History

Established in 2002.

The Winchester Group, founded by Gary Nichols, is a full service independent insurance agency. We are extremely proud of the experienced and highly qualified insurance professionals who have joined our agency since its inception. In addition, we have been able to secure contracts with some of the top insurance companies in our industry to include all of our product lines. Our services include consultation and marketing of business insurance, bonding, employee benefits, personal home and auto, business and individual life, individual health, long term disability and long term care. We recently celebrated 10 years of successful business!

Meet the Business Owner

Gary N.

Business Owner

Gary has been helping businesses and individuals with their insurance programs for more than 33 years. The first five years of his insurance career were spent as a claims adjuster in the Tidewater Virginia area, where he gained valuable experience in handling a variety of insurance claims for businesses and individuals.

During the last 28 years, Gary has specialized in designing and servicing insurance programs for businesses in Virginia, as well as other states. He previously served as President of a large, local agency and in April of 2002, was instrumental in bringing together a group of experienced insurance professionals to form a new independent agency, The Winchester Group, Inc.

Gary is a graduate of Wake Forest University and has continued to pursue additional education during his career in the insurance industry. He has obtained several national designations including CPCU and CIC.
