Wash where you truly get your money’s worth. As for 5 Star, they’ll never see me again, not just for terrible cleaning and the actions of their employees, but more specifically because of their customer service after the fact. The right thing would have been to send someone out, take a look at the vehicle and send it back through for cleaning. This could have all been avoided.

Very, very disappointed. Even wrote a kind email to express my disappointment — never received a response.
First, the attendant always tries to «talk you up» into a more inclusive — and EXPENSIVE — service. You almost have to «fight» them to keep what you want.
I used this car wash when we first moved here 5 years ago — and even then found it «marginally acceptable». While in Leesburg one day, I discovered «The Station» car wash. Tried their «bottom tier”$ 26 ext/​int service — WOW! WOW! WOW! The absolute BEST car wash I have ever experienced. I use them CONSTANTLY — and, in the one time I was disappointed — they provided me a complimentary UPGRADED wash and a kind email of thanks.
I tried 5 Star again last week thinking they may have improved — but, no. Grill & headlight area: bugs were not removed; rocker panels and underside of rear bumper: not even touched and this really shows on a white car! Had told them there was a lot of Lab dog hair on the carpeting asking that they pay «special attention» to removing it. Appeared almost as «hairy» after as before.
I don’t know what The Station does that 5 Star doesn’t — but for the same amount of $$ I get a «Bentley» wash there, compared to an Edsel one here.
I guess they «try,» but, in my book fail miserably.

After paying $ 69.99 a month for the car wash membership for over 2 years, and tipping the employees; all in all I calculated that I spent over $ 2000 with this place and I figured I would have been appreciated for my continued business. I have one truck, which was recently painted. I am not supposed to wash it for 30 days per my body shop. My credit card was charged its monthly fee the day prior to me stopping in to see the manager. I explained my situation to the manager in hopes of just getting a credit for the next month otherwise $ 70 bucks down the drain – I didn’t even ask for a refund. She told me she could not do it, only let me use another car to get washed during that month. I then asked for a refund which she also could not do. So, I spent $ 70 this month without being able to utilize the cash wash and without being offered any sort of resolution. Horrible way to treat a customer that has spent so much money at your place! I promptly canceled my membership (which she didn’t seem to care). If I owned this business I would strive to make sure my customers are happy. I’ll wash my truck myself before I ever spend another dime with these people. And the other reviews are right. The kids that work there don’t consistently do a good job. I see them walking around and cleaning the same fender over and over. No real management. Plus the microfiber clothes they use in the car wash must not be changed often as my black 55k ram has swirl marks all over it from using 5 star auto so much. All in all, I never complained before because I just lived with the subpar service this place offered as a alternative to washing it myself. But after screwing me over this month I finally have had it! Avoid this place.
In response to Hong Kong. You are truly ridiculous. You should go back to wherever you originated from, because in Winchester people treat each other like family. Whatever your towels are called, they cause swirl marks. Because they trap dirt from other vehicles and then oscillate on each and every car. Anyone using your wash frequently will get swirl marks.
I obviously called a manager which was not helpful in the least bit. Unilocal is a powerful tool. The fact that your business has many horrible reviews on a variety of webpages is a testament of how you do business and treat customers. I’ll have the last laugh. I’ll take my money elsewhere. So will others that read the multiple horrible reviews.

I paid $ 45 to have the interior and exterior cleaned.
There where crumbs still in my backseats, floors where not vacuumed, and the interior smelled of arm pit from the guy that «cleaned» it.
Very disappointed and will never go back.

Very bad service. I paid 200.00 for my car to be detailed just inside the car. The crevices were left with debris. The entire car was left with dog hair. They knew car had dog hair. I express detail the car three, times a week. I apologize everytime for dog hair. I paid for a complete interior detail and it was not cleaned. They refused to get dog hair out. They wanted to charge me additional money the next day when I showed Michele the debris and dog hair left in vehicle.

Brought my SUV in for detail and hand waxing. They closed the rear doors with something in them and cracked the fiberglass around the hinges. When I walked around the vehicle before I took delivery I noticed it, very obvious. They denied doing it even though there were paint chips and pieces of fiberglass on the rear bumper still! They could not explain how that could still be there after me driving and them washing the truck. Obviously it was done at the end of the detail process. I was told I could not have my truck unless I paid the $ 450 bill. And their customer service person would call me. Never did, wouldn’t take my calls either. I contested the charges on my card. Got refunded and they never contested my claim. Wish it was enough to cover my «barn door» on my Excursion. The police I called told me they get more calls there than any other business in Winchester! Think about that a minute !

For $ 9 they got *most* of the dirt off of my car …
There’s a 12″ gap up the back of my truck where the brushes didn’t reach.
Yeah, yeah, yeah … I know it’s an automatic carwash but … there are plenty of other businesses that have better car wash robots.

Expensive and poor attention to detail. They are quick, however given the number of people they have working on one vehicle there should be higher quality. When they tell me we could not get a staying out for a $ 160 interior detail, and then I go home and use a common household products to do just that they are flat out not trying. On top of it all, they lost one of our floor mats which we did not know until we got home. It was a minivan so there are a number of mats in the back that all go together and they couldn’t figure it out so they just dump them all in the back. When the car dried out and we put mats in we were missing one… And they take no responsibility. Wash your car yourself or find a reputable detailing facility.

Called to get a quote for tinting, they quoted me $ 235. When I arrived, they said it was $ 240. No big deal. After my car was back for over an hour, they came back and said «we didn’t count your windows correctly» it’s going to be 310. I told the lady on the phone and the lady in the store that I had 9 windows. Also 4 people came in to complain about the detailing services. I left and will no go back for any reason.

