Re-Leaf Landscape

We have used Re-​Leaf twice now. They did such a great job on our backyard last year, that we called and just had our front yard done. Our ugly grass/​weeds has been replaced with beautiful sod and water saving sprinklers. Now our backyard and front yard look lush! They also get right to work and don’t waste any time finishing up quickly, leaving no mess behind!

I called Mike at Re-​Leaf Landscape because of the great reviews I saw on Unilocal.I was definately NOT dissapointed. Mike stopped by and gave me a great estimate on the cost to replace my entire front lawn (which I killed off while trying to get rid of weeds). He and his team showed up, were respectful, fast, efficient, and did an awesome job on my new beautiful green lawn. They cleaned up when they were done, and the only trace they left was the lush and beautiful green grass which is thriving wonderfully in my front yard.
Before, I was ashamed to step outside having a dead lawn and being the «one house» in the neighborhood that looked like nobody cared about property values (I cared, but my dead lawn didn’t show that). Now I have neighbors actually coming up to me and telling me how beautiful my new yard looks. Thanks Mike!
I would definately recommend Mike and his team for any job. He has checked on me several times after putting the lawn in, making sure if I had any questions they were answered. He is great to work with, and his team was top notch.

We hired Re-​Leaf to remove grass, pour a cement patio, and do some landscaping (planter, etc.). The planter area was nicely done and the concrete came out good. The people doing the work were considerate and mindful (such as suggesting the pattern in the concrete, asking if plant placement was acceptable, and asking for clarification as they went along).
Aside from the general good work from the main workers, the landscaper (Mike) did not take detailed notes when providing the estimate therefore forgetting that we asked for some specific details and wanted to charge more as we went along. He did not take care of the patch of lawn we wanted to keep, and did not take care of the edging around the newly poured concrete — leaving an unfinished look.
Also, we did not appreciate his condescending attitude particularly toward my wife. He was snickering when she asked for low maintenance plants, made a big deal about us wanting to stay within a budget — and acting like that was why he wasn’t making helpful suggestions, and didn’t seem to want to talk to her about details as the work progressed. Hard to explain the subtleties but my wife felt it was difficult to work with him.
When we asked about drains for the cement, he didn’t take that into consideration for the estimate and we had to pay more for it. We would have expected him to know that was needed ahead of time.

I’ll try to keep this short and concise. We hired Mike to do a complete remodel of our front and backyard which included tearing up all the grass (to get the state rebate), concrete work, and adding block walls. Overall the project came out pretty well but there were issues throughout the entire process. We spent almost $ 20k with Mike and I did not expect to have to quality check his guys as much as I did.

Pros
The final outcome looks good and his concrete guy does really good work.
Cons:
1. If you have the plans already drawn up, then Mike may be your guy. He lacks creativity and anytime we asked his opinion about what to do, he basically said it’s up to come up with the design.
2. Quality control was an issue as he was hardly ever there. He put way too much trust in his guys. Here are some examples:
— During the prep work for the concrete on both sides of the house, his guys completely covered my drain pipes. Luckily, I noticed and had them uncap the drains. Without the drains, water would just collect on the sides of my house.
— When installing the sprinkler line for my bushes, the guys didn’t notice that a pipe was broken. I noticed the excess water and had them dig it up and repair it. This same line broke again and I had water leaking for a few weeks.
— The end of the drip system wasn’t capped at one of my trees and water was gushing out. Luckily, I was there to correct it.
— I had to go to EVERY single plant that we have (we have a lot) and make sure drip lines were going to each one. A lot were missing.
— Even after that, they still missed a large section of my planters because he said the existing sprinkler system was going there. It wasn’t until my bushes started dying, that I realized he had capped that existing line.
— The lights installed on my columns were done horribly and Mike had to get someone to redo it.
— Concrete splatter was all over my walls on every side of my home.
— I had to have them come back and reinstall some of the block wall caps because they were loose. I didn’t say anything, but the guys left concrete chunks in my planter after this was done.
3. If I had my push broom or water hose sprayer laying around, the guys would use it. They actually broke my water hose sprayer.
4. My pregnant wife was home at the time with our infant, and she had to keep the windows closed because the guys were smoking. On top of that, they left the cigarette butts on the ground. One day I told one of the workers to put it out because my wife had to run inside because of the smoke.
5. The work took longer than it should have. My wife noticed how the guys sat around A LOT when Mike wasn’t there.

We had a great experience with Mike and his crew! We had a retaining wall, stamped concrete, and some grass put into our backyard this summer. Mike and his crew were efficient, professional, and reliable. I gave them a goal for when I wanted everything done, and surely enough they were able to complete the job by that time. Mike is honest and easy to talk to. He will help you get the best product for your money. He was easy to reach, and would return my call/​text on any day of the week. We are very happy with our backyard. Our dogs even love him. My husband and I would call him again for any future work.

Well when i met Mike, we had him out to our home to give us some finish touch ideas, plants, trees, sod and irrigation.
I put him on the spot and asked him to produce a design right then and there, basically if it was your house, what would you do?
As a tile contractor, I’m very detailed and picky, and can determine the experience level right out the gate.
I felt good with the design, we had a price, we had a start date, even had another initial visit with the plant broker to determine if the look we were after, was going to hold up wth the harsh elements, i liked this part seemed liked they cared and not just showing up planting a bunch of misc crap.
They started on time daily, cleaned up their mess daily, positioned trees and plants to our liking, over all we have a frigging awesome backyard, thank you Mike and thank you to your crew, we will appreciate the life you have our yard for many years to come! !!

