It was our great fortune that we stumbled onto this place! What a gem! These are clearly top notch bakers! Everything is wonderful! The breakfast sandwich is amazing. There is a cute little outdoor seating area in the charming«alley way» beside the shop… a great place to sit and enjoy a sunny morning visit to Winchester!

Dropping in to this locally-owned shop is always fun(and we love the monthly, incredibly creative and fun window displays, all made with bread! …amazing, and this attention to detail really adds a lot to the appeal of a town center shop). The bread is of course great and we love the mocha chip rolls. Nice, convenient options in a small freezer area too, such as meats for antipasto, some pastas.

Tea cake and panninis were all super delicious!(Tried two types). We also bought a sourdough bread loaf but have not tried it yet. Chocolate chip cookie was just ok.

Best breakfast sandwich in Winchester Center. This is a secret hole in the wall retail shop for Piantedosi Bread. I have known for a while that this company supplies many sandwich shops with bread but was pleasantly surprised to see how well they can pull of their own. The proscuitto panini with a fig spread and cheese is delicious and as I mentioned above they have a great breakfast sandwich with some extra crispy bacon. I usually order mine on a cinnamon raison bun, the sweetness adds a nice touch. Besides sandwiches and breads they have a small selection of italian groceries. Definitely worth a stop in if you are in the area.

Such a nice experience here! The manager was warm and friendly(a rarity these days) and took the time to show us around the shop and make recommendations. My initial impression was that there weren’t a ton of options, but I changed my mind once I tried the bread at home. It took me a few minutes to figure out why a plain sandwich(cheese, lettuce, tomato) tasted so good, and finally I realized it must be the new bread! Pianetdosi has definitely converted me from buying Nashoba at Whole Foods. I also appreciated being able to shop on a Sunday afternoon, since so many bakeries are closed then.

Always the best service here, I love the bread and the various things they carry to make a meal(meats, cheeses, etc). The must try are the panini sandwiches. They come with a fresh cookie and your choice of drink. I have tried all of them and each is enjoyable, my favorite being the prosciutto and mozzarella. The prices are good and its definitely worth a try for anyone.

I’ve always admired the creative window displays at this cute bakery, and I stopped in for the first time this weekend. We got a loaf of the kalamata olive bread and the cinnamon raisin breakfast rolls. Both are delicious! The olive bread has a nice crust(crusty but not too crusty) and soft chewy texture. The breakfast rolls are a little more dense, and make a nice satisfying breakfast treat. I look forward to returning and trying their sandwiches.

Piantedosi makes the best bread ever. My kids love the moch chip breakfast rolls but I love the sandwich rolls and the french and scali bread. Go to the the shop in Winchester sometime and meet Julie & Joe Piantedosi they are genuine people that love their bread…

Piantedosi Bread Shop is not necessarily Formaggio Kitchen in the South End, the Boston Cheese Cellar, or the cluttered goodness in Dave’s Fresh Pasta in Somerville. What it really is is a quaint shop where all your basic necessities are available at a reasonable price; Olive oil, bread, cheese, vinaigrette, frozen fresh pasta(around $ 10 or under), and charcuterie(prepared $ 8). You can’t really argue with those numbers. This is why I’ll probably be making a pasta/cheese stop here instead of Dave’s or Formaggio. My first random visit to the Piantedosi Bread Shop was great. I usually hate walking into specialty stores without having background knowledge. It’s kind of like going to your first scotch or wine tasting by yourself and all you can do is just nod and smile while they feed you complicated information… what?! Everybody’s like«OOH! I definitely taste the sweetness of the Blah Blah Region of Italy!» Shut up. Stop making me feel bad. The samples won’t make you feel bad. Plus, they give you some guidance as to what you like and don’t like. Since there was a promotion of if you buy a bottle of olive oil, you also get a free loaf of bread, I was all for it. Unfortunately, the sample of the extra virgin olive oil that I fell in love with was out of stock so I bought another one without looking at the price and picked up a stick of french bread. At the register, the helpful man threw in two small drums of goat cheese. Nice. The total was $ 20 for the olive oil– a bit bummed out because the sample bottle was much cheaper andddd I’m a college student, but another man behind the counter reminded me that the bottle came with a free loaf of bread and the cheese. Touché, my friend. Touché. So I finally have a somewhat pricey bottle of olive oil… I sound so naïve :) Was it worth it? I dipped the bread in my standard olive oil at home and then in the new bottle. Holy moly! BIG difference! $ 20… no big deal. I also asked if they had Burrata cheese. Even though they didn’t have it because it perishes quickly, they told me they could put in an order for me. All was not lost =) Although my shopping experience was spectacular, my only complaint is that the french bread was not the fresh crusty and moist bread I was hoping for. It worked though(I read that the Italian bread is better than the French). But because the service was absolutely stupendous, helpful and knowledgeable, and the prices were very agreeable, I will definitely be coming back to Piantedosi Bread Shop. Thanks guys!