I have been here several times since my last review and each time the service has not been worth the escalating cost.
Today I attempted to get my exterior and interior done I was going to get the 38 $ option. the girl punched in that option but the screen said it was going to be 42 $. I asked why. she said well the computer determined my car was a SUV. I do not drive an SUV. I even told her. she said that she could not do anything and that was the price. I said again. this this was not an SUV. I pointed out the Cadillac car (not an Escalade) next to me which was a bigger car than mine and asked how much that would be charged and she said $ 38. I again asked her about the price and she stuck with the price on the screen. I told her I have never been charged an SUV price here. she just shrugged her shoulders. I asked for a manager and she said she was a manager. I thanked her told her that she has lost a customer and left.
This place has gotten more expensive for the mediocre job they have done in the past and there «system» can’t classify cars correctly and their manager does not seem to have the ability to know the difference between a car and a SUV.
Whatever owner or real manager may be reading this from 5 Star. I encourage you to visit Station Car Wash in Leesburg or C&C car wash in Front Royal to see what they do for less money that you charge.

Although People were friendly, I basically had go else where to get the car cleaned again.
I paid for full detailed car wash, yet the cup holders, deck etc were still dirty, they vacuumed main parts «alright» but didn’t bother to clean under seats, it almost looked as if they had shoved all under the car seats. I had to ask man who brought me car, to clean seats and I got a cloth to do cup holder etc and main parts that weren’t touched and when I mentioned about the vacuuming he admitted it wasn’t well done but I had to turn car around and there were more people, and I simply couldn’t wait.
I feel like I threw the money away. Will not be going again unfortuantely

Took our VW convertible in for the Super Interior Express. It had been sitting up for the winter and had not had a really through cleaning for several months. They did a remarkable job getting the dirt, dust and dog hair out of the vehicle. When they finished it was almost like it was when we drove it off the showroom floor. We couldn’t find a crevasse that hadn’t been cleaned. We were so pleased we took our other car back this weekend.

Had the $ 48 interior/​exterior clean today with wax. Exterior with bugs still all over grill and side view mirrors on my pickup. Interior seemed only window got a quick wipe and carpet vacuumed. Leather seats full of kid’s crumbs, etc, the reason I went for a clean. Was told cup holders, etc. would be cleaned, Not! Doorwells not vacuumed. Really bogus job for the money. Was told $ 50 additional for Super Interior clean would have gotten that stuff. Will do it myself next time, in the same time this place takes, for under $ 10 at the you wash it types.

Do an OK job cleaning my car when I don’t feel like doing it, I honestly prefer to do things myself. But they do offer a wide variety of detail options which can be helpful especially during the winter months when you don’t want to work on detailing your car in the cold

They can clean cars ok but DO NOT use their auto repair services. They really only have one experienced mechanic (nice guy), but the rest are «day-​labor» types…
I have had three repairs there and have had nothing but problems with follow-​up issues. They also don’t have a transparent/​fair warranty for work that is improperly diagnosed/​repaired. Prices are also steep and they’ve trained their staff to «up-​sell» services that are not necessary.
Management has a passive-​aggressive approach that’s a source of a lot of their problems. Don’t be fooled by their initial politeness, especially until something goes wrong and then things get very «tricky.» It’s a family run business (fine) but it’s top-​heavy in this respect and I’ve experienced their strict supervision of staff and problems with customers, my own and otherwise. As a business case-​study, it’s interesting to watch the hubris unfold…
They should stick to the «suds.» They’re not prepared to fix cars, both technically and managerially.

Avoid this place if you enjoy your valuables. I had a 500 winning lottery stolen from my console of my car. Contacted Manager, was told sorry and went back inside. This place used to be a good place to go. Now they will never get my business and I will ensure that I share with my 800+ friends on Facebook that they too will never go there a well.

Not horrible. Not great. The car wash is fine but both times I’ve paid extra for hand details I was disappointed. Even the most expensive option left crumbs in my car and I felt like all they did was soak it with armor all and not even very well. Next time I’m going somewhere else.

This place is ok. My car comes out clean but for $ 14 is should.
Personally I prefer the auto wash in Charles Town. It’s cheaper AND they hand dry your car.

Got an automatic car wash here the other day and I think it did the best job that I have seen from an automated car wash. On the other hand it cost $ 14 bucks, which is almost the cheapest option available (I think $ 12 is the lowest). I did it, because I was in a rush and wasn’t going to be headed by a manual car wash and it was freezing cold outside. I would recommend this place, if it is too cold to wash your car the old fashion way or if you are physically not able to wash your own car.

Early September visit for exterior and interior detail with hand wash/​wax. Car looked great until I got into it and noticed dark dirt smudges on my apholstered center console. I brought out the man behind the counter (he later told me he was part owner) to show him the dirt.
I told him that this dirt was not there when i dropped the car off to which he replied that he would not clean it because I did not buy the carpet shampoo package. I told him that I did not buy the package because there was no dirt that needed to be cleaned. We went round and round until he finally said that he was 100% sure that his people had not put the dirt on my console and it was there when I dropped the car off. But, after at least 20 minutes of arguing, I was finally able to get someone else out to clean off the console with a spray (took less than 5 to clean btw).
Would have been nice for the part owner to do that in the first place instead of trying to get me to buy a shampoo package to clean his mess and/​or arguing about his 100% certainty that dirt did not accidentally get on my console.
All this for him to tell me, the customer, that he did not appreciate me accusing his company of dirtying the car.
OMG!!! Just clean it! Don’t try to get me to spend even more money or call me a liar!
Your car will get a nice detail but unless you want to deal with an owner like this… GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