Re-​Leaf came to do a major clean up of a large hill he have in our new backyard, including weeding, removal of a few trees and plants, etc. The work was done rather quickly over a two day period. Upon completion, I noticed a few things that weren’t quite done to my liking. Upon making my first Unilocal review of the business, Mike called me almost immediately to address my concerns. He came back to my house a few days later and fixed everything that I was unhappy with. He demonstrated in words and actions that he takes his business very seriously and customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance. It seems rare these days that business owners are willing to go above and beyond for their customers. Mike is one of those rare business owners that will personally ensure that you are happy with the finished product.

Mike was so prompt called him on a Monday and he was here the next day. Checked my drip system and even added to it. Made some very good suggestions will definitely call him again.

Mike was by far the best to work with. His estimate was the lowest and he came over the same day I called. The work he and his guys did was great. They were here bright and early every day and very nice. When they were all done he called to check in a few days later. I would defiantly call him again for future work, and I will tell all my friends.

Very pleased with the work Michael and his crew did for us. He is easy to talk with, doesn’t make you feel rushed or pressured, listens to what you want, and then delivers. In my experience, contractors are tough to track down once they get their last check. not Re-​Leaf. Michael answered my call on a Sunday morning, addressed my concerns, and showed up Monday morning to make the modification. That’s just good service.
Update: Michael called me so we could discuss the work that was done, and told me that I could call if any problems arise. That’s just great customer service.

Mike and company were excellent! We received a quote to remove existing seed grass and replace with sod as well as move sprinklers, and a bit of clean up for a home we’re getting ready to sell. The estimate was more than fair; the crew was very nice and incredibly hard-​working. We have a good size lot yet Mike and the crew were able to get all the work done within two days for a really great price! Also, Mike was super informative and helpful. We are so very happy with the finished backyard, we almost don’t want to sell the house! Will absolutely recommend Re-​Leaf to all our friends and family and use again if the opportunity arises.

We hired mike & his crew to install a concrete slab, add drains, move sprinklers & add gas, water & electrical lines, the work was exceptional. We are very pleased with the look of the slab & the timely manner they worked in. They are professional & dependable, we will definitely call on them again for our future projects.

Mike and company redid my entire backyard and widened my driveway with concrete, along with some extra requests I had. Literally transformed my yard for the better. Appreciate all the hard work involved. Communication was on point and the job was finished ahead of time.

we had a concrete wasteland in our backyard that needed a complete overhaul. called up a few contractors and mike was the first to respond and come out to our house for an estimate. We chose mike because his price was fair, he was friendly and honest! We broke ground a few weeks later on our start date and our backyard turned out to be a total can of worms, whoever had done it before us had no idea what they were doing, it was horrible! Our original concrete (2200 sq. ft.) ended up being around 8−10″ thick in most areas! Mike and his crew did an awesome job taking care of everything though, always keeping us updated on what was happening and mike ALWAYS answered my calls/​texts very quickly, which was greatly appreciated because i’m sure i must have drove him crazy with all our questions and requests haha! A few hiccups in our process so we ended up going over our initial budget, but that was inevitable with everything that came up and that was added.
Overall, our backyard turned out beautiful! we couldn’t have asked for anything better, it was exactly as we wanted it, a complete transformation. So glad we met mike and his crew! Everyone was friendly, respectful and cleaned up afterwards too. We will definitely have mike come out for anything else that may come up and refer to all our friends/​family, thanks Re-​Leaf! :)

Services rendered were great. Called Mike on the Saturday before Memorial Day and he came in 20 minutes to give me an estimate. His bid was not the lowest that I received, but I read the great reviews here on Unilocal.His bid included rototilling, sprinkler head replacement/​repair, valve replacement, new bark in the planters, and new sod installation.
Albeit coming late than first indicated, Mike and team came and went straight to work in the blazing hot, sunny day.
Mike also programmed my sprinklers for me for them to come on. There was a problem in the beginning that the sprinklers were not functioning, or the stations would not come on at the time it was programmed, but Mike figured it out and got everything to work.
All-​in-​all, the work that was written up on the bid was done minus the rototilling — which Mike explained that was going to be impossible with the tree roots in the area where the new sod was being installed, but the dirt was nice and moist just after being watered. Paid the agreed upon price from the original bid, and they cleaned up and hauled everything away. Mike was kind enough to check up on the sprinkler issue the next day, to which there have been no problems thanks to him fixing it.
It was a little bit irksome being asked to leave a review multiple times (which I already said I would, and am usually happy to do). It was mentioned once after placing my deposit, asked for after services were rendered, mentioned after check up on the next day, and asked for again the day after (today).
I would contact Re-​Leaf again for any landscaping projects in the future.

Michael did great job, was easy to contact and communicate, always in time, very thorough and pleasant, personally was present supervising work. I would definitely recommend him to anybody.

We had mike come out to give us an estimate for our sod and sprinkler project in the backyard. He came on Wednesday at about 4:30 and the entire job was complete by noon on Friday. His bid was the lowest we had gotten and the work is exceptional! Thanks again mike and his crew! We will definitely be calling you for more projects!

Mike did a super outstanding job on widening my driveway, putting concrete floor in my backyard, making a new gate, and costume design for my front yard. His price was fair, work was finished on a timely manner, and his crew cleaned up after each day. I defiantly recommend Mike Re-​leaf Landscape.

His price was fair and his crew did the work on time and cleaned up after each day. When the project was done I had a great new BBQ, fire pit and pavers in the back yard.
